Diary of a Psychic: Shattering the Myths

Rate this book
A fascinating and revealing look at the everyday life of a psychicSonia Choquette discovered her psychic abilities as a young child. Gifted from birth, she was able to see beyond the veil of the inner workings of her family members’, friends’, and neighbors’ lives. While still a teenager, she began to give readings, amazing her clients with her psychic insights. Seeking to deepen her skills, she studied with two master psychic/spiritual teachers and began to see beyond predictions of the future . . . into the causes of the future. With the help of a group of spiritual guides who have been working with her since childhood, and combining this support with metaphysical law, Sonia developed the ability to see the soul plan that each of us is born with. It became her mission to put her clients’ lives back on track, steering them through the tricky waters of romance, divorce, illness, high finance, sickness, and death. She became a soul guide for "happy endings." By pulling back the curtain and sharing her personal story, this revolutionary new teacher and world-renowned psychic shatters the myth that psychic implies psycho, and reveals the beauty and power the sixth sense holds for us all! A teacher, an author, and a storyteller, as well as a gifted psychic, Sonia Choquette is in international demand for her guidance, wisdom, and capacity to heal the soul. This is a story of the Evolution of the "6th Sense" fresh from a child's perspective. Also, this is "Just A Great Read!"

If I could give Sonia's memoir more than five stars I would. This book (and my own experience with telepathy) were enough to convince me that Sonia Choquette is genuine. It's well written and inspiring. Her story made me laugh and cry. I look forward to reading more of her books and learning about the window the universe has opened up to me—a window available to anyone. It's easy to be skeptical of any psychic who works professionally, but my intuition and common sense tell me two things: one, she is the real deal and two, that she has found her true calling.

I'm almost done with this book and I absolutely enjoyed every reading minute. Sonia's writing style is so warm and down to earth and her writing has been super helpful to me. I only paid $1.99 for this book on Kindle. What a great deal!!! I urge anyone who is interested in psychic mediums and being able to contact your own higher self, guides and angels, read her books and start with this one. The only reason I'm not finished with this book is I'm savoring it and I hate to see it end. Soon I will finish it though, because I've going to read "Soul Lessons and Soul Purpose" and "Psychic Pathways" next. I also have her "Trust Your Vibes" oracle deck and I love it. I feel like if I met Sonia I would really like her. She seems to be a very warm hearted, wise person and an authentic psychic. I know that everything I've learned from her has been right on and of benefit to me.

Sonia has been doing readings for people since she was a child and was raised by a mother who taught all her children to "trust your vibes." An enlightening look at growing up psychic and sticking to your higher purpose.

This is a difficult review to write. Because of all the unusual and unseen she describes. It is a memoir of her first 33 years in one sense, but from an earlier mid-century childhood, born in 1957. She is in her 60's now. With the mores fully of that era too in her large birth family sized life. But it encapsulates dozens of different esoteric, mental, spiritual mind directive components she has experienced. Detail of mentors and teachers was excellent.

She has a strange style with prose flow content that speaks far more to inner than to the real outer world. The depth which she defines in context to abstractions (most people would consider them maybe beyond just abstract entities or concepts) IS incredible. She does it.

I never thought about dropping this book despite quite a bit of redundancy. She doesn't need to convince me of soul centering psyche consciousness being core. The very non God botherers will have trouble with most of her acknowledged perimeters.

It must be truly draining to do some of the work she does. The separation required shows in her language choices too.

I really enjoyed this book and read it more than once. Having always felt kind of "outside" and not in the "in crowd" as a kid, and always relating better to adults than to other kids, it was interesting seeing someone who was a psychic revealing how that impacted her life from young childhood.

Curiouser & Curiouser. What an amazingly unique childhood and freedom to be who she was with the gifts she’d been given at such a young age.

I have been listening to Sonia Choquette's weekly Hay House radio show for years. She has dispensed invaluable advice with the help of her guides, as well as the guides of those who call in to her show. She has a deep and compassionate wisdom combined with a knowing that you can feel is coming from her connection to higher levels of consciousness.

I have read many of her books including Trust Your Vibes, Walking Home, and her latest Waking Up In Paris. Her books never disappoint. She takes the reader along with her through her beautifully descriptive scenery and characters. She propels you into different realms of being, thinking, and feeling.

Diary Of A Psychic: Shattering The Myths takes things to a whole different level. Reading about her journey in the psychic world from childhood to adult was mind blowing. Sonia has a gift and she shows us how she nurtured it to become such a powerful psychic and teacher. She grew up in a household where her mother was psychic and helped cultivate Sonia's interest in the spiritual realm.

Sonia Choquette leads us through her colorful clients and how she helped them. She brings us along to meet the teachers who trained her. She even brings us to the scene of a murder that almost curtailed her journey. There were times throughout the book that I felt pangs in my heart about the very adult situations this then teen psychic was presented with. But it was also heartening to hear about how she came to know her guides, her relationships with her family, how she manifested a prom date, and later her soul mate. Most importantly, this is a first hand account of someone living their true divine purpose.

Sonia is a skillful writer. She writes from her heart. All of her books bring you right in so you are walking her journey with her, and Diary Of A Psychic is no exception. She also has a delicious sense of humor and a palpable joy for life. Sonia found her gift of finding people's soul plan and purpose, and she is still continuing to share that gift with the world now. This is a must read.

