4 stars for the entire series, especially for the stunning artwork.
I would say this is one of those rare Hwang Mi Ri manhwa where the girl, though naïve, doesn't always act idiotically. I liked the plot, it did not feel unnecessarily stretched as many other manhwa. This one has a good fantasy-historical plot. I liked the main characters, and the art is awesome.

As with all my manga reviews, this covers the entire series and may contain spoilers.

Crazy Girl Shin Bia is quite a fun, engaging read! I've revisited the series from start to finish several times. It's not quite as epic as a historical comic as the likes of something like Red River, Vol. 1 but it has good atmosphere and to a western reader, the far-off historic Korea of around 1000 CE or so, give a take a few centuries, is a refreshing setting.

This setting features a time travel element and a few elements of fantasy--there's a spirit world, the Bia from the past could see the future, the Bia from the future is capable of healing, etc.--but it compliments the narrative and doesn't overshadow it or feel at odds with it.

The beginning starts off rocky because Bia is pretty unlikable. She's quick to violence, she's greedy, she's crass, she can behave pretty stupidly, and she's kind of unhygienic... but her personality levels out the further into the story we get, which is nice, and I think it's a good part of her arc and really shows how she comes to thrive in her new environment. She's still defiant and unafraid to use her fists, and has moments of inelegance because she's crazy about food, but she becomes more tolerable and at times is even relatable and charming.

The basic premise revolves around Bia getting thrown back in time to replace the an alternate version of herself, Celestial Lady Bia, by taking on her identity so that the crown prince to whom the alternate Bia was engaged, Yoobaek, is able to ascend the throne and keep the kingdom from turmoil.

The bulk of the plot revolves around Bia struggling to slip into her alternate self's life while keeping it a secret, her many attempts to return home, how she is drawn into the political strife of this new world, and how she ultimately falls in love with Yoobaek and her new home, putting her at odds with her desires to return to her own time period, especially when additional conflicts arise--like Yoobaek discovering that Bia is a doppleganger who replaced the original and a prince from a fallen country attempting to wage war against Yoobaek in his pursuit to obtain Bia and restore his own kingdom with her as his queen.

Yoobaek and Muyeong are interesting love interest and rival characters, and the conflicts that arise because Bia is from another time period make for an engaging read. There are also a few rivals, like a foreign princess and a secret agent handmaiden, who add some comedy and obstacles into the mix. Despite the flaws, it kept my attention and I wanted to see what would happen next.

It's not a super complex narrative and a lot of the elements are common if you watch a lot of historical dramas, but this comic still manages to do them in a nicely entertaining way. Overall, it's a decent comic to revisit when I'm in the mood for something lighter.

I will also mention that there are some triggers. Bia is nearly sexually assaulted a few times (ripped clothes, pinned on bed, vague eluding to being attracted to her, etc.), but it's not that graphic. Bia also is the victim of some mildly graphic violence; she's brutally whipped in one scene and she attempts suicide by slashing her wrist in another. There's also some animal death and some general fantasy violence.

I would recommend a read if you like historical series with a comedic tone and can overlook the more unpolished aspects of the writing and art.

It’s been quite a long time since I read Mi-Ri Hwang’s manhwa. Last one was A tackle on my life back in January. But this one held my interest for a whole day, and I even missed going to the post office just to read it to the end and find out how it all ended. First of all, this is a historical romance, which I started by pure chance (at the time I was more engrossed in books). Truth be told I was still coming down from reading Red River twice, that’s why my manga choice was to read a historical one, and I still have some on my reading list.

But let me get back to the story. I really loved and enjoyed it. It was fun, with lots of action and many kissing scenes. And I guess because I took quite a long time off from reading Mi-Ri Hwang’s books none of the characters felt the same and I could even remember most of their names. Plus it was a miracle that I didn’t confuse anyone! Yes, it really is something to celebrate! Let me tell you the plot briefly and then I will move on some other stuff. The plot is quite simple: Shin Bia is a normal high schooler, well normal if we count that she can defeat every gangster in the high school, one day she crosses paths with a rich kid and somehow ends up jumping out of the window. Yup, she is crazy, but instead of dying she ends up in an alternate world, where she has to take the place of her alternate self (long story about the alternative Bia, so better read the story) and become the empress of Ju empire. Interesting? You don’t say, as the more you get to know our characters the more fascinating the story becomes!

So, let’s meet our characters: Shin Bia – aka the Celestial Bia aka the crazy girl aka the glutton aka the impostor. She was a character that I wholeheartedly enjoyed. I loved her spunk and sometimes her unreasonable behaviour, but I really loved watching how she was falling in love with Yoo Baek (that’s the crown prince) and then feeling awful, as she knew he loved the real Celestal Bia and not her. Are you ready to follow her on the journey in an alternate world and be present when she embarrasses herself or does something out of this world? But before I let you go to read this awesome story let us meet our male protagonist – Yoo Baek – aka the crown prince aka the tyrant aka the perverted demon. I really love the last title as he went by it in the beginning of the story. He’s a really likable character and you just love how those two are together. He was a bit disappointing when he finds out that Bia is not his real Bia, but his confession made my heart flutter like crazy!

