Journeys Through Bookland, subtitled ‘a new and original plan for reading, applied to the world’s best literature for children', was a ten-volume anthology initially published in 1909 by Bellows-Reeve Company. The series includes poems, myths, Bible stories, fairy tales, and excerpts from literary works by Cervantes, Dickens, Shakespeare and Swift, among others. Volume 10 serves as a guide to the series.
The Journeys Through Bookland series by Charles H. Sylvester (also available free - see links below) shall remain a continual source of research for me throughout the upcoming years. It is an important addition to those of serious study pursuits from the era of classic writings. Referenced for personal research and historical clarity. I found this work of immense interest. The stories are full of life - amazing tales of struggles and the spirit of human persistence. This work is one of my resources for personal writing and/or ghost authoring. I found this work's contents helpful and inspiring. Overall, this work is also a good resource for the researcher, enthusiast and historian.
