Learned a few things! Ruth Stout was mentioned several times through this book. Intrigued to read more of her works and about her gardening methods.

Just finished this little gem. It was interesting to look at mulching in a retrospective way. Living in Texas, it's hard to imagine *anyone* arguing about the virtues of mulching everything... veggies, flowers, trees, shrubs, your cat. But here, in this little book from the early 70s, there are the arguments. It's a great read, especially if you have rock soil and need some easy-out ideas. Now I have to go read Ruth Stout's work.
