Loving Miranda

Rate this book
Teresa Bodwell returns to the Old West to continue the story of the Chases and the Buchanans, whom she introduced in Loving Mercy.

Miranda Chase can't refuse when her pregnant sister asks her to return to their Colorado ranch, though her sister's new family is a painful reminder of everything Miranda knows she'll never have. She'll travel to the ends of the earth to protect Mercy's newfound happiness—even if it means sweet-talking Benjamin Lansing, whose claim to Mercy's ranch reaches beyond money. But despite Miranda's distrust of the man, the sweet words come easily, as do the kisses.

Ben isn't looking for love—and certainly not with Miranda, who is as pure and innocent as a spring flower. She has no need of a hardened man like him. All he wants is to collect what's owed to him and be on his way. But Miranda's soft touch is temptation indeed, and loving her—for now and forever—just might be what he's truly wanted all along.

Oh my god. Not what I normally read, but given a chance due to a book donation to us. Uh.. yeah. This isn't my cup of tea.

29. I didn't enjoy this as well as Teresa Bodwell's other book, Loving Mercy. A poor plot with holes, inconsistent writing and too many similar instances to her first book made this book hard to read. I'm hoping that this book was rushed to have a second book and that her following books will continue with the enjoyable writing of her first. Will keep this author on my watch list.

Miranda returns to the family farm to help her sister and father. Along the way, she meets an artist just back from the Civil War. He is injured and she is attracted to him, however, his family has bad blood between Miranda's family and his.

This is a lovely written tale of romance in the old West during the aftermath of the Civil Wars.
