Using examples and illustrations from chemistry, physics, mathematics, computer science, and engineering, this helpful guide gives readers simple step-by-step procedures for keeping lab notebooks and writing lab reports, formal research papers, and science essays.
Published in 1995, this book is a little bit dated. I picked it up free and used, and figured it could teach me (a science editor) a bit about how scientists themselves approached the problems in writing. This is a book written by a scientist, for scientists. I wish that all scientists would read this book, and it covers many of the basic problems I run into every day (for the love of god, cut it out with the passive voice and million-word sentences!). I also think scientists won't get as defensive hearing the criticism from one of their own. I think we def. need more books like this. I wish they would make another edition of this one, actually.