This book helped me to come back to my own intuitive self. I have been intuitive/psychic since childhood, but didn't really claim it & didn't share my experiences with many because it seemed weird. Sonia is such a "normal" (take that however you wish!) woman - a wonderful, everyday person living an extraordinary life because she claims her birthright as a psychic & presents herself in a loving & intelligent way. Her book helped me feel good about stepping out to do the same. After reading many of her other books in my list, I became certified by Sonia as a Six-Sensory Practitioner (TM) - http://www.LiveInsideOut.com.
I am very grateful to her for her writing & guidance.

This book is fascinating because it's the most sensitive, funny, heartwarming perspective on being a psychic and belonging to the psychic world I have ever read. The way Sonia writes left me feeling as if I've known her forever because it really illustrates how she learned to develop and trust her gift despite what logic might tell her.
I also loved the fact that she was rather specific about her life and her readings, good or bad. I have read other peoples life stories and they are not as honest and engaging.
This book is divided into three parts:
Natural Gifts 1956-1969
My Psychic Training 1970-1974
My Own Future 1977-2003

I believe I'm soon going to purchase another one of her books.

(I would give this 6 stars if I could!!!)

Delving further into my spiritual journey, I discovered Sonia’s YouTube channel and soon picked up her works. I saw this title and thought “nah, I don’t need to read this.”

But I found that I couldn’t stop thinking about this book, so I gave in and made a little peek. I saw a chapter named “Moving to Guam.” Uh, my home island? You’ve convinced me, Sonia! [Spoiler, Sonia didn’t move to Guam :’( ]

With most nonfictions, I find that I’d have to pair it with an audiobook, but not this one! I found Sonia’s writing to be so inviting and friendly, that it was truly effortless to read. Reading her words, I found myself giggling along, like I was running around with her, and partaking in her shenanigans.

These chapters are short, but pack a punch with its main point. Reading the lessons Sonia was taught, the revelations she’s come to, her intuitive superpower, and her manifestation capabilities have lit me up and inspired me so much, that I’ve caught myself smiling from cheek to cheek, nearly to tears!

Such fun and inspiring vibes! I sincerely felt Sonia’s radiant energy through these words and as I turned to the final page, I was left influenced and exhilarated. A must read for any mystic!

Gosh, I wish I could borrow Sonia Choquette's brain for a few hours... What a fascinating woman and remarkable gift! While I'm more openminded than most, Diary of a Psychic challenged any skepticism I may harbor about psychic abilities, reincarnation, the grounding of chakras, the power of meditation, etc. So much of what she spoke about in her book is just unreal and admittedly hard to believe, but her narrative was so genuine and heartfelt that I just couldn't help but believe it. Her words made me wonder about my own soul's purpose and whether or not I'm on the right path, as well as what she would say about my past lives and their effect on my current life.

This book left me full of wonder about the universe and life itself!

Found Sonia's book "Diary of a Psychic" so deeply meaningful and touching for its richness and for my own somewhat similar life experiences. Sonia's storytelling is the cozy-up-by-the-fireplace kind of soul soothing storytelling; she has done her mentors Charlie and Tully proud certainly. Recommend this book to anyone who is similarly sensitive and finds that they doubt or disregard their innate gift. Reading this book will help you connect the dots to your spirit friends and you. And as importantly to step out of doubt and at least consider that maybe you too actually truly are intuitive.

Hands down the best book I have read in a long time. Easy to read yet challenging, entertaining yet enlightening, controversial yet hits close to home- what more can a person want in a book?
A page turner, this book has answered so many questions I’ve been having, challenged many of my beliefs, and opened doors to further reading and learning.

On a final note, I am not sure how genuine this book is and the events mentioned, but I am, nevertheless, overjoyed and grateful for the circumstances that lead me to reading it.

I took my time with this one, but really enjoyed the read. I learned a lot about the different aspects of the souls journey and got some interesting insights into developing intuition and practicing psychic abilities which I've always found fascinating. at certain points I felt that the speaker, "Sam" or Sonia was a bit self-centred or immature and did things I personally wouldn't have done, but it was a thorough autobiography that showed the growth of her character as much as it demonstrated the development of her skills.

I didn’t know who Sonia was going into reading her book, and was pleasantly surprised to learn of someone new that I really like! What a cool story of her coming into her spirituality and gifts. I learned a lot from her story and felt excited in remembering that we all harness powers. We all have the ability to feel and see, we just need to remember we are powerful beings. I look forward to reading her other books.

Awesome Read

I love this book.
Starting from when she was young and learning here psychic gifts. Loving the fact that her mom was supporting her the whole way. Many like myself were told to hide it not to share.
Her experience's and her teachers along the way and at the same time teaching us who read.
All around fun read
I truly enjoyed this so much

Phenomenal!

I've been reading about the lives of psychics and mediums for 30 years. This is one of the absolute best books I've read - period. Enlightening, nourishing and entertaining from start to finish, you will be repeatedly inspired to work toward your fullest potential. If you are ready for a big growth spurt, don't hesitate a moment longer. Follow your heart.

A warm and humble personal spiritual journey. The lessons from her two main teachers Charlie Goodman and Dr Tully, and her own life experience shaped her path as an amateur to professional psychic reader, and later a teacher, and an author. Students of hers will find familiar teachings on this book.
