I picked this up last week when I visited Bermuda. (Along with several others the bookstore clerk recommended.) Even though I am not intending to move, let alone move to Bermuda, I still found this little book interesting. It was a cute way to remind the reader, even in "paradise," all is not perfect. Everywhere has little (or sometimes big) issues that must be dealt with. Even though air conditioning has probably helped to solve the humidity issues the author faced when she first moved to Bermuda, there are still other problems she had to face and solve. Her stories were entertaining enough that even though I did not need a guide on how to acclimate to living in Bermuda, I still enjoyed the various stories she told.

While vacationing in Bermuda, I saw this in a bookstore in Hamilton. This is a very quick read about the things anyone (men too!) should know upon moving to Bermuda. It's full of good, solid, useful advice and really should be required reading to all immigrants.

What a great guide to Bermuda living. I was born there, but my family left when I was three years old. I've visited once. I know I'm not allowed to live there again, but it was so great to know what the pros and cons can be. And I can use some of these ideas elsewhere.

I bought this in Hamilton, Bermuda this past winter, when we did a lovely 3-day escape from winter. It is, literally, a guide to life in Bermuda for people not from there. There are charming bits about local characters and customs, but the focus is on housekeeping. Heat and humidity, especially humidity, are the enemies of gracious living, so the slogan for protecting everything from mold, mildew, rot, and pests is "keep it clean, keep it dry, keep it moving." Pretty much confirms my impression that it's a great place to visit, not a place for me to live.

If you are moving to Bermuda, new to Bermuda or ever dreamed of living in Bermuda, this book gives you the nitty-gritty of what life in Bermuda is like in an enjoyable, humorous but practical way. Despite the subtitle, men would benefit as well. I've been to Bermuda twice on vacation and this disillusioned me that life there is all paradise as she explained coping with humidity, lack of central heating in winter (when it's still humid), getting a drivers license, etc.

anyone moving to the Rock should read this, not just women, at whom the book is targeted. Some parts are a bit outdated -- A/C takes care of many of the ongoing issues she faced -- but a lot of it is still very relevant.

You won't survive in Bermuda without this. They even sell it in the stores there.
