Sallust was a Neoplatonic philosopher who flourished in the fourth century A.D. and is said to have written the present work for the benefit of Emperor Julian. Taylor's added notes and commentaries give valuable insights into the essential meaning, which is often obscure in the actual texts. This volume also includes translations of The Pythagoric Sentences of Demophilus and Proclus' Five Hymns, along with Five Hymns by Thomas Taylor; it is a photographic facsimile of the extremely scarce original edition of 1795.

Thomas Taylor was an English translator and Neoplatonist, the first to translate into English the complete works of Aristotle and of Plato, as well as the Orphic fragments. He published prolifically for over 50 years.

This is the book I was looking for! Sallust theology is a great opportunity to look into what's left of Iamblichus' theology after "On the Gods" has been lost. It provides a good, specific framework to deal with the 12 Olympians from a Neoplatonic perspective, something that was missing in my life. It connects the 12 Olympians to their divine roles and their physical manifestation and does it extremely well. It has interesting ethical discussions and good ol' platonic theology.
I still need to read Proclus but this is a good short intro.

I enjoyed the other small texts, especially the Pythagoric sentences.
