Hard Time is a realistic smack in the face. The book tells of young people whose lives have been impacted by violence and crime. These stories are told from the perpetrators and the victims, as well as adults who work with the teens. Hard Time is a re-telling of drug abuse, physical abuse, and the harsh reality of life as a juvenile delinquent. Learn about the events that brought the teens into jail, see if they have remorse for the crimes they committed, and learn about their future hopes and dreams. Hard Time combines the viewpoint of the crime committers, their friends and family, and their supervisors in a stunning depiction of how each individual case affects each and every one of them.
Ladies and gentlemen of the jury: I find the book " hard time: a real life look at juvenille crime and violence" to be excellent at keeping me in suspense and getting people my age in the story so then i get it; However, there were areas in which the book was pretty bad with there vocabulary and sometimes the way that they would explosion things.
I really enjoyed this book. Also one of the reasons that I choose this book is the title. I loved the title because it says juvenille, when i think, of juvenille I think teenagers and thats why I got it. Another reason is that the back cover had some interesting quotes from some of the teenagers, like sean's. `` I have to live everyday knowing that I killed my mom. I miss her so much. I had taken her for granted. Now she's gone. It's a void in my heart.''
Another reason that I liked this book is because more than half of the people in this book were either my age or older by two or three years. The oldest person in this book is 18. (well the from the teenagers). The youngest person is maybe eleven or twelve. That's what I love. I can relate to them. Even though i haven't actually been arrested, I can relate to the slang that they have.
Even though this book was only two hundred pages, this book always kept me in suspense. And I quote, ``If I was in jail, deep down in my soul, I'd miss baths.'' I know that doesn't sound like the most suspenseful thing on earth but since I thought it was humorous I would always want to read and I would think to myself,IQ what else are they going to say?
This was and shall ever be my favorite book, but I won't lie, there were some not good parts. Like tits one quote ``My moms a prostitute.'' Right when you here that it sounds wrong to the ear. Also you would think that she is going to end up just like her mom and that she is going down a bad road. Even though this book did have some bad parts, its still my favorite book.
As you can see from the evidence presented above, this book is one of the best books I have ever read. From how they put teenagers in the book, to there wonderful quotes this had to be my favorite book. Yes this book has its ups and down, this is still my favorite book. From all this evidence that I have shh yen shown you, I hope you people of the jury can Deedee that this book is guilty of being my favorite book.
Hard Time is a book of individual stories told by juveniles. These are children and teens who have committed crimes, and are incarcerated. One of the juveniles tells a story about how he shot and killed his mother at the age of 10. He talks about how she argued with him often, and when he pulled the trigger, how he though about the times she made him angry. In his story, he also describes the facility he is staying in, and how the people there treat him differently. Everyone treats him differently because he is the only teen that murdered his mother, also over something minor. That is very hard to live with for the rest of your life.
This is a great book to read. It shows the taboo crimes committed by children and teens in the United States. I recommend you read this book if you like books that tell stories of crime and tragedy. I also recommend this book to any teenager, because it teaches you right from wrong, and the consequences of criminal actions.
Overall, I enjoyed reading Hard Time because it made me understand the life of some of these children and teenagers. The author does a good job at getting the reader involved in the feelings of the incarcerated juveniles. The author also does good job of describing the emotions they have as they commit these crimes. This book really made me think about life and how fast it can change, which is a big reason why I enjoyed it. Most of these children and teens are charged as adults for their crimes and may not see the outside for the rest of their life. It was important to see how they feel about these crimes, and how they regret them so much.
The authors of this book Janet Bode and Stan Mack wrote this book to tell a story from the point of view of a juvenile delinquent. The authors visit local juvenile facilities to get the stories of young teens crimes. Some of the teens are killers, some are thiefs, some are framed, and some just took the blame. However, they all have one thing in common and that is that they all have a story to tell from there experience of being locked up. This is a very great book. If you enjoy non-fictional drama and action books, then this has to be the perfect book for you. The reason why I liked this book so much is because I can relate to some of the topics that are talked about by some of the juveniles. This book is worth reading. If you know someone who is on a bad track and is going in the direction of being a juvenile, this is the perfect book that you should get them to read. Reason being is because some of the stories that's told by the juveniles will make a person never want to mess up in life and end up like them. Both of the authors did an amazing job with this book. They used real life stories, and got to speak one on one with each juvenile who's story was told in this book. The book isn't that long, and it's on a topic that most teens have questions about. If you haven't considered reading this book yet you should really look into it. This is an amazing book!
