I read this ahead of my little girls to check for age appropriateness. While the book was clean -- just a little bit of bad guy mischief -- it was so, so sappy.

Our oldest has started her second Rainbow Magic fairy series by the group of writers who call themselves Daisy Meadows. This time it is the The Petal Fairies series, with Tia the Tulip Fairy as the first book. While the stories are basically the same and follow a simple formula, they are entertaining for young girls who are starting to read and I love that our oldest is just ripping through them.

These just came out to the U.S and to my library and I wouldn't read them without Tia because I didn't want to read them out of order. So not only did I read Tia today, but I couldn't stop. I read all 7 in the Petal Fairy series. They're great books. Obviously they're easy to read since I read all seven in one day. But easy or not, all books can be good!

In this book a girl named Rachel and her best friend Kristy were going on spring vacation. They were staying in a hotel that had a very pretty garden. Soon they asked their parents if they could explore the garden, and they said yes. When they arrived at the garden the flowers were beautiful, but somehow they were not as pretty as last year’s. Kristy and Rachel also noticed that the flowers were wilting a bit. As they went to see the tulips they heard a cry. The cry seemed to be coming from the tulips, and when they looked closer there was a fairy inside the tulip named Tia and she was crying. Kristy and Rachel had been on many other fairy adventures and were happy to go on another one. Then Rachel asked why was Tia crying and Tia said that her magic petal is missing, and without her petal the flowers will be forever wilting to a side. Soon Tia led Kristy and Rachel to the the castle where fairy’s live, and where Kristy and Rachel figured out that Jack Frost and his goblins stole not only Tia’s magic petal but also many different magic petals. Only with all the magic petals the flowers won’t be wilting. What will Kristy Rachel and Tia do!? READ THE BOOK TO FIND OUT!!!

Daisy Meadows and her fairies are my childhood. I collected so many in my youth, knowing all the fairies and their importance, and sticking with the two special girls who go to be a part of the magic.
Years ago I had to give my beautiful collection away, now still part of my childhood school where little girls are picking their favourite fairies and playing pretend. It's fun to hear stories from my old teachers telling me how over the years so many students have grabbed these books and fallen in love with the tales of two girls, Jack Frost and the fabulous glittering magic that is the fairies.
On Christmas last year, my sister surprised me with a boxset of these books, but cause you cannot collect these darlings as easily anymore. I was over the moon!
If anyone has a little one who needs a little magic in their life, wants to read and needs a big creation to be hooked on...it is Daisy Meadows!

loved these as a child. found my copy and thought on would give them one more read. it's time they go to a new home for someone else to enjoy. Still enjoy them as an adult but I finish them far too quickly to get the same amount of enjoyment as before.

These get to be a little repetitious after awhile. The girls shrink they go to fairy world they help the fairies find what is missing so that everything can go back to normal.

Fairies and flowers are a good mix. The Jack Frost and goblins are getting a bit old. It would be nice to see the fairies and the girls face some different challenges once in a while.

Jack Frost stole all seven of the petals that belong to the Petal Fairies. The petals make sure all of the flowers stay alive a long time and that they're even there at all. Rachel and Kristy find Tia the Tulip Fairy o their trip to Garden Hall, a place where they were on vacation. There is a huge beautiful garden, but some of the flowers are fading away. Rachel and Kristy find the tulip petal with Tia and the goblins find it too. The goblins are standing under the tree that the petal is in. Rachel and Kristy get turned into fairies by Tia and fly up to the petal trying not to be seen. But one of the goblins sees Kristy and points his magical wand at her. The wand makes a huge wind and it blows Kristy and the other fairies away. It also blows the petal away. When Rachel and Kristy get it back, the goblins do another spell but they were holding the wand the wrong way and the wind pointed at them instead of the fairies!

Tia the Tulip Fairy is the first book in the Petal Fairy series by the four author team Diasy Meadows. If these books has been written by only one author I think it would have been impossible to have them as different as they are. With so many "Fairy" books, all along the same lines, I really was expecting to be bored out of my mind with the second series (for us) and I'm not.
This is just as good, IMO and in Julia's opinion as well. She wanted to keep reading and reading and this, of course, makes Mommy VERY happy. :-D
We're starting Pippa the Poppy Fairy later today. I have no doubt this series will be just as good as the Rainbow Fairy series.

This is the first series of books my four-year-old daughter has truly been in to and despite the fact that any adult will find them mind-numblingly boring, it is still exciting to see a preschooler light up in delight because she gets to read her chapter book with Mommy before bed. I'm sure we will slog our way through all seven of the Petal Fairy books and the true blessing here is that each book is only about 80 pages and can be read in a week or less...only to be turned in at the library for the next installment...

(My overall review for the rainbow magic series)

These books were so magical to me as a child. They really got me into reading and I was so addicted. They helped me learn the colours of the rainbow and entertained me for several years. The books aren't very good. I've tried reading them again because I was interested in what I saw in them. The books are very similar and repetitive but to child version of me, they were completely perfect!

My favorite part of this book is when Tia the Tulip Fairy and her friends, got Tia's petal back from the twig in the tree. The mean goblins had stolen the magic tulip petal from Tia and her friends and got it stuck in the tree.

Kirsty and Rachel helped Tia find all the petals for the tulip flower. I liked the book because Kirsty and Rachle and Tia worked together and it was an adventure. They went to lots of places to find petals.
