Reminiscent of a classic fairy tale, Love Immortal is a beautifully written paranormal romance novel that stays with the reader long after the final page is read. Love Immortal explores the world of vampires, necromancers, soul stealer's, mystical creatures, gods, and goddesses, all of which must come together to break the curse of a sadistic werewolf. Ms. Heaton delivers a wonderful story filled with fast paced action, intense fight scenes, amazing secondary characters, and an emotionally tortured hero, who by the way, has just earned a top spot on my "book boyfriends" list.
Lauren is just an average girl. That is, until a pack of werewolves attacks her and she realizes that monsters really do exist. In walks Julian, a handsome and mysterious man who comes to her rescue. Julian is an Arcadian commander with one job to do. Keep Lauren alive through her 35th birthday so she can defeat Lycaon, the first werewolf ever made. Lycaon, Lauren, and Julian are all tied to a curse that binds them in a never ending battle. With each defeat awarded to Lycaon, Lauren dies and comes back reincarnated only to repeat the process over and over again.
With each death, Julian, an immortal. lives only to see the woman he gave his human life for, Illia come back with no memory of him or the love they once shared. A shell of a man, Julian's heart is broken. Centuries of pain and defeat consumes him. That is, until Illia comes back as Lauren. Lauren is different than all the others. She is also different than Illia, a fact that Julian becomes all too aware of. Lauren is sweet, kind, compassionate, and more beautiful than all her predecessors. All too quickly, Lauren ignites the extinguished flame in Julian's heart. The question is, will he survive if she breaks it again?
I absolutely loved this book. My first read by author, Felicity Heaton blew me away.. Everything about this book speaks to the romantic at heart. Julian, the hero is so wounded and each memory he has is so painful. As a reader, I felt like jumping in the book and rescuing him. I also fell in love with Heaton's side characters, mainly Kuga, Piper, Duke, Astra, and Morgan. Talk about a bunch of misfits!! The group, also known as Ghost, fight side by side with Lauren and Julian to defeat Lycaon. As a whole, the team faces allot, including deception and loss, the latter of which is a devastating blow to the team as well as a tear jerker.. so, reader beware!! I sure hope Ms. Heaton continues to write in this world, if not about Julian and Lauren, than about the Ghost team, especially Kuga. Final thoughts: I was both expectantly and pleasantly surprised with this book. A great read, one Paranormal Romance lovers will shelve alongside their favorite page turners.
Passion, Anger, Revenge, Jealousy, Deceit, Defeat and Victory describes this book.
Wow, what an amazing and exciting read. At first it started out kind of slow within the first few chapters but then BAM! Lights! Camera! Action! The characters were all great and I totally connected with them all especially one named Pipper. Was very disappointed however with what happen with Pipper but I realize sometimes trama brings others together and more focused in the end and revenge is so bitter sweet.
The mythology concept was very interesting and the action in the battle at the end was powerful and on the edge of your seat exciting. As far as the romance goes, Felicity you teased me throughout the whole book and my mind was so sexually aroused I could hardly wait for some action and when it finally happened it was so worth the wait because the erotic love scene was so passionate and sweet and I totally fell in love with Julian and Lauren.
I thought the characters power abilities was fasinating and loved all the folk lore involved. Between were-wolves, vampires, demon soul eaters, demonancerator, humans with special powers, and greek gods and demi-gods this book was absolutely everything a reader could ask for in a story.
I was honored to receive Felicity Heaton's ARC for Love Immortal and I was NOT disappointed. This book will definitely satisfy Paranormal Romance readers as well as Urban Fantasy fans. It was jammed packed with action, suspense, intrigue and romance that kept me turning the pages to find out what was going to happen next.
Love Immortal introduces the reader to Lauren, an average woman on the verge of her 35th birthday questioning who she is and what she wants in life. She wants to have more in her life but doesn't realize that she will get much more then she ever imagined when one night after leaving her Kendo class she is attacked by a werewolf and is saved by a mysterious yet alluring man who she should be afraid of, but instead feels herself drawn to for some reason.
There is a reason why she is drawn to her handsome rescuer for he is her 3000 year old Arcadian commander who has swore to serve and protect Lauren who is in fact the reincarnation of a demi-goddess. Julian is everything you want in a protector. He is loyal, strong, protective, gorgeous, but at the same time the author paints the torment that he has gone through for the woman he loved.
You cannot help but fall in love with these two leading characters as their feelings and emotions are so well described that you feel yourself drawn into the story and become a part of it.
