What a beautiful representation of a relationship. This was such a joy to read. If I’m being honest, I want to see more of them, how they grow further in their relationship, tackle their problem, how they will react when they go public with their relationship. Even the way the problems are handled are so realistic. This is without doubt one of the best and relatable romances I’ve read in a while.

Really love this series, it's just so mature and understated.

Nozue and Togawa have been together for 6 months now, and they're both incredibly happy. Everyone remarks on Nozue looking younger and being in a better mood. That is until one day when he lends one of his ties to Togawa, and a co-worker notices it. Nozue decides that perhaps he needs to distance himself from Togawa, so that he doesn't ruin the younger man's life.

There's so much pining and just the right amount of angst. The mangaka is so great at expressions, capturing all that longing so well. Great ending and honestly I could read more about them, but it's perfect as it is!

Relationships are not necessarily straightforward, just because both people have declared their love for each other. This second volume of “Old-Fashioned Cupcake with Cappucino” by Sagan Sagan sees Nozue and Togawa struggle to communicate better. Nozue is so used to living on his own that he forgets that Togawa is not able to read his mind and so when he refuses to take the next step Togawa thinks that things are ending when in actuality it is Nozue who is afraid that that there will be no future if they fulfill their relationship in the bedroom.

Nozue is the older man but he is also the more emotionally shut down. Togawa knows what he feels and what he wants, allowing him to react in a more open manner. The book inverts the maturity levels of the characters, because it is Togawa who seems more mature than Nozue who is older. The point is that there is choice in how we live our lives and sometimes the love of others can help people make choices that allow them to step out of their shell and enjoy life to the fullest.

The book is full of sugar and at the end there is some spice. But the appeal is the normality of the relationship that they find themselves in. There are cute scenes with santa hats and misunderstandings along the way.

Read it last January, I forgot to mark it. Anyway, I love this with all my heart!! The domesticity, the reality that they should face together (among all, they're co-workers, and the age gap,) the break-up (I cried!!) and how they just couldn't be "not" together. This was so angsty, compared to the first book filled with fluffiness of a cupcake's icing. It definitely had that cappucino bit with it. My, God. I love this. And the art style, I swear!! Anyway, I'll surely read it again.

I loved every thing about this manga. The art, the main characters, the side characters, the dialogues, the depth of the issues. Perfection. This was perfect.

I love returning to this story. I'm so happy the mangaka decided to do a new volume!!! I love the characters, the story, the romance, SOOOO MUCH. Old-Fashioned Cupcake with Cappuccino is definitely one of my favorites now.

This volume has Nozue and Togawa taking that next step in their relationship. But so many things are at stake and Nozue wants to protect Togawa any way possible. This unfortunately causes a lot of things happening in their relationship... and SOME OF THEM HURT. This leveled up on the angst and hurt ngl but ooof it was so good. And you know YOU KNOW they're going to get that happily ever after, so you don't have to worry about that.

But even though you get angst and pain, you also get a lot of love. MORE LOVE THAN THE FIRST VOLUME. It's clear these two love each other and want to spend the rest of their lives together. Nozue is being more opened and sharing his thoughts and love with not only Togawa, with his friends too. Togawa is on cloud nine whenever Nozue explicitly says something and showcases his love for him, because Togawa never thought it possible. It's so sweet!!!

"what it means to truly act your age, i think...is to know your real self and be it."

I picked up the first volume in this series after watching the live action drama and absolutely loving it.

When I realized there was a sequel to the first volume that continued where that volume and the drama left off, I knew I needed it ASAP.

I've been wanting so much more from Nozue & Togawa's story ever since reading the first volume and watching the drama and this sequel definitely delivered. I really do hope they make a live action season 2 based on this volume!!

You can’t buy feelings, but you can buy (or read) this manga and it’ll make you feel loved, warm, and remind you that life still has good things to offer. Watching Nozue and Togawa work through their differences in this volume and become fulfilled, together, was so rewarding. I loved it. A lot.

I enjoyed this second volume because it shows a different side to their relationship. Beyond the sweet love confession and the realization their feelings are mutual, a relationship requires work and constant communication. I just love them, I would read volumes and volumes of them just... existing.

we are following Nozue and Togawa after book 1.
their relationship is established, but life isn't as easy for male colleagues who are lovers. in this second book, they are navigating their relationship, wanting to live together and dealing with work, potentially finding out and throwing their careers out.

a deeper and very much realistic second volume. just wished it had a bit more of giggly romance with nozue and togawa, they had a lot of important mature conversations about their relationship and they grew a lot as a couple but the actual romantic aspect was toned down compared the first volume.

Started cute, then they both had a huge reality check which forced them to confront their fears and their selfishness. But their relationship came out of it stronger. A good end, and you can totally understand their struggle.

I picked up the first Old-Fashioned Cupcake volume as well as its sequel, OFC with Cappuccino at the same time, I was confused at the time about which volume came first so I got both. The art looked gorgeous, I wanted more stories featuring grown adults with normal problems and jobs etc so I didn't expect so much tenderness and innocence from the 40-year-old male lead, it reminded me that getting to know someone, falling in love, being pursued, in intertwined with so many different emotions, excitement, awe, anxiety, incertitude, fear, being forced to face your insecurities but also seeing how someone can see you, through their own eyes and their own perspectives and own fear and insecurities. I didn't think I'd get all that from those two volumes, but I did, and I'll miss these twos. I wonder if we'll ever get another sequel so we can know what they end up doing with their lives, or perhaps as old men. It would be lovely.

I relate to Nozue♥️
Him feeling old.. His overall outlook on life & love, and his lack of experience in many aspects of life at such an age etc. Strongly felt his feelings on a very visceral level. I can only hope for my own Togawa to sweep me off my feet someday🥺

If this series had like 100 volumes I would surely read them all. A part of me wishes that we could see these two men grow old(er) together and see how they would flourish over the years. But then again, sometimes when something is good and sweet, best to leave it so. I don’t think I could take a potential heartbreak end for them so I will settle for the short & sweet story that is theirs 🥰 They make me happy deep in my soul☺️

Je l’ai autant aimé que le premier ! Une histoire douce et réelle !

J’ai beaucoup aimé la façon dont l’autrice a abordé le problème d’avoir une relation amoureuse avec une dynamique subordonnée/chef au travail mais aussi la réalité d’être homosexuel. Les dilemmes, les doutes, les disputes etc étaient vraiment très réaliste et ça m’a beaucoup touché.

Nozue et Togawa sont un couple adorable et j’adore voir Nozue découvrir de nouvelles choses, a presque 40 ans.

Ce manga célèbre la jeunesse d’esprit avec beaucoup de douceur !
