I read four Hannah Montana novelisations for my 3-year booktube anniversary, where I read the books alongside watching their respective episodes, check it out: https://youtu.be/L_7U1lSHa0M
miley has a really big crush on jake ryan and when her aunt dolly comes she tells her all about it and she soon relises her secret about jake was on cammera and it gets mixed up with a tape for the farwell for the schools Principal and jake is the tapes editor will she reach the tape on time before all goes wrong ?
I kinda stumbled over this cleaning up and I figured why not read it before putting it away. Cute and funny, not to mention a trip down memory lane. Miely of course messing up again, but her best friends will always be there to save the day.
In the first part Miley starts to fall for Jake Ryan. I always liked this episode as it had Dolly Parton in it. In the second part Miley and Lilly join the cheerleader team but Miley ends up being the mascot.
The first storyline was more exciting than the second for me
Part One: The principal of their school is retiring, so Oliver is making a tribute video. Also, her aunt Dolly comes for a surprise visit. She’s recording things for people back home. Meanwhile, Miley is bummed because she likes this boy, but it’s complicated. While venting to Dolly, she eventually figures out the camera is recording everything she’s saying. Oliver comes by with his camera and eventually switches his camera with Dolly’s by accident.
Can honestly say I never thought I’d read a book where I’m picturing Dolly Parton as a character. I’ve also seen the episode this is based on, not to mention know who she is outside the show.
Just when I was going to give the author complete props, there’s a part of a song sung with changed lyrics, but no lyrics mentioned. I only know them because I’ve seen the episode. Cardinal sin. :-P
Otherwise, it was written very well.
Part Two: Miley and Lilly feel like they don’t spend enough time together because of Hannah Montana. Miley suggests Lilly try out with here at school for cheerleader. Meanwhile, the sink is broken and Mr. Stewart lets his son try to fix the sink for $50 instead of paying a plumber $80/hr.
I read this for nostalgia reasons. Basically, this is a very short written version of a few episodes; not one episode but multiple, so it’s a tad rushed since you just zoom through it. You’d probably have more fun rewatching the actual show, and cringing at it because it was kind of bad.