Felicity Heaton does a marvelous job of integrating interesting mythologies surrounding immortals, vampires, and werewolves that fans of these genres will enjoy the battle and conflicts surrounding these paranormal creatures.
The romantic and sexual tension that develops between Julian and Lauren reaches a fever pitch at times that you want to scream at either one of them to acknowledge their feelings and to act on them. This is kudos to the writer for creating scenes that enthralls the reader and characters that you develop a strong emotional connection with.
You also develop a connection with the secondary characters: Piper, Kuga, Leo, Astra, Duke and even Morgan as you discover more about their powers and their personalities. Felicity did a marvelous job of incorporating secondary characters alongside the lead characters without ignoring them or overshadowing them. I have read books where the author throws in a scene that focuses on the secondary characters and the lead characters are no where to be seen and makes the storyline seem disjointed. With Love Immortal you do not see that happening as one scene flows smoothly to the next.
I highly recommend this book for it is filled with intense action, intriguing mythology, hot romance featuring an irresistible immortal who would die for his love, characters that you develop an emotional connection with and a storyline that keeps you turning the pages and not wanting to put the book down.
My only compliant is that there was only ONE sex scene but it was very sensual and hot. I could easily see this book turned into a series as there is so much more that can occur between the lead and secondary characters. If the author does decide to turn this into a series may I suggest that she include more sex scenes as it all the ingredient are there for some hot, passionate moments to savour.
5 Stars to a wonderful book and characters. Now can we have some more Julian please! :)
I enjoyed this book. However, it took quite awhile for Julian and Lauren to admit their feelings to one another and give into their passion. The reason being their twisted and haunted pasts. But when they did it was like an explosion of passion. I really liked Julian. He has been protecting Lauren for several milennia though she never knew it because she is the reincarnate of a demi-goddess named Ilia whom was in love with Julian. The evil werewolf Lycaon had killed Ilia and every reincarnate to date leaving Lauren as his next target. Julian saves her from a werewolf attack and is eager to get her to trust him in order for him to protect her before her transformation into immortality(and Ilia's powers) comes to fruition on her 35th birthday in a months time where Lauren must drink Julian's blood in order to survive the transformation. Lauren is a mere human in the beginning and Julian has to convince and explain that she is not just an ordinary person. Julian is extremely loyal and is determine to make sure Lauren is not another victim to Lycaon. There are a couple of twists and turns I didn't expect in this story. The action and climatic finale were fast paced and page turning.
"You are my light, Lauren. For you I would endure eternal darkness." - Julian
Great book! I’m a big reader of paranormal romance, and I love the twist of paranormal romance with Greek mythology.
Most of us know how hard it is to get over past hurts where love is concerned so it is easy to sympathize with the characters and really get into the story. The journey with the characters has you laughing, crying, and at some points saying ‘come on kiss her already’ to quite a few characters.
Lauren is an ordinary girl who all of a sudden finds herself thrust into an unknown world of Greek gods and Titans, werewolves trying to kill her, vampires, and new friends with special abilities. Throughout her struggle to cope with the new life she’s been thrust into, she finds love. Lauren and Julian’s love is enough to make all of us jealous and wish we could all find our own knight. You never knew what was going to happen next. There is only one thing I would have changed because it made me cry and definitely didn’t see it coming, but I refuse to ruin the experience for those of you who haven’t yet read it.
I love escaping reality through books and Felicity created a place I loved going. I recommend this book and can’t wait to read more from Felicity Heaton.
This book kept me hooked right from the start. No dull start to this love story, just action, action, action. Within the first chapter my heart was already won by Julian the hero of the story. His enigmatic but devoted and protective stance over our heroine Lauren just sent me crazy. The build up of Felicity's characters was amazing. Her detail of their character traits and looks was impecable making it easy to picture all and where they were. Her writings were almost poetic in their feelings too. I found the storyline original and intriguing, making me want more. This paranormal romance would easily be one of the best I have read. Not once did she hold back on the fight scenes, obviously well researched by the descriptions and ideas. A few love scenes that certainly get you hot under the collar but not over crude either. Over all a great read and will definitely enjoy picking it up again in the near future.
I had the pleasure of reading the arc Love Immortal, thank you so much Felicity !!! - I must say it was like riding in a Ferrari , sleek on the outside,(( LOVED THE COVER)) great to look at and a full on ride, full throttle ahead till the end. It had me on the edge of my seat, wanting more never bored or deterred. Never missed a corner I had that accelerator flat to the floor till I reached the end!!!! Fantastic ride!!! I loved every minute of it!!!!
