The beloved fantasy adventure Inuyasha continues with the next generation of demon hunters!
Can the three teenage daughters of demon dog half-brothers Inuyasha and Sesshomaru save their parents, themselves, and both realms from the menace of the seven mystical Rainbow Pearls?
While the trio continues marching westward, they run into a slimy beast that kidnaps princesses! Coming to their aid is Tokichiro Kinoshita, a cunning peasant who will one day become a historical legend, and he devises a clever—and embarrassing—plan to lure the monster out of hiding. Then, the girls battle the demon and witness the sorts of tricks that Inuyasha himself would pull off!
Another one down! Really liked the lil bits of more backstory we got here, also, again, yay more Sesshomaru, and his ma, and Jaken...
Curious for more info on Rion, and looking forward to hopefully a lil more exposition on Zero, and whatever may have gone on with her and Toga (Inu-Daddy) previously to hurt her so.
Still don't trust Riku, though I really kind of want to, but he's so... so... idk! Like, obvs, he's got whatever going on where he 'loves' or wants to/is driven to do things for Zero, but also his connection to Kirinmaru, but also, he's somehow helping Sesshomaru? So... I want to like and trust him, but at this point, I just can't yet. Can't quite tell for sure yet where he really stands, although I'm leaning toward goodness, but also, giving him massive side-eye...
Anyway, this one was fun, but now I gotta wait til Monday for the next three available volumes to come to my door. Also curious when the rest after those will be available, hope it's not too long before we can have the full set...
Volume 4 of Yashahime provides much needed background information on Lady Ziro, Riku and Rion. We also learn about the friendship of Kirinmaru and Toga, as well as the complicated relationships Toga held with women. We even see a glimpse into the romance of Rin and Sesshomaru. As always, Yashahime delivers plenty of action-packed fights and comedic moments. As more is revealed, I am becoming more curious as to how the series will end.
I have to confess to being a little lost at points due to the time that passed between reading number three and number four. But! And that's a big but! I am definitely here for all the Sesshomaru action, and this volume is heavy in it. I'm loving the backstory and the little nuggets we're getting for the present day predicament. The nostalgia factor is big here and this team is doing a fantastic job.
