With more microbreweries than any other city, the nation's largest bookstore, and the most beautiful Japanese garden outside of Japan, Portland is an ideal place to live or visit. Highlighting the best of the city's arts, recreation, and dining, this guide is essential for anyone wishing to get the most out of what Portland has to offer.
This is a great book and it's full of information on the Rose City. I loved that it was funny and quirky and not boring like some guidebooks. I've been to Portland so many times I could write my own guidebook, but I actually learned a lot from this book. Beautiful pictures, and lots of information about Portland's history and a big section in the back in case you love Portland so much that you want to move there.
I am not sure how to rate this so I am not rating it at the moment.
Very comprehensive including information about relocating and retiring to Portland. I was disappointed, however, when I discovered that two places mentioned in it that seemed like places I wanted to visit have since closed. I am not sure if other places have closed since publication. They might need to update this series more often.
This book was a really helpful guide into places to go, places to eat, and activities that are available around the city. It covers everything from day trips to the housing market. Also, it gives insider information so a visitor or new resident doesn't feel so much like an outsider.