Lauren looses both her parents and is moving on with her life. On her way home from her Kendo class she is approached and attacked by a werewolf, a handsome immortal - stranger from nowhere saves her from the claws of a werewolf and takes her back to her house, her life changes from this moment on. Lauren did not believe in monsters that they could be possibly true but from this night on she is not sure what to believe anymore. Her life changes !! Julian is dreamy, handsome and at first quiet, and mysterious, with fangs. ((Something I love in my reads, an irresistible Vamp). He tells Lauren of whom she is and where she has come from. Lauren is the reincarnation of a Greek Demi-goddess- Illia she looks exactly like her previous incarnations but Julian can feel she is different from them all. She looks and acts differently , they have this connection from the moment they laid eyes on each other . He loved Illia and has suffered three thousand years of torture to have none of the previous love him in return and unable to save them. Her Destiny- to kill Lycaon the head werewolf who has killed her time and time again over three thousand years. She must defeat him to save her life, her love and convince Julian her love for him is real and that she does love him. She must try and Break through his armour, show him she is different, that she can love him like no other incarnations previously had and that he is worth her love. Can he return her love? In time Lauren’s life and destiny unfolds, she must be re - awakened to follow her destiny and what she was destined to do. Kill Lycaon. Blood sharing, neck biting , tension all follows. Julian is an Arcadian Commander, who sacrificed his human life to save Illia – previous incarnation his love of his life. When she died a part of him was left behind with her. Three thousand years later he is heartbroken, hurt and unable to forget his pain over all these years. Never being able to love again. Slowly Lauren re opens his heart, and he rediscovers love again. Lauren shows him there love is worth fighting for. He fought against it, as Illia forbid it, years before, but Julian discovers love is worth fighting for even if he may die in the end to say the one he loves. The ghost team who helped Lauren consisted of Piper, Kuga, Leo, Astra and Duke were all soldiers in their own ways on a mission to help Lauren defeat Lycaon. Morgan werewolf created first from former lover of Illia was also a great character, at first I did not warm to him but in the end I enjoyed him thoroughly. The characters were all unique in their own ways. Memorable and each of their own special abilities. I laughed with them, tears came to my eyes in certain parts, which I must say wrenched at my heart, I did not see this part coming. For those who have read it this will make sense. This part I must say I wasn’t thrilled about, (( sniff)) but I realize there can’t be a happy ending or middle with every story. They all contained their own powers in which they used to help Lauren in her battle against Lycaom. The character building was fantastic, the relationships between them all entwined well and flowed freely. The way Felicity created her world of Vampires and Werewolves intrigued me, her origins and ideas well thought out and once again perfectly fit this story. This story was smooth, no bumps along the way, and I must say it was more than exciting in some parts. This story was jammed packed full of action, suspense, love and lust !!! It wasn’t over the top with sex scenes, but what we did get was certainly hot and steamy !! I personally would have loved more !! I like it hot , but I enjoyed the sexual tension, the neck biting (( fans oneself )) and the intense feelings she produced for her characters was amazing. I really enjoyed how Felicity showed her characters emotions, I found it hard to control myself at times.( Sniff sniff ) Overall, this was the first book I have read of Felicity’s and it was amazing. !!! I loved all the characters, the storyline, the plot, the character building , the necking !!! And well the paranormal aspects of it all. I did not feel anything was missed out, full to the brim and overly flowing with substance .. It is a fantastic read and I intend to buy more of her books and enjoy her world of Paranormal.

Lauren is just a normal woman with no idea of the supernatural creatures that exist until she is attacked by werewolves on her way home one night. She is saved by a mysterious stranger, one who explains her life is in danger if she doesn't let him help her. Lauren doesn't believe Julian when he tells her that she is the reincarnation of a Greek Goddess Illia but as much as she tries to deny it she soon discovers that Julian is telling the truth. It is her destiny to try and defeat the werewolf Lycaon but this is something that her previous incarnations have been trying to do for nearly 4,000 years - how can Lauren possibly succeed when all the others have failed?
