This novelization retells the story from the movie of the same name, centering on the discovery of an underground civilization of mole people. While the writing itself is solid, the book doesn’t add much beyond the film’s plot, making it more of a companion piece than a fresh take.
For fans of classic sci‑fi cinema, it’s an interesting read, but those hoping for deeper insight into the movie’s themes or characters may find it a bit underwhelming.
I really enjoyed reading this movie in great black and white pictures. The ruins of a buried city, the search for Sharu, what is behind the doors of death? Great little book on who lived in an ancient and lost city (the mysterious mole people). Nice putting of a horror classic into words. Highly recommended!
THE MOLE PEOPLE was one of my favorite films when I was very young, and I was delighted to stumble across this adaptation for young readers at a library sale years ago. It has many delightful stills from the film along with a short plot adaptation. Get out the popcorn!