There are many more interesting characters, but I won’t be talking about them. Another thing that I really loved about this story was the ending. It actually has one, though I would have loved to see a bit more, it was still very satisfying. Are you ready for 19 volumes of fun, adventure, action and tons of romance? I sure hope you are! Enjoy it to its fullest and don’t forget to share your thoughts below! Stay tuned for more reviews as well as promos. Don’t miss your next favourite book or manga! Happy reading!

XOXO

**This review is for the entire series. I started just adding the first volume from manga titles because, well, do you realize just how many volumes of One Piece there are?!**

Crazy Girl Shin Bia is one of the funniest manga I have ever read. The drawing is absolutely phenomenal, the romance is moving, and the plot is compelling. The characters are well-thought out, and their actions and thoughts are relateable. The ending is super sad, though; cried my eyes out. (Sounds like Furuba! aka Fruits Basket...)

Anyway, I've read a lot of manga, and I can say that this manga is one of the best I've ever read. If you haven't read Shin Bia and you enjoy shoujo titles, add this to your to-read pile!!

The first time I've read this manga was probably around 10 years ago? Can't believe it is actually on goodreads lol (i didn't know manga/manhwa was on here tbh). Anyways, I was just getting into my teens and getting into my anime/manga phase and then I stumbled across this work. I was absolutely amazed by the art style and the storyline. It gripped me like no other!
I actually read this manhwa probably around once a year, that's how much I love it! I know the main character, Shin Bia, can be dumb af and annoying, but even so, there is a certain charm she has. But, my God, I am still actually in love with 2 main love interests! Yoo Baek and Mu Yeong are both amazing opposites. The ending made me extremely happy but also crushed me. I won't say why, but I really recommend this work of art to anyone, even if it's annoying at first, stay for the whole ride, it's worth it!

The characters, plot, art, and dialog are all AWFUL (1/5 across the board). Its one of the most contrived manga ever scratched out by a drunk chicken with a pen taped to its foot. That being said, I kinda love it. Its one of those things that is so bad its good again. This is why negative scales are important. On the how-much-do-you-love-this-terrible-thing scale it would be a -4/-5. Need a really really shitty romance to pick you up? You found it. If this story knows nothing else, it knows not to take itself (or its copious amounts of drama) seriously. Drunken-drama-queen-teen pops into feudal China so she can get into fist fights with princeses and lead the pretty-boy-love-struck-hunk around by the nose because he thinks shes his MIA one-true-love with memory loss. Throw is some magic and over the top stakes for flair. I have front row seats for this dumpster fire so pass the wine.

Oh Crazy Shin Bia once you start reading you wont be able to put it down its a epic book that has every genera in it; mostly comedy, romance, fantasy/ supernatural, action, and adventure. Its a little complicated at the beginning and makes your head spine but its worth it and you get used to it. It's an amazing book and you should defiantly read it. (Even though i am picky about the illustration of the books i read i kept reading and glad i did so for anyone else who is like me keep reading it)

It was entertaining, but I didn't like the extended part after the last chapter. Just kinda ruined it, so I had to pretend I never read that part haha
Like it just showed her going back to her dumb and bratty ways after all of that crazyness. I like stories where the main character matures through out the story, and it had that sense a tiny bit. Wasn't the best, but it was okay. worth the read.

Read some time ago. Actually tried to read twice and both times failed. Maybe further plot is kinda interesting, but main heroine is one of most annoying fictional characters. Starting with being orphan and whining about that in every situation, but yet beating everyone felt even for second sad about that. In ancient world she doesn't seem smarter.. more like annoying spoiled brat.

The premise is good and this reminds me of Fushigi Yuugi. Now, that is my favorite Anime of all time *swooning over hotohiri*.

I hope this series is good. I love time travelling and looks like this is one of them. Bia as the main character is so funny. She reminds me of Miaka but a stronger one. I mean, she knows martial arts and can defend herself.

Finished the whole series of this book. It was pretty great, how it comes to one ordinary girl is chosen to take place of this other girl. I'd love how, Bia gets into lots of trouble and somehow her prince keeps on coming to save her.

Marking 1/19 volumes I've read
Typical HMR story with mediocre plotline but the cast of hotties managed to pull the story up, at least for me.
And yes, still drowning in a pool of tears over that incident at the end. I'll cope...

Magnifico! Este manga es increíble, sobre todo la protagonista :3 no es la típica chica enamoradiza que anda de loca xD. La historia es interesante, estoy ansiosa por leer el siguiente volumen.
