Premonition

Rate this book
Premonition Lynn LaFleur Kari Winchester considers her visions a curse. She can't understand why she has visions when she's never able to help anyone. This time, she prays Brenda Blackstone's case will be different and she'll find the teenager before it's too late. Slade Blackstone left the Reno police force after ten years and started his own private investigation business. With his father owning the largest, most successful hotel and casino on the north shore of Lake Tahoe, he's seen his share of con artists. Kari Winchester tops them all. He's going to put a stop to her little scheme before she has the chance to get money out of his father. He hadn't counted on falling for her with one look.

I was born and raised in a small town in Texas close to the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Writing has been in my blood since I was eight years old and wrote my first story for an English assignment. The baby of four children, I was spoiled rotten and still am.

I can't imagine ever writing anything but romances. I enjoy writing about two people (or sometimes more than two) falling in love. If you like the story enough to smile in places, shed a tear at times, or get a warm and fuzzy feeling, that is my greatest reward.

Besides writing at every opportunity, I love reading, traveling, scrapbooking, photography, and learning new things on the computer. I'm a software junky and like trying out new programs, especially anything to do with graphics.

I moved back to Texas after living on the West Coast for 21 years, to a small town 17 miles from where I grew up. I live close to my only surviving sister.

THOUGHTS

This was an ok read for me. The story felt simple, but yet likable and went by quickly. Slade's sister is missing. Kari had a vision that she's hurt and tries to convince Slade that she can help. Slade doesn't trust Kari and thinks she has something to do with it.

Slade and Kari's communication was good, although everything between them happen so fast, I find myself thinking, geez, Kari, let the man work hard for it. What also bugged me, I know Slade was worried about his sister, but I kept thinking while I was reading that Kari seemed more worried about looking for her than Slade.

Physical chemistry was good, because without it, this would have been less than ok.

I stopped at page 32, the story was boring. No real meat to it. It was hollow.

I just say that this was an Ellora's Cave release so it kind of explains my difficulty with the story.

I liked the set up but establishing the attraction between the pair and the immediate jump to the smexy stuff was exceedingly heavy handed and just lost my interest. This was freebie though so no great (finacial) loss...

Interesting concept, but the romance just didn't work for me. The characters were drawn to each other, but the instant attraction and immediate sex wasn't explained very well. Too short a format, I guess.
