Another awesome re-read! This one was my least favorite out of the three that I have read so far; but it is still up there with the best! I am so excited to move on to Book 4 now; which is a new one for me!!! Happy New Year everyone!♥
This story centers around a curse about childbirth. Yeah, like those chicks weren't already cursed, having them gigantic Highland babies.
I found it hard to believe he didn't even test the curse once, to see if it was true. I would have! Ya know, just to make sure. No pregnancy? You're good to go!
But kudos for a Highland story that acknowledges the reality of birthing a gigantic Highland babe, in a time when the c-section rate wasn't 33%. Not everyone can so easily have six bairns, GWENDOLEN. Ya friggin' show-off. I imagine she was a bit like a waterslide after 2 or 3...
Enemies to lovers beklerken lovers to drama king adamı okumak hoş değildi. Ama kurgu açısından güzeldi yani farklı bir historical konusu olmuş sevdim. Ve güzel sözler de vardı.

Wow, I’m just amazed at what I just finished reading. I loved SEDUCED BY THE HIGHLANDER. From the moment I bought it at the store, I was excited to read it. When I discovered it was the third book in the HIGHLANDER series, I instantly bought the first two.
I discovered I didn’t much care for them, the second one in particular. Had I found the first book first, I probably wouldn’t have given this series a second thought. Needless to say when I finally picked this up to read I wasn’t too thrilled about it. I was really wrong. I wish the first two had the feel that this one had.
Playboy Laird of War, Lachlan MacDonald finally meets his match when Raonaid curses him with the ability to impregnate any woman he sleeps with and she will die during the birth on the tenth anniversary of his wife’s death, whom died in childbirth.
For three years Lachlan suffers and while he lashes out at his friends such as Angus. He leaves Angus to continue his search for Raonaid.
He believes he finds her pretending to be Lady Catherine Montgomery. She tries to claim she has no memory, but Lachlan isn’t falling for it. Going from one threat to the other, he finally agrees to take her to Angus for him to make the final decision on who she is since he was her lover.
The past five years of Lady Catherine Montgomery memory is gone. She fears all the evil things Lachlan tells her she did is true and can’t imagine ever being that way. She feels pure in her heart, other than the lingering feeling for the man accompanying her.
Up until Angus declares she’s NOT Raonaid, Lachlan has had reason to fight these funny feelings he had been feeling. Now it appears he’s kidnapped a prominent woman in society and he has nothing to keep his funny feelings down.
It’s soon clear Catherine is Raonaid’s twin sister. Angus knows of Raonaid’s location because of the rumored revolt she and his brother in law Murdoch are planning together. Angus sends Lachlan, with a warning to stay away from her, and a few other men to see her to meet her sister.
During the travel, both their feelings are put to the test and despite the curse, the warnings to him, and him not being a suitable husband for her b/c of her status they end up in bed pleasuring the other, which leads him to pulling out a second after he comes.
During the last leg of their trip, he proposes to her. She refuses b/c of his fear behind the proposal. This puts another strain on their relationship as they both take it the wrong way.
When Lachlan reaches Raonaid, he begs of her to remove the curse for he has finally found love. Raonaid laughs and informs him there was never a curse. He goes on to inform her of Catherine’s presence.
They get together later after they know the curse is fake, but when he won’t come inside her she informs him he can’t hold back for his fear of her death during childbirth. Not standing for that, she walks out.
Despite Lachlan’s fears at her meeting her sister the two hit it off, but when the story of their birth is revealed it threatens Raonaid’s composure. Asking her to stay and help return her memories, Catherine sees glimpses just before Murdoch shows up.
He shoots her in the back just before Raonaid takes him out. Holding her hand during her recovery, Lachlan learns one day of happiness with her is worth whatever might happen. Willing her to wake up, he proposes to her the right way for all the right reasons.
10 years later they have seven kids, are living with Angus and Gwen (who are also on baby number 7, and she keeps in contact with her sister and cousin.)

hmm.....this book.....if you love highland stories, you might find it entertaining.
I have read 2 more from the series. The first one Captured by the Highlander was not bad so I went on to book 2 Claimed by the Highlander with enthusiasm but was rather disappointed. The 3rd book is this one and I think it is somewhere in between the first 2 books.
This book picks up after the end of book 2, when the "witch", whose name I forgot so I will just call her the witch, failed to break up Angus and Gwen and was told to leave and never return.
Angus's Laird of War, Lachlan (just what is a Laird of War? I will have to google it), is the hero of this story. He was cursed by the same said witch that if any woman who slept with him would conceive and die at childbirth, which was how Lachlan's first wife died many years ago. Ever since Lachlan had been looking for the witch to lift the curse because he could not have sex. (Seriously, this is his single motive in most of the book)
Then entered an heiress, Catherine, who had lost her memory but was returned home after 5 long years. She looked eerily like the witch. Lachlan found her and of course immediately assumed that Catherine was the witch. And so on and so forth. Witch or no witch? Sex or no sex? To do or not to do, that is the question.
