This was the worst textbook I have ever read.
There were grammatical errors throughout the text, there were highlighted words that were neither in the glossary of terms or the index, and there were subjects or points made in the chapter summary section, that had NEVER been mentioned in the chapter at all. Additionally, the use of jargon is insufferable, this book uses jargon the way bloggers name drop celebrities. This was supposed to be an introductory text book, but it's written as if you already have an understanding of the topics and programs. Furthermore, every case study in the text feels like an advertisement for a program and was less then helpful in explaining Business Intelligence to someone who knows little to nothing about it. Lastly, the editing of this text is non-existent. It appears that the publication company asked 3 people to write the same book, but none of the writers were aware of the existence of the other two. When all the copy came into the production company, they simply slammed everything together and hoped for the best.
This book rambles and double backs on it self so often you would think it was a bad mystery novel.
If you are looking for a book to introduce you to Business Intelligence for use in business at a managerial level, might I suggest ANY other book available. It barely explains anything and is difficult to follow much less glean any useful knowledge from.
AND if you happen to sign up for a business class that uses this book, see if you can take the class with another professor, don't waste your time or sanity.

This was a textbook I read for class, and I'm only really including it on my Goodreads, because I don't want the readings I've been doing for class to throw off my book count for the year.

Also, I find it somewhat hilarious that while I'm not supposed to cite or reference Wikipedia articles in my writing for class, but this textbook is able to get away with it.