I have read and enjoyed several novellas by Felicity Heaton so I was really looking forward to seeing what she could do with a full length novel, I can tell you now that Love Immortal did not disappoint. It contains everything I could ask for in a paranormal romance - action, danger, mystery, betrayal, lust, love, passion and much more besides. Lauren is a great heroine, she may not have asked for the life she has but when she accepts her heritage she goes to great lengths to protect those she cares about and to learn everything she can to help her defeat Lycaon. She has her backup but she isn't someone who is going to sit about and let everyone else fight for her - she wants to be in on the action and make sure she plays her part. She is equally determined to get her man and Julian is definitely a man worth fighting for.
I absolutely loved Julian, he is prepared to do whatever it takes to protect Lauren and has been through so much to keep her and her previous incarnations safe. Illia was the love of his life and he was distraught when she died, watching over her incarnations throughout the years has torn his heart into pieces as none of them have ever returned his feelings. This makes him very wary of falling for Lauren but she is so different from Illia and the others and he finds her very hard to resist. The sexual tension between the two of them was fantastic and had me desperate for them to get together, Felicity Heaton makes you wait a long time before anything happens between them but believe me it is more than worth the wait!
Lauren and Julian also have help from an organisation called Ghost that was formed to help keep the balance between humans and demons. The 5 members of ghost that are helping them - Duke, Astra, Piper, Kuga and Leo - all have very distinct personalities and very different abilities that will come in useful when they take on Lycaon and his werewolves. I liked each of the team members but Piper, Kuga and Leo were particular favorites. The banter and friendship between them all really added to the story but at one point a betrayal almost broke my heart. I can't say any more without giving spoilers but just make sure you have tissues to hand when you're reading.
The mythology and world building is well done and enjoyable to read. Love Immortal will play on every emotion as you're reading it and I really hope that Felicity Heaton will re-visit this world and these characters again in the future. I'm sure there is more to learn about each of the characters and I would like to see each of them get their own happy ending in the future. If you like your paranormal romance with plenty of action this is definitely a story you need to get hold of.
Where do I start, I loved the blurb, all the reviews were good and seriously what could go wrong we had Immortal Beings, a love story 3,000 years in the making, vampires, werewolves, demons and a whole host of supernatural extras plus my absolute favourite dual POV's.
Lauren is your average thirty-four year old woman, or at least she thinks she is until one night she's attacked by werewolves and rescued by a man she feels unusually drawn to, Julian. She discovers she's actually the latest reincarnation of a goddess and she must drink the blood of her immortal protector Julian in order to reawaken and try, where all previous reincarnations have failed to defeat Lycaon, the original werewolf. And unlike her previous reincarnations she feels very attracted to Julian who's suffered through 3,000 years of hell to protect her could it actually be possible that he feels something for her as well.
It all sounds fantastic I know but it was so long and not long in a good way it was drawn out and well, boring I was bored to tears a lot of the time, I found myself skimming just to get through it. I continued on mainly because the reviews were all so good and while I've always liked dual POV's I began to hate it here, it was tedious and Julian came across as insecure and wimpy, reading it became a chore. On top of this, while I liked the general story Lauren had one of the moments I dread 'the female acts like an idiot' I hate it when an otherwise good female character acts like a brainless idiot to move the story along. There was also an incident which happened which was out of character for the character at the time (I'm trying not to give anything away here) and it rung so many bells that later the surprise wasn't a surprise at all and I just felt disappointed, maybe my hopes and expectations were just too high but when I'd finished I just wish I hadn't bothered and I'd listened to my instincts and quit at the 'stupid' moment. This book wouldn't have been so bad if it had been shorter but I just feel as if I wasted a day reading it, I'm giving 2 stars, 1 was my first choice but that would be unfair because the bones of the story were good.
When I first started this book I was a little intimidated by it. It's big. I mean, I read fast and it still took me a couple of days to get through. I'm not complaining about this AT ALL because it gave the characters time to develop and show you all the facets of their personalities. I'm just saying that when I first started it I was intimidated by the size. Oh, ha! I made a size joke. I always enjoy those!
As much as this story is supposed to be about Lauren and her journey, Julian was the one that made it pop for me. He's so stoic in the face of everything he's had to go through. He's so accepting of what Illia's previous incarnations have forced upon him. It's heartbreaking how he's had to harden himself to the world because of it.
Yes, I still have a thing for tortured heroes. *pets them*
The beginning of the book moves a trifle slowly. I'm in the "toss our main characters in bed as soon as possible" camp, though, and I don't think that would have worked here. It was all about the build up. All about the lowering of walls and the softening of hearts. *swoon* Once Lauren goes through her change and begins to see things as an Immortal the action moves fast and furious.
