This book is geared towards high school students (maybe sophomores) in England in the 1940s. A knowledge of Latin and Greek is assumed (!). Although it's a bit dry as biblical commentary, it is a very solid exposition of the Acts of the Apostles, including many historical and geographical details to help complete the picture. It also spends some time on the epistles of St. Paul and others, making connections between the journeys of St. Paul, his sufferings, and death with the writing of his letters. Less time is spent on the other epistles and St. John's Apocalypse. All in all, a surprisingly erudite text which far surpasses anything I was taught when I went to a Catholic high school in the 1980s. This was volume 6 of 7 such volumes. I'd love to read the other 6.
