This book had a huge influence on me and my relationship to the space(s) I've lived in since reading it. It caused me to rethink the mindset I see as always falling forward, always looking to move up and move on. Never investing in the present for hope (or fear) that there is something bigger and better just ahead, just around the bend, coming soon. It's a bill of goods we've been sold, a part of the consumer culture mentality.

Since reading this book, I live more along the lines of, "Plant a garden, put down roots."