All in all, it was a fun, simmering read with an unforgettable hero. The showdown between Lycaon, who has a serious jones for causing the utmost mayhem he can to poor Illia's incarnations, and Lauren was well done. The secondary characters, Morgan especially comes to mind, were fully realized and felt very complex. The sex, when our heroes finally do fall into bed, was properly hot and well worth the wait.
Love Immortal is a beautifully written love story of epic proportions. Full of stunning descriptions, legendary battles and inspirational relationships. Felicity E. Heaton achieved a uniquely harmonious balance between love and war in this novel. There's plenty of mushy content that will appeal to romance readers but there's also tons of action to make this book a well-rounded read.
The writing style took my breath away. The characters jump right off of the pages, at times, I even felt like I was a part of their adventure. The emotional rollercoaster ride that they experience throughout this story is almost palpable, from the look in their eyes to their body language. I never doubted the depth of emotion that's between Lauren and Julian. The ending was pretty clear in my mind from the very beginning but the progression was better than the culmination in some ways due to the writing.
Lauren is going to die on her 35th birthday. There's no ifs, buts or maybes about that. It's predetermined, her destiny. Her existence doesn't end upon her death but I'd imagine knowing when you're going to die isn't easy to live with. When the event itself occurs, it's described in vivid detail. The pain, the fear, the doubt... I've never read anything like it in a novel and I read A LOT. But the craziness doesn't end there, Lauren is then reborn as a vampire and not in the *poof* sorta way as is typical of this genre. Readers get to discover her new powers and thirst right along with her through her POV. Her death and transformation are my favorite parts of this book. These chapters were incredibly unique and enthralling. I may not re-read the entire book, but those two elements are definitely worth a second visit.
There are werewolves and vampires galore in this tale, along with other otherworldly secondary characters. I usually prefer my weres to be the good guys but their role is fitting in this instance. Immortal Love puts a different twist on vamps that I quite enjoyed. Lauren and Julian are unique supernaturals. They are vampires but have a few differences that really set them apart from the rest. The mythology explored in this book was a welcome change from typical vamp literature. It wasn't overly complicated but really made a difference in the overall story.
Even though I've been ranting and raving about the awesome descriptions in this novel, there's also a negative side to them. I felt that the book was longer than it needed to be. The author is great at reiterating facts from earlier in the book to refresh your memory but at times I was reminded of the same fact 3 times within 2 pages. It got to be a little redundant and annoying. At times, I felt like the author's attitude towards her audience was that of a patient mother explaining something trivial to a toddler over and over again. The repetition isn't noticeable until the final quarter of the book but it took away from the overall experience and as a result, Immortal Love lost a star on my rating scale.
That being said, this novel is phenomenal. The chapters that cover Lauren's death and rebirth are works of art. I challenge you to find anything similar in existing literature. Until reading this book, Felicity E. Heaton was unknown to me as an author. Immortal Love put her on my radar in flashing lights and I will most definitely be reading more of her books.
4.5 stars! Felicity you genius woman, you! First off, thank you very much for the ARC, it was a great end to my ‘2010 Books Read’ list!
Love Immortal is my first Felicity Heaton book and I thought it was fantastic. I had a bit of a misconception that this was going to be a fluff read - no offence, but recently I’ve read quite a few paranormal romance books that focuses heavily on the romance, and the plot takes a backseat to the love and sex. But that is not so with this book. This book begins by jumping straight into the action, introducing a courageous heroine, a slavering werewolf and a mysterious stranger. So all in all, the perfect recipe to get my literary appetite all fired-up!
I won’t go into detail about the plot, but I’ll give a brief summary. Lauren’s world is turned upside down when she is rescued from the claws of werewolves by a mysterious stranger, only to discover she is the reincarnation of a Greek goddess, sent to Earth three thousand years ago to defeat Lycaon, the first ever werewolf. With the aid of Julian - her faithful protector - and Ghost - an organisation of people with extraordinary powers - Lauren endeavours to fulfil her mission and create a future with the one she loves…
Lauren‘s character really appealed to me because she was strong and always did what needed to be done. I loved the connection she formed with the secondary characters, like Kuga and Piper, and I thought the character developments were done very well, so that I liked some of the side characters as much as the hero and heroine. Julian was the typical hero: mysterious, strong and protective but with a hidden vulnerability. His loyalty and devotion towards Lauren really melts your heart and makes him easy to love.
