What a FABULOUS series this has been. And what a page-turning finale this is!
There is everything you could ever want or need in a story right here, and the last part of the book is just SO emotional. If you don't feel a thing after reading it, then you need to check your pulse to ensure you are still alive.
Our main characters, Randy and Clovis, the barbarian and the spellbook (not forgetting the unforgettable AI, Lily, of course), are on their final adventures in the third realm, and it will take every deep-buried piece of themselves and everything they've never thought of before to get through these trials. There's lots of bears (and I mean lots), friends, enemies, frenemies, and Death is lurking closer than he has ever come before to our heroes. A little too close for comfort.
As usual, the author's world building is exceptional, making the reader feel that they are right there in the thick of the action, experiencing the challenges along with Randy and Clovis. The plot and storyline are quality and well-written, the action is fast and exciting, and it's all executed with LitRPG Easter eggs and Mr Cooper's trademark snorting humour, or is it just me that snorts? I don't think so, somehow.
I'm really sad that this has finished however, I ADORE the ending. You'll see what I mean...
If you haven't read this series, don't hesitate to buy it. You won't regret it, honest!
Harmon Cooper finishes off his silly series on a man sucked into an RPG world, where he must complete quests and level up continually.
Randy is a semi-successful fantasy writer himself, writing under the pseudonym 'Angel Farts'. His fighting style is quite the same, ignoring logic and going for quick and easy solutions. He succeeds, but mostly because of luck.
His sidekick, a sentient spellbook named Deathspel, is even less logical and sillier.
The progression up the tower comes to a satisfying conclusion and yet has a hint of future volumes to come.
The tower climb is at an end, and what a finish, although this isn't everyones mad lad cup of tea, I enjoyed the mad dash and craziness that we came across and it was something different to read compared to other offerings. Hopefully, my helpful review encourages others to push for more adventures from our duo as I would love to read more.
This book was so much fun to read. It was tough to read knowing the series would end and I wouldn’t have another adventure with Randy and Clovis to look forward to, but somehow Cooper was able to keep it from falling flat.
This was an interesting conclusion, with an opening to write again about Randy and Clovis. I was surprised that Harmon Cooper did a Sir Arthur Conan Doyle by killing off his main characters and bringing them back to life. It was awesome that Teddy Bear girl is crazy.
This final installment of Tokens and Towers really delivers. I laughed, I cried, and I enjoyed every minute. This series is sure to become a cult classic. I felt so sad to be done with the series!
I'm a big fan of Coopers cowboy necromancer series and this one. They both have a uniqueness that's really compelling. This series felt like an adhd roller-coaster ride and it was awesome!
Aww man I wish there were more... this book was Topsy Turvey and full of surprises... I don't want to spoil anything... I hope we see our heroes in a new series.
Not really where i expected this to go. I was looking forward to this third chapter but was kind of disappointed in how it turned out. Really some mad lad shit
