I think the Thea Stilon books are very interesting. So I think you should buy one Thea Stilon book too!
Merged review:
I think this book is great! the parts I like the most is when the professer was floating like a balloon and there were rebellious robots causing trouble.
this is one of the ones that i’ve never read before bc my school library never had it lol and omg this was SO GOOD SHUT UP yeah the thea sisters are genuinely the best part of my life currently let’s not talk about that
Being a children's book, I feel like it's really horrible. Kids can barely read and write as it is.Giving them a book full of nonsense words certainly doesn't seem like it would help matters. There would also be pages of factoids stuck in the middle of a sentence, just making it a pain.
Unfortunately, this one does not measure up to other titles I've read in the series. Clunky writing (i.e. a character strokes her fur thoughtfully while she's in a spacesuit?) and not as exciting.
This mystery was a flop for me. Although I did get excited by some of the stakes and Ricky Newsmouse and Ian Focus's subplot, the culprit got spoiled in one illustration, and there was too much technology that I don't think could have been possible in 2008, let alone now. A younger kid might get behind it more, but I couldn't.
P.S. I love the name Ian Focus and will be adapting it for a future project. P.P.S. This is another mystery that was published later in Italy then in the US.
Sorry, I haven't read this book, but the cover is so, to co-opt a phrase from Linkara, "of course, don't you know anything about SCIENCE?!" bad that I just have to critique it. First off, the cast is floating like they're in zero (or near zero, as true zero G doesn't exist anywhere where there's mass) gravity. Sure, the moon has lower gravity, but it's not so low that it's basically not there! ONE SIXTH DOES NOT EQUAL ZERO, DAMI.) Also, while the characters are floating, their hair isn't. Space is warped and time is bendable indeed! Third, LOOK AT HOW CLOSE THE EARTH IS! I'm surprised the moon's proximity (based on how big Earth looks in the picture) hasn't wreaked havoc on the tides and weather! Fourth, they're on the day side of the moon ( and somehow STILL facing a fully-lit Earth), yet there are stars in the sky. I know that the lack of stars is a common claim conspiracy theorists use to try to debunk the Apollo landings, but in fact, the combination of sunlight, light reflecting off the moon, and light from Earth sufficiently blocks out starlight. Fifth, the sky on the moon is apparently not black, but dark blue, as if the moon has an Earthlike atmosphere. YOU FAIL ASTRONOMY FOREVER, DAMI. I don't know if this book's any good, but based on my past experiences with this series and related ones, if I ever DO get this book , I'll have probably gouged my eyes out to protect my eyes from the colors, font abuse, awful puns, and scientific discrepancies. Bismuth out.
I would recommend this book because, at first, the Thea Sisters thought that the mystery would be solved when they figured out why everything was malfunctioning, but then in the end it turns out completely different. This took me completely by surprise....it is the reason why I love this book so much.
I thought this book was really good because the book has a lot of action in it! There was a new mystery and it was not about something that had taken place a long time ago. There also was a lot of adventure. Also, the book itself was very pretty...some of the words actually shine!
She noticed Paulina’s bewildered expression and explained, “Space tourism is a billion-dollar business. It is very important that Mr. Smith’s competitors don’t get their paws on his project’s trade secrets!”
*REREAD at 2020*
I almost thought that this book would be the-so-called-kid’s adventure version of Apollo 13. It was a bit suspenful on some parts of the story. But it keeps me on the edge of my grip, you know.
another fun read for the younger audience. Solid info re: space travel, the moon, etc. presented in easy to read, small blocks. Interesting too to see that when offered a gift of anything wanted the response was to ask for clean up of space junk v some material rewarad.
This was a space adventure it had some fun facts about space and planets along with the plot of the story but it wasn’t developed well I personally feel it was very simple common and childish but it was a rebellious adventure with robots.
I really like the series. It is very fun trying to solve the mysteries before the characters, or just following along with them. This series is a fun book for younger children, and is quite short and easy to read.
I really liked it.That was a good story. It has a good plot and that was my favorite thing about the book.Geronimo stilton is also really good.At first is was a little slow and boring. But then it became better.Geronimo Stilton is also really good.Hope you enjoy this book!
Didn't ever wanna go to the moon but reading about it is fun! This is fun. Although slow paced, the information/trivias you can get inside make up for it. I also really loved the designs inside. Makes it look like a journal.
Adventure to space! A lot of it might not make sense if compared to reality. Good for kids to read. Not up to the mark usual exciting plot but if you like imaginary stories based a little off of reality and a little on it, give it a go. Try out Ghost of the Shipwreck - its better.
This was the first Thea Stilton book I read and also the first chapter book I ever read. I obviously really like this book because of those reasons but I also like it because I really like space and the moon and robots and those are all in this book.
I'm reading this series with my 8 year old daughter, and she really likes it. There are parts of it that I do too. This wasn't one of my favorite in the series but it was OK.
It is a really interesting book.it doesn't have much mystery It has only one shock in between, which describes the whole scene . So I would give it 4 stars only