Love Immortal offers a new take on the origins of werewolves and vampires and the way they tie in with the Greek Gods, so there was a nice combination of paranormal elements that blended very well together. What I loved about this book was that there was a fairly equal mix of romance and action, so neither one was overshadowed by the other. The action kept the pages turning, and there was enough love and passion to keep the romantic side of me satisfied. However, I do have to point out that there’s only about one sex scene in the book - although there is an abundance of sexy neck-biting! - so readers who prefer more sexual content might not be completely satisfied! Personally, I prefer kick-ass action over romance so it worked out fairly well for me.
There were some revelations that were slightly predictable but it didn’t really take anything away from the story. Also, towards the end dialogue did get a little bit too mushy, but being less than romantic myself, I suspect that was just me! Nonetheless, I was hooked from page one and enjoyed every minute of reading the book, so I would definitely say this is a book worth reading, especially if you’re a fan of paranormal romance.
We've all struggled with feeling out of place at some point in our lives. Now imagine being saved from a werewolf by a gorgeous man—who then explains you're a reincarnated goddess he has protected for three millennia. Oh, and your destiny is to kill the first and most powerful werewolf, before he destroys Olympus.
Oh, yeah. We're talking big story here.
I love the way Ms. Heaton weaves classical mythology with urban myth, to create a preternatural world, hidden within an everyday existence. This combination makes the heroine's life anything but ordinary. Lauren must face the outlandish claims, accept the proof her savior Julian provides, and ready herself for a battle that will end in certain death for some of its warriors.
The nearly 700-page novel certainly provided the canvas to show Lauren's journey toward discovering her inner strength, finding true love, and fulfilling her destiny. Julian's character is *swooning*a fantastic combination of emotional vulnerability, physical perfection, and deadly skilled protector.
Any woman in her right mind would recognize Julian's amazing qualities, the feelings he stirs and act on them, right? Well, Lauren does…eventually. The sensual tension between our main characters scorches the page. Unfortunately, they don't work out their insecurities and satisfy their (and the reader's) need to consummate their bond until around 600 pages into the story.
Lauren's character is a strong, caring woman that inspires others in her world to fight for what is right. The reader roots for her to succeed on this journey, but is left with an almost perpetual feeling of waiting—for the moment she and Julian resolve their issues, for the ultimate battle to finally occur.
And therein lies the only issue I have with LOVE IMMORTAL. The story took too long to happen. Some information was repeated initially, but for the most part the extra details dragged the story out. Don't get me wrong, this is a good read. For me, I think in this instance less would have been more—making it a great book.
Having said that, anyone that loves sweeping paranormals will enjoy the book. And after becoming acquainted with Ms. Heaton's voice and storytelling skills, I'm sure I will enjoy her other works as well.

Read my full review on: Paromantasy Amazing! That is one word I can use to describe this book. It is an action-packed, heart-warming, blood-boiling, tear-jerking, romance-filled paranormal romance novel that, as you can probably tell by now, has it all! Lauren was an ordinary girl having a bad year after her parents were killed in a car accident. She vows to discover the meaning of her life when it presents itself after she is attacked by werewolves and is saved by an immortal named Julian. She discovers that she is the reincarnation of Illia, a goddess whose mission is to stop the werewolf, Lycaon, before he can take revenge on the gods and end the world as we know it. The problem is that all the past reincarnations of Illia have failed, died, and all have been completely different from Lauren, especially when she finds herself falling in love with Julian. He originally loved Illia, but his heart has been broken over and over again when each reincarnation of her rejects and mistreats him. Suddenly he finds himself falling in love again but will it end in another heartbreak, with his love dying in his arms after being defeated by Lycaon, or will they finally be victorious and have their happily ever after? They acquire a few friends to help make strengthen their odds of winning when they seek the help of Ghost, a powerful team ranging from humans with powers to a succubus with an attitude. With the help of Ghost: consisting of Kuga, Piper, Duke, Astra, and Leo, and Morgan, vampire who was the lover of a past Illia reincarnation, they set out to defeat Lycaon and save the world. Will love, friendship and allies be enough or will Lycaon be the end of them all?
This book is a must-read. The romance between Lauren and Julian will make your heart melt. The friendship between Lauren and the gang will make you laugh, the action will make you jump out of your seat and the tearjerker shocker will leave you sniffling for days. Felicity has done a great job at creating a paranormal romance that has it all and is a complete page-turner!
