Twins Gavin and Merlin were different as night and day. Gavin takes sibling rivalry to another level. Merlin always suffered for the wrongdoings of his identical twin. He finally has had enough of his twin after his last stunt and is determined to set his brother straight.
Gina was a hopeless romantic. Everything she did was in hopes of winning the affection of Ronald. He strung her along for 20 years before she finally snapped.
Tina Brooks McKinney keeps you on edge. The suspense gets twisted at times but it's a good read.
I have heard of family secrets and sibling rivalry but this book takes those two them and take it up 20 notches. This book is about a woman named Gina, who spends her life pouring into a man who had every turn disrespects her to prove her love to this man she takes on the surrogate mother role to his two twin boys and the boys are different as night and day. How far will one twin go to get the life that another twin has worked for? To answer this question it would be best for you to read the book. This book holds nothing back and just when I things can’t get any more crazy it does.
After listening for about an 45 minutes I realized, I definitely read or listened to this before but for some reason I didn't have it marked. I still listened to it all the way through and enjoyed all the toxic drama of these fictional characters. I will be reading part 2... we'll see if I find out that I read that one already too lol.
I hated this book from start to finish. It's poorly written, poorly paced and totally predictable. I wouldn't have bothered with it had it not been a book club selection. I committed to reading every selection this year. So far, I've stayed true to my commitment, but I wasn't happy with this book. It epitomizes why I stay away from this genre. I've found that writers in this genre seem to think that a whole bunch of stuff happening equals a good story. If there was more emphasis placed on good quality writing and character development, maybe the stories would be better. Snapped falls way short!
This book was pretty good. Gavin is a trip. Gina was so unbelievably stupid but what is sad is that there are woman like that every day. It was kind of stupid of Gavin to be doing another crime and once again trying to pin it on Merlin. It didn't work the first time so why would he think it would work the second time. The book left us hanging on the status of whether or not Gina was pregnant. Also we never found out what happened with Angie after she found out she was pregnant. Ms. Mckinney did keep me interested. I look forward to reading more of her books.
Gavin is LOONY.. What's they backstory? What happened to the Twins mother?? I have so many questions. Too many gaps. And Gina?? Wowwwwwwwwww.. On to part 2.
I have mixed reactions about this book it jumped from being about the mom and dad to being about the twins real quick unless i missed something. 🤦♀️ Even though I gave it 3 stars it still kept my interest. I wanted to see what the outcome was and who the baby daddy was. I know it’s a part 2 but I’m going to come back to it because even though the paternity results came back I’m not 100% sure. Plus o think the bad twin May be the father of 3 babies including his mommas! Well they ain’t confirmed Regina ass is pregnant but ummmm…morning sickness don’t lie. She don’t even know she got fucked. 😢
This Book Takes Sibling Rivalry To A Completely Different Level. Once I Started This I Honestly Couldn’t Stop. It Just Hooked Me & Kept My Attention Through & Through. Gavin Was Giving Fatal Attraction 2.0 All In The Name Of Getting His Twin Brothers Wife Cojo. While Merilyn Completely Overstimulated Emotionally Dealing With His Mother & Brother. All The Twist & Turns To This Story Is More Than Enough To Keep You Interested.
Snapped" was an awesome book. I liked how it was written and how the struggle of dysfunctional families was displayed. This story was drama-filled, but it was such a wonderful book that I could not put down. I read the sequel book "Snapped 2: The Redemption" and I must say Ms. McKinney has outdone herself with these two books
I liked this book. It was definitely some crazy stuff in here. It is different then any book I have ever read. Some of the stuff I read I can say I have not seen in any of the other books I have read.
Some of the stuff in here had me smh because I just could not see that going down in reality, however the way Gavin (the bad twin) is captured in this book, there are ppl in this world who are just as coldhearted as he his. As a friend of mine said he has a black heart. So it definitely has some realistic things in here too.
I am actually only 50% finished with this book but I can't finish it. I was engrossed in the story up until the halfway point then I just couldn't go any further. The storyline was making me anxious, which I don't like because anxiety gives me a headache, then all of a sudden my body actually felt deflated. At that point, I knew this was not something I should be reading.
This story perfectly described how much family disfuction really does exist. How it shapes and mold our youth today. Creatively and true to life written, everybody knows a family like this !!! So many twists and turns I definitely did not expect the ending turn of events
I'm half way threw it and i like it so far i can't put it down. im waiting to see what happens next. in my head im making up scenarios to what will happen. can't wait to finish
