There is Nothing More Dangerous for a Man Than a Woman with a Plan
With a level of confidence that most women would envy, De'Borah Harriston stands at the church sanctuary doors wearing a stylish designer ensemble so sophisticated and eye-catching that a trustee almost drops the collection plate and his religion trying to get another glance of her revealing low-cut neckline. Conniving, De’Borah Harriston is the type of woman you love to hate. While trying to bring down others, will De’Borah find herself entangled in her own web of destruction?
You can’t have an affair with attorney Crystal Calloway's husband, become pregnant with his child, leave text messages saying Crystal's man is divorcing her, and then turn around and be the one behind releasing sex photos of her on the web--that she didn’t even know existed--while simultaneously being the unidentified source in the newspaper that has the police falsely charging her with aiding and abetting a money laundering drug cartel, and think you're going to have Crystal's kid calling you Mommy while she's locked up in the penitentiary. Who you kidding?
A secret society of corrupt Black pastors known as the Preachers' Syndicate wields so much power that their support can determine the winner of the upcoming presidential election. Will the killing of one of its members who had a change of heart result in solidifying the group's power or mark the beginning of their demise?
Pastor David Josiah Goodwell, a true man of God, finds himself embroiled in a vicious smear campaign. As he agonizes over the daunting task of taking over the church his father created, will being true to his authentic call mean destroying the bulk of everything his father built, including the family name?
See how God's love, power and redemption strengthen believers who are struggling to reach new heights in their faith and relationship with God even as their church and church leadership hit new lows.
"Hello?" "Yes. Is a Ms. Calloway available?" "This is Attorney Crystal Calloway. How can I help you?" "Attorney Calloway, this Robert Vilcano of Vilcano Investigative and Protection Services. Per your request, I am contacting you as soon as we uncovered any significant leads concerning your case." "Go on." "Well, Attorney Calloway, I have good news to share. Based upon a thorough and exhaustive investigation, we have irrefutable evidence that Evelyn James is not having an affair with your husband as previously suspected." This is what caught my attention and from there the book went down hill. It was too many characters to keep up with for me. Now I know you are saying "What!" I had to go back and forth to remember who belongs to who. You have the wives,kids,in-laws,pastors,girlfriends,FBI but not the FBI and the members of the church. While trying to keep up with all this took away from the story and too much dialogue. For the book to be 200 plus pages too many characters.
As stated when I started reading this book, I was loan this book and had 14 days to read. Despite the fact I was already reading a book I was enjoying, I put that book down, upon receipt of this book and began reading it right away. If not for my busy school schedule, I believe I would have finished it sooner. This is a great read. The book, captivate the reader from the very first page and, keeps the reader turning page after page . This novel in my opinion is worth four stars, for the following reasons; The characters could have been developed a little better and, checked for grammatical errors. This book is full of lies, deceit faith, and delivery all in a church base setting, which is very true in modern churches today. I especially enjoyed some of the biblical references and prayers, a must read.
Dram in the Church, drama outside the Church, and who is ur baby daddy?? Are you sleeping with my husband?? I dont care that ur married...I love U, nothing but Lies, Deceit, scandals, murder, blackmail, and adultery.............this read is like the soaps some of everything diry is being done and it all revolves around the Church. I rate this read 3.5 Stars.
Seemed like too much was going on at first, but by the middle of the book, I liked how the author wove the characters, their lives, and dramas together.