Love Immortal is about Lauren and Julian. Lauren is the reincarnation of a goddess that lived three thousand years ago. Julian is the immortal charged with finding and protecting her during each reincarnation. In Love Immortal, Lauren must face her destiny. Her mission is to defeat Lycaon, the world’s first werewolf. All her predecessors have failed. With the help of Julian and the Ghost team Lauren just might have what it takes to succeed.
Julian is a wonderful character. He’s a tortured soul filled with three thousand years of heartache and pain. In Lauren he sees a chance to become whole again but he’s afraid to trust her with the fragile pieces of his heart for he knows that if she rejects him he would never recover. Julian is honorable, strong and protective. Add in sexy and mysterious and he is irresistible. Lauren is drawn to him immediately. She’s a great heroine, strong, caring and smart. She is a perfect compliment to Julian.
Lauren steps into her new role with grace and determination. She knows what she has to do, what’s at stake and she never gives up, she just fights harder. The love story between her and Julian is beautiful. It is tender and sweet. The scenes between them are heavy with sexual tension. The romance and the story were nicely balanced. They each had their part and fit together well. The secondary characters are diverse and well crafted. They all held an important place in the story and are vibrant characters that make an impact with the reader.
Felicity Heaton has outdone herself with her newest book. Love Immortal is an excellent paranormal romance. The story is exciting, it pulls you in. It is fast paced, filled with action and a romance that will bring tears to your eyes. Love Immortal is highly recommended to fans of paranormal romance.
I love the cover on this, dark and brooding with a hint of danger and lust. Love Immortal is fairly fast paced. Lauren the main character is unaware of her history and gets a rude awakening by being hunted by wolves. She is saved by Julian, and the chemistry between them immediately sizzles.
I loved the storyline, and the mythology behind it. I'm pleased to say we have another red headed heroine (yeyy!!) The emotions come across loud and clear in this book, from Lauren's disbelief as first, to utter shock once she realizes she is the target. Lauren blossoms into a full blown butt kicking heroine - her journey to it is a wild ride which I enjoyed. Lauren's relationship with Julian was great, although for me the shift in their relationship was too slow and drawn out. I do like Julian though, a very strong character who goes out of his way to be with the person he loves, and manages to be a character of epic proportions who defies normal rules.
The relationships forged in the book are tangible, there's everything from deception (very very good, and I didn't expect it to happen that way!) to tender and true friendships. I was drawn to Piper's youth and charisma, because of the emphasis on her innocence and true spirit I did get an idea of what was to come.
A thoroughly enjoyable non stop read, with a fantastic jaw dropping hunk of a male character as well as an enjoyable heroine. I enjoyed the interesting mix of mythology and incarnation alongside the x-men type characteristics of some of the cast.
I really liked this book. I really enjoyed the action of Lauren learning how to fight to the fight scenes in the novel. I loved how the book started. With you being in the scene of an attack. It totally brought my adrenaline pumping along with Lauren. I loved seeing how her personality changed from being a little shy to just going on there and believing in herself. I also really loved how the other characters changed from being reserved and how they began to trust in each other more. I really loved the different settings. From London, to Paris and then to Greece. I loved that Lauren becomes reincarnated every time and being different with every reincarnation.
I really liked how the relationship in the novel progressed with everyone. With Duke and Astra, Lauren and Julian, and sadly with Piper and Kuga. I really liked Kuga,I think he was my favorite character because of all the things that happen to him and how even with that he still couldn't destroy someone that he loved and take his revenge.
I also found the mix of the Greek Gods and Vampires really interesting! That was unique, I think. I have never read a book with this mixture and I LOVED it!
There were moments were the book made me cry and there were moments were it made me laugh. I enjoyed it! And I hope that you do too!
I also found the mix of the Greek Gods and Vampires really interesting! That was unique, I think. I have never read a book with this mixture and I LOVED it!
Although the plot has promise, the lengthy and repetitive inner dialogue ruined the pace and was a problem even during the lovemaking scenes. Although I wanted to see what happened to the characters, this book was a struggle to finish. Do yourself a favor and skip this one.
If you are looking for a good vampire/romance/adventure series, I recommend Heaton's Vampire Erotic Theatre series.
What an unbelievably good book, I highly recommend it. Characters that are relatable, a story written superbly. Many emotions arise during this book, sadness (for what has been lost and endured), happiness (for love, & friendships found, goals accomplished and the future ahead w/ all of them together). This is a story written with heart, the brave characters are amazing, their task daunting, taking longer than you can imagine. All of their personalities are so different, yet click together perfectly, complimenting each other. Each with their own power, strength, and fortitude. An amazing book, I'm so glad I read it.
