Retail is always the workers fault but at least Ash gets to be more than the fall guy.

Ugh... Yes, this is as bad or worse than volume 2. It's volume 1 all over again, but this time there's future time travel instead of past. Terrible, unbefitting art, stale, overused dialogue, and just a dumb, boring story. Not recommended. Let's try vs. Re-Animator next!

As usual for this series, SHOP 'TIL YOU DROP DEAD spends most of its time simply rehashing story beats and dialog taken from the films. Seriously, will there ever be an ARMY OF DARKNESS comic in which Ash doesn't sever someone's possessed hand or battle with evil miniature lookalikes? It's like listening to a "Greatest Hits" compilation by a second-rate cover band. Eventually, Ash gets flung into Earth's distant future, which might've been an interesting idea if the writer weren't so dead-set on parodying old sci-fi flicks like TRON and THE TERMINATOR instead of telling a cohesive and convincing story.

I am biased as I love the character and can just read it as Bruce Campbell as Ash plus love the whole world/franchise.
This pretty much starts where Army of Darkness ends. Or one version where Ash gets back to the S-Mart and the girl...but soon those pesky deadites are back wanting souls and causing mayhem.
Ash gets sucked through a portal but instead of medieval fancypants he is thrown into a future. It's a lot of fun and if you are a fan that's what you want.

Yes i skipped the other volume and js read the recap bc I liked this art style better.

Entertaining and okay dialogue but it’s kind of in character I guess? I hated that it could be pretty sexist at times with the treatment of the girls :/ they don’t all have to be love interests.

Rlly like the design of Ash they got his goofiness down. Him crying at the sight of a chainsaw made me laugh!

waay better than Ashes 2 ashes. The craziness in this one reaches dangerous levels of absurdity and fun. Ash is the best evil destroyer there is. This volume contains countless pop culture references that especially horror and sci-fi fans will love

In this book, Ash fights deadites in S-Mart and then there's sudden time travel stuff. This starts out feeling very hackneyed with Ash fighting the exact same sort of stuff he fought in the movie, just relocated to S-Mart. And the, suddenly, he winds up in the future where things are very different and, well, weird, and the Necronomicon is now a computer program. So he fights deadites in cyberspace. On the whole, this feels like the author couldn't come up with any good ideas, so he decided to recycle existing ones, just with weird settings.
