The Healing Power of Forgiveness: *Let Go of Your Hurt *Experience Renewed Relationships *Find New Intimacy with God

Rate this book
Few Christians realize nearly every problem in life stems from an unwillingness to forgive someone. When we hold grudges, seek retribution, and blame others, we end up hurting our relationships with God and people--and short-circuit our ability to live the Christian live the way it's meant to be lived. Why is forgiveness so difficult at times? Must we forgive when it's the other person's fault? How should we handle repeat offenses? What if we feel we can't forgive because we've been hurt so badly? Pritchard answers these questions and more by pointing to God's example as the Supreme Forgiver. When we learn to forgive in the way He forgives, then we'll know true freedom, peace, and emotional healing.

This is a book that will stay on my most used book shelf. In fact, within a month of finishing this book I had loaned it to a friend who was struggling with forgiveness issues. Ray Pritchard does an excellent job of covering this topic from a biblical perspective. He does so in a way that encourages the reader to act on what he is learning and to begin the process of healing from the hurts of the past through forgiveness. If you or someone you know is struggling to forgive, this book is a great place to go to understand the issues and to be set free from the bondage that is unforgiveness. I highly recommend it.

I picked this up for sermon prep. I'm really impressed with the honesty and helpfulness of this book. Pritchard doesn't give pat answers and hits controversial and real questions head on. This is a great guidebook to those who are carrying a load of unforgiveness around with them.

This is still on top of books i've read on forgiveness. The language is very simple, easily understandable. When you start reading the book, don't forget to keep a pencil around you. You will need to do a lot of underlining.

I heard Ray Pritchard speak on topics from this book years ago, 5? maybe 10? and what he said remains with me. It was a powerful word. I remembered it today, and need to read this book.