Love Immortal from Felicity Heaton is a fantastic book.
Lauren & Julian's story was so complex and deep. I got so engrossed in their journey I couldn't put the book down!! Filled with great characters, this is an action packed, fast paced tale that pulls at your heartstrings throughout.
I can't recommend this book highly enough... Felicity has smashed our expectations and given us another outstanding read!!!
Wow, what can I say? I am a big fan of Felicity Heaton books. Love Immortal is another wonderful romance that will have you in tears, make you smile and stun you with some very unexpected events. I cried and cried but I understand why the story took the path it did. Lauren and Julian were made for each other and their story is one of love, protecting, treachery and much much more. If you like your heroes dark and the women strong you will enjoy this book.
Excellent book, I love the mythology, and I love Lauren and Julian! for my gusiali friends : dibs on Julian for me ;)
The book is very rich, and has beautiful dialogues and descriptions. The friendships are real, and it's written in a way that made me see everything that happened.
If you like paranormal romances then this is a book for you. It has everything that you could want; vampires, werewolves, demons, a necromancer and Greek gods added to the mix. The first few chapters start kind of slow but once you get into it then it is hard to put down. This was my first Felicity Heaton book but it won't be my last.
A Fantastic Stand-Alone Paranormal Romance You can read my full review on my WordPress blog, Flora's Musings...
So, what did I like about it? I am already a big Felicity Heaton fan; I love her writing style and find her stories very easy to read. I can’t help but feel transported into the paranormal world she creates, I always enjoy the twists and turns she weaves into her plots and love that her characters, both the heroes and the villains, are complex, multifaceted souls never just good or evil. Love Immortal didn’t disappoint me.
I liked Lauren's fighting spirit and Julian's overwhelming protective nature and enjoyed hearing the inner dialogue of both of them. I loved how the sexual anticipation was built between them and yet still so very romantic despite the explicit writing - Ms Heaton at her best. I love that it’s not just Julian and Lauren that have depth of personality and intriguing back stories; all of the characters Ms Heaton introduced into this story are complex, multifaceted and completely believable, partly due to their very real human virtues and foibles even though most of them are mythical, paranormal beings and I also enjoyed how Ms Heaton crafts some rather beautiful interweaving stories into this book featuring the secondary and supporting characters; I hope to read a novella or two about Ghost’s missions in the future, Ms Heaton. *hint*hint*
Love Immortal is a heart-warming romance with titillating passion that also shocked me into silence, surprised me with unexpected twists, had me holding my breath during some amazing fight scenes and had me blubbering like a baby.
So, ummm, was there anything I disliked about it? OK, so here’s when I have to be completely honest and tell you why my rating was 4 stars rather than 5.
I did really enjoy reading Love Immortal it was just at times, I felt that Julian’s lengthy and repetitive inner dialogue slowed the pace rather that shedding light on a different part of his history, issue/worry or facet of his personality. It began to frustrate me that we (the reader) didn’t know some of the feelings that Julian was hiding from Lauren or the reasons for his behaviour.
So, basically what I’m saying is... I really enjoyed this stand-alone paranormal romance story! It's got everything that I'm looking for in a great book; action, romance, adventure, humour and passion!
As with all of Ms Heaton’s books, due to the graphic violence and sexual content - it’s definitely steamy - I’d recommend this book to adults who are not offended by content of this nature and are fans of relationship and romance adventure stories with oodles of fire and passion.
It took me a few chapters read before the story really took off. There's lots of action and unexpected turns that took both Lauren and Julian to dangerous situations. Julian's whole reason for living as an immortal is to protect all the reincarnations of Illia. But Lauren is different as she is kind and loving compared to other reincarnations. They fell in love with each other and both vowed to protect each other in their battle against Lycaon. Can they win this fight?
I was fully captivated by the characters in this story. It was creative and kept me interested. I would call it a page Turner if my kindle had pages to actually turn. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who loves a love story with a happy ever after. I detest a sad cliffhanger ending. Thanks for a good weekend read.
I read some of the reviews before reading this book and they said it was a slow start. I was a bit apprehensive that I would find it boring. I'm glad to say that was not the case. I actually liked that the main characters didn't get together straight away. It built beautiful to a climactic final scenes. I love the other ghost characters and hope Kuga especially has his own book .
Absolutely Fantastic, it is so full of Amazing Mysterious people and twists that you will be on the edge of your seat from the first word to the very last one. Absolutely Amazing.
