The taking of Zion is a gripping illustration of how you will penetrate, surmount, and overcome the obstacle that looms before you. Joab took the stronghold of Zion by penetrating it and opening the city gate from the inside.
Bob Sorge is “the speaker who can’t talk”—that is, he is reduced to a whisper because of a debilitating vocal injury he suffered over 20 years ago. Through the journey, God has given him an empowering message that explores God’s purposes in fiery trials. It’s not the fire that changes you but your pursuit of God in the fire that changes you. Bob has a unique way of helping us process our journey so we stay in the race and overcome. Whether you’re reading one of his books or listening to him, you’re about to receive a message from the heart of God that will strengthen your faith and draw you into greater intimacy with Jesus.
Incredible! The moment I finished, I decided I would start back at the beginning and take my time...really digest and apply the lessons so that I can conquer those strongholds! Thank you, Bob Sorge, for laying down your life for so many of us. You are a gift to the kingdom!
A great encouragement to any believer who is fighting to overcome formidable obstacles! Sorge at the time of writing had been praying 18 years to overcome a physical infirmity yet has an unshakable hope that God will answer him. He writes about David's conquest to re-take Jerusalem despite Jebusite occupation and opposition, and argues that this is an allegory for how believers are to take their own strongholds in life. Very applicable to my current battles with fear. A helpful read for those interested in deliverance or in need of a boost to persevere.
