About the author

Barbara Sillery is an award-winning television producer/director and script writer as well as an author of four books. Her first book is based on the documentary The Haunting of Louisiana. She then went on to write two more books of ghostly lore: The Haunting of Mississippi, and the Haunting of Cape Cod and the Islands. Her book Biloxi Memories is also based on a recent documentary she produced for PBS station WYES in New Orleans.

After thoroughly enjoying The Haunting of Louisiana I couldn't wait to dive into another book by this author and luckily I was far from disappointed. This book was so good and I learned so much history and local lore from its pages. The author perfectly blends ghost sightings with local tall tales and actual historical facts. This book has such a wonderful vibe to it that most ghost/hauntings books lack. There is nothing corny or 'quacky' about it and I love that. Barbara Sillery is able to balance encounters with fact without weighing in herself and that lends credibility to her writing in my opinion. I just cannot say enough good things about this book and I really enjoyed almost every chapter. I highly recommend this and other books by the author for those of you who love a good ghost story perfectly seasoned with local lore and flavor.
