God's Conman by William Coffey relates the biography of the Rev James Currie, a Church of Scotland minister. Currie was very successful in filling his churches with parishioners, through his down to earth approach to the Bible and his quick-witted comic timing. He became a well-known figure on TV, radio and the stage, including the Royal Albert Hall. He was my parish minister while at St James's, Pollok in Glasgow. The book is well-written but suffers a little from a lack of proof reading.
