Forensic engineering is an important field within civil engineering and the demand for professionalism and technical accuracy is universal. This proceedings, Indo-U.S. Forensic Investigation Techniques and Technology, is a collection of papers presented at the First Indo-U.S. Forensic Engineering Workshop held at the National Institute of Technology in Tiruchirappalli, India, December 15-17, 2010. Organized jointly by the ASCE Technical Council on Forensic Engineering (TCFE), the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and the National Institute of Technology at Tiruchirappalli, this workshop exemplifies the international collaboration between India and the United States in the area of forensic engineering and the state of the practice in both countries. Topics include investigation techniques, non-destructive testing technologies, and case studies in structural and geotechnical engineering.
