Developing Windows-Based Applications covers basic desktop development with .NET 1.1 competently, and it similarly, comprehensively covers the objectives for MCAD and MCSD exams 70-306 (VB.NET) and 70-316 (C#); but its simply par for certification books; and it annoyingly bridges VB.NET and C# throughout - a distraction for the majority of people simply interested in one of the two languages.
