Derek Parker (27 May 1932 – 2 January 2025) was a British writer and broadcaster. He was the author of numerous works on literature, ballet, and opera, and with his wife Julia of several books about astrology.
Derek Parker paints a sympathetic picture of Nijinsky, while presenting a easily readable biography overflowing with information about early 20th century Parisian and Russian ballet dancers, artists and composers. These personalities and their cutting-edge inspirations, played out upon a stage, still influence the world today. How one's art can survive even a world war is of particular interest. Please take a bow, Mr. Parker. You deserve applause for this one!
