This was a perfect companion to season one of the anime. It gives background information about all the characters alongside some cool artwork and extra details we might not have picked up on in the series. I enjoyed reading the interviews from the cast and reading their opinions and takes on the beloved characters. I also liked seeing a behind the scenes of how the anime gets created and what goes into making it.
Overall, a super fun and enjoyable read whilst I recover from season two of the anime😅
This would be a great guide for someone who is just getting into the series - as someone who is 20+ volumes into the manga I already knew much of the information that was being communicated in the individual character profiles. Because of this, my favourite sections were towards the end where we saw storyboards, staff interviews and cast special messages. The Juju Stroll sections were also super fun to read!
Overall, was a great short look into the production process of Season 1 of the anime! I wish there were more interviews with the producers and editors of the series. You could tell that a lot of thought and effort was put into this anime from both the voice actors and the anime producers' side!
Some other anime guides I’ve read tend to just summarize the plot and characters with info any casual fan would know, maybe with a small comment or insight from someone who helped create the story that lean more toward basic platitudes. While this guide has that, it also features storyboards and interviews that reveal more of the production process and thought behind different creative choices, as well as some fun thoughts/comments on the story as a whole. I prefer more of this type of behind the scenes aspect of an anime guide, so my main complaint is that it didn’t include more of that.
It was cool to see what the people who worked on Jujutsu Kaisen thought about it. When watching the anime, I didn't really pay much attention to how much work is being done. All the people who've worked in it put so much attention to detail, from the vibe of the songs to even little character design details. I def appreciate it more now, and I want to rewatch season 1 to see if I'd catch anything.
I got this as a gift and I love how amazing this guide is. It's easy to read and understand. Like the MHA guide you learn more about characters and their interest (plus a bunch of other cool things) The artwork is fantastic, you get insites on JJK0 as well and Yuta is bae. You do get cool extras like posters and the interviews with the VA are really cool as well. Im very pleased with this book!!
This books is perfect for anyone who wants to understand the details of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 1. It has interviews, sketches, little bios of every character you meet and props used, and it gives you the reasoning behind certain scenes in the anime. I enjoyed learning all the little details and seeing how the manga was brought to life and their decisions behind certain aspects of scenes.
Lovely background Infos and character arts. I enjoyed the interviews with cast and crew about the creation of the first season of the Jujutsu Kaisen anime most.
This book is amazing. I want a season two guide! Do not read it if you're not a crazy Jujutsu Kaisen fan or if you haven't watched season 1 of the anime because it'll make cero sense to you.
As an artist, I appreciate all of the references for all of the characters. All of the little things about the characters was so cool. There's nothing more fun than getting insight on your favorite characters. Plus it was nice to read a little bit on curses and techniques because it was hard to grasp at first.
It's a great collection of art from the first season of Jujutsu Kaisen. It includes a couple of pages of JJK 0 as well. I'd recommend it for artists trying to understand the character designs, especially the Kindle version, because you can zoom in on the art.