I was really scared that Catherine would turn out to be the witch. In book 2 the witch was really evil, I mean, wicked kind of evil. I just didn't know how Julianne Maclean was going to redeem such an evil character. I did not like book 2 so much so I wasn't crazy about the part when Lachlan brought Catherine to Angus and Gwen. And how the book wrapped up.....I was rolling my eyes. Really, Lachlan?
I finished the book because Julianne MacLean can write. It is not a chore to read her stories. I do hope to see more depth in her future stories. Her stories are usually very sexual and it can only carry a writer so far.
If I had to go riding with a Highlander I would maim every horse but his so I could ride nestled in his lap :)
This series truly got better with every book. In this, the third and final installment of MacLean's Highlander Trilogy, Lachlan MacDonald has been cursed by the oracle Raonaid. The curse is truly cruel and hits close to home for Lachlan. He has spent 3 years searching for Raonaid with the intention of getting her to remove the curse, by any means necessary. But when Lachlan finally finds Raonaid she is not the woman he remembers.
From chapter 1 of this book I was on the edge of my seat waiting to find out what will happen next. At one stage I couldn't imagine how it was all going to work out and I read 2/3 of the book before I would allow myself to put it down because I HAD to know where it was all going.
I LOVED Lachlan, he is an amazing character that you fall instantly in love with. He is a real charmer and even though he is a fictional character he even charmed me. What I liked most was that he kept his head with Catherine, he was mean to her (and rightly so considering he thought she was Raonaid) but still a gentleman. I also respect him greatly for keeping himself in line when it came to the curse, a lot of men wouldn't have cared.
Catherine was, for me, one of the most interesting characters. Her memory loss made it difficult to know who she really was and that made the story even more exciting. She is a strong woman who is determined to find her way and even when Gwen gives her a cold reception she holds her own and keeps her head up. I also liked that she was willing to accept the fact that she really was Raonaid but was sure she would not be the same vindictive person if that was the case.
It was great to see Angus and Gwen again, and I give MacLean props for her understanding of character building. Angus still didn't forgive easily or trust Lachlan at all, while Gwen was still the sweet, trusting person we know from the last book.
Warning!! This book contains excitement, secrets and romance that will keep you on the edge of your seat!
I will start by saying that I didn't enjoy this book as much as the previour two. I have always hated any stories that contain memory loss I'm not sure why, but I never like it. In the first 35% of the book I was (and I hate to say this) actually quite bored. I had no idea what was going on, who was who and the back and forth of 'I am not Raonaid' 'You are Raonaid' 'I am not Raonaid' just got on my nerves. After that though it started to pick up a bit. i have always had a soft spot for Lachlan and had high hopes for his story. I hated that Raonaid put such horrible curse on him, when she knew how close it was to his past. She knew how much it would devastate him and she went ahead with it anyway, not that's a cold hearted bitch! I just didn't really get the whole 'Now I have a family I am a completely different person, I have changed completely, in a day'. It just didn't sit right with me. I did love Lachlan and how he behaved. He remained celibate for three years because of the curse even though it was killig him. I'm still not sure if I liked Catherine or not. I did like that she was so feisty, speaking her mind and not afraid if she pisses people off. She was also quite sexual one things got going which is always a bonus. But there's just something in the back of mind that didn't like her anywhere near as much as Amelia and Gwedolen. It was great to see Angus and Gwen again and the amount of sex they muxt have been having to have Six kids and one more on the way, WOW that's a lot of rolling in the hay lol. I did enjoy reading this book but my initial boredom reduced the rating.
Wow...really glad I pushed through after reading, and being somewhat underwhelmed by, the first book in this series, "Captured.." This one was so engaging. And holy shit, I don't think I have EVER read anything as hot as that scene in chapter 27. Seriously, scorchingly sexy. I may never recover. :-)
This book is the literary equivalent of your favorite band dropping a surprise album, and it’s just… kazoo covers. The rest of the series was brilliant, but this? Plot holes big enough to drive a truck through, characters acting like they’ve been body-snatched, and an ending so bad I thought my Kindle glitched. Here’s hoping the next one gets us back on track because this train wreck wasn’t it.
Lachlan MacDonald thinks he has found the seductive witch he has been searching for for three years in Catherine Montgomery. Believing Catherine to be the witch who cursed him, he threatens to have the curse be upon her as well as him. Catherine suffers from amnesia and doesn't remember her past. She has been told she is the Montgomery heiress, but she feels like a woman who has stepped into another woman's shoes. Desperate to find answers to her past, she tells Lachlan she will travel with him to meet Angus, the Lion, to find out if she was Angus's lover. But the growing attraction between Lachlan and Catherine may lead to the fulfillment of the wretched curse.
