Rate this book
There are many books that help unions navigate the difficult waters of representing members. There are guides to workers' compensation, the Family and Medical Leave Act, grievances, arbitrations, and legal rights in general. Unfortunately, even as unions face serious threats to their very existence, there are few texts available that actually show union leaders how to make their unions more powerful and better able to fight.Union Power Tools is a short and hard-hitting book designed to show union leaders exactly how to build more powerful unions. It does this by focusing on four specific improving internal communication, fighting effectively and incrementally, running effective meetings, and recruiting leaders. The author, Ashley Adams, knows of what he writes. He has organized and trained tens of thousands of union members, in dozens of locals, across public- and private-sector unions.
