From virgin to vamp, whether madonna, muse or temptress, women have been a source of creative inspiration and erotic fantasy throughout the history of art. This new series focuses on painters, sculptors and photographers who celebrated "The Eternal Feminine", both in reverie and reality. These small-format volumes allow us to share the artists' visions and offer a glimpse into their private world.

I've got a second hand hard copy of this book, which it is mostly pictures, and they are impressive.
The feminine and the fascination with the taboo and the forbidden have always been some of her main subjects, sensuality and eroticism to be not just explored through art, but analyzed, surgically dissected to show their inner self. Outstanding artist, great talent, quick and enjoyable read for anyone that wants to get familiar with Leonor Fini's work.

I stumbled upon the work of Leonor Fini accidentally, and this book was a useful little overview of her work.
The paintings themselves are sensual, sinister and surreal. The accompanying artist criticism was almost poetic.
I don't feel like I know much more about the artist after reading this, but have a good idea of her work.