The growing love between Lachlan and Catherine is a self-searching love. Catherine feels she cannot fully love Lachlan without knowing her past. Lachlan feels he cannot love her as long as he fears the curse. Together they reach out to each other and support each other. On Catherine's twenty-fifth birthday, her inheritance will go to her, but if she does not live, then the inheritance goes to the Jacobite cause. And what of the visions of a baby and a grave, which she sees incomplete glimpses of when she is near the standing stones. The subplots thicken as Catherine and Lachlan both race to find the answers. The romance plot is seductive and the heat level is high. A thoroughly enjoyable audiobook narrated by Antony Ferguson, who did very well with the characters' voices and emotions. This is the third novel in a five book set. Adult content and language.
This is one of the best Adult Romance that I read since a long time! I really appreciated this trilogy and I wish that Julianne MacLean wrote more books for this series. I was sad to know that there weren't more books for this series. When I finished Claimed by the Highlander last summer, I was super excited to know that there was another book coming up! I waited so long to learn what would happen to Lachlan with this surprising curse!
The characters were great; Lachlan is an awesome highlander and he's description fit what I made up in my mind = Strong, courageous, fearless, handsome and a true warrior. I like the fact that he's determined to lift up his curse and work pretty hard on himself to make it happen.
Catherine was an interesting characters; Pretty and girlie, I like the fact that she's not a kick-ass or some kind of warrior girl like Gwendolyn and Amelia (These two have a strong personality, but Catherine's more relaxed and tranquil: I think she reflected more the women from this time). She's unique in this series: she's suffering of amnesia and I think that add a lot to the plot (well d'uh!).
The plot was different from most of Highlander story that I read since some time! I really love Paranormal Romance and Seduced by the Highlander is more romantic than paranormal. But this series have something else that makes it up of the bunch. I think the plot, the characters and the imagination of the author really keep me hanging on. I think the author really discerned what I like in romance and put it all in this trilogy!
What that bother me was that l discovered early some interesting part of the overall progress, but that didn't stop me from reading the book until the end! The author still managed to surprise me with several important elements of the book. So if you love your books fill up with romance and handsome highlanders, this series is for you! :)
Picked this book up on a whim at Walmart because I was in the mood for a good, (hunky) highlander romance. This was part of a series and I picked it up anyway. Turned out to be book three of a trilogy, but didn't feel it disrupted the story. There were brief mentions of the past and the epilogue updated previous characters as well.
For me, this book had a lot of potential and for more than half of the book I was glued. The plot was excellent. A witch placed a curse on hero and he spent years hunting her down. When he found her THINGS changed. Several twists, but I figured out where this was going and that's exactly where it went, but enjoyed the first half of the book.
The second half was a nightmare and very very very boring. The heroine became the "chaser" in the relationship and I didn't like that at all. There was a great deal of recapping. A scene would play out then, the characters would relay what happened--in great detail--to each other. Really? There was a lot of NOTHING in the second half of the book until the very end. The ending was closed quickly and left me with, "That's it?" It felt as if wrapping up the story was not very well thought out and just left me with the fly in the coke bottle effect.
First half of the book: 4 stars Second half of the book: 2 stars Overall rating: 3 stars
Overall: So when starting this book, i was a little disappointed because i thought the story was going down a bad road and then the twist happened with Catherine and the book for me took a whole new life. One of my favorite side things about the book is that we got reintroduced to previous main characters from the other books. I really loved how each book in the series was tied to together in one way or another. My only real negative with the book is the romance between our hero/heroine. I kind of felt like one minute it was hot and the next it was cold. I was hoping that they would actually sit down and explain things to each other instead of assuming it. The Epilogue was my favorite part of the book because it gave me closer to the series and gave me the HEA i was looking for.
Characters: Lachlan & Catherine
Page Turner: Not at first, but the 30% mark started a whole new story for me.
I did not read book 2 in the "Highlander Trilogy", but didn't feel like I missed anything. It was IMO a stand alone book. Rather than give yet another synopsis of the story I will just tell you what I loved most. The H/h were both very likable characters...their passion was undeniable (you could really feel it)...they actually communicated, yeah that's right, communication was finally not the biggest conflict in an historical romance. I thought the Epilogue could have been a bit more detailed on their individual family, it would have been more touching
Horny highlander who's been a celibate for 3 years falls madly in love with a forbidden freaking rich heiress who looks like the woman he hates. The transition from "I hate this woman" to "I want this woman" to "I love this woman" is quite terrible, actually. Lots of "wtf??? " moments. I am far more interested in what's happening in the background than their romance/sexual tension. Definitely my least favorite in the series.
really loved Catherine and Lachlan. truly a great couple and great mystery. I especially enjoyed their chemistry because for almost all of the book, they did not touch but I could feel their connection together and that is a tricky thing to write! So great work to Julianne MacLean! I loved Raonid even in the second book when she was supposed to be evil; I never saw it that way from the beginning, it was clear that she's alone and just lashes out at everyone and everything. I only wish there was a book about her finally finding love. That would be a great book to read about. I only wished it was a shorter book because 36 chapters was too long!!! Otherwise, great series.
