As an elite Warrior for the Vampire King, Stu’s only mission in life is to wipe out the Rebels’ Army, and maybe destroy a few Soul Eaters along the way. That all changes the night a Witch stumbles into the crossfire, using her healing powers to save one of his Warriors.
Keltti, a lone Witch in the big city, is elated to start working as a healer for the King’s Army. Using her magic for a good cause, she has finally found the sense of belonging that has been eluding her for years.
Working alongside the Warriors to protect Calgary’s supernatural community, Keltti finds an unlikely family in the Brotherhood of Vampires – along with an unexplainable desire for one sexy, dangerous vampire in particular.
Stu realizes that Keltti is his one true life mate. But with war raging he refuses to complete the mating bond – a refusal which makes Keltti wonder if she ever really belonged in the first place.
Born and raised on the beautiful Canadian prairies, Everlyn prefers to spend her time outdoors with her family kayaking, skating, fishing, and hunting. She loves reading and writing about vampires, witches, fae and zombies that get to find their own version of happily ever after.
Warrior Vampires, a witch with healing powers and a touch of wolves always add up for a good storyline. The slow romance between Stu and Keltti nearly drove me crazy at times, but the end made up for it. The nightly fights with Rebel vampires and Keltti's abduction added some action and drama. I sensed that more will follow about the other interesting characters in upcoming books. An easy relaxing read all in all which I enjoyed I received an advanced review copy from BookSirens and l leave this review voluntary.
Nothing to see here folks; just a shepherd looking out for her flock. Of Vampires. With a handgun. A really big handgun. Filled with poisoned bullet."
This was one of my favorite quotes from the book. It was a quick read and grabs you right away. This book has stu the male vampire and Keltti the witch with healing powers. This is a fated mates story, with blood and tears. I can't wait to see what comes next in the world.

This book has an interesting plot. It is filled with Vampires, Witches, and Dated Mates. It has been a quick and magical read for me. The slow burn romance was a treat to read. I was absolutely going crazy about what is going to happen next.
Fantasy is my favourite kind of Genre and the author has done great justice with their flawless writing skills. The character development and world building was amazing to read. The plot twists were really interesting and I loved the blend of Modern Romance with Supernatural flavours. I really had a fun time reading it.

This review is basically a big spoiler. Continue at your own risk.
The book feels unfinished, and there are some things that needed to have been wrapped up. Like why her power got stronger after that time jump because when the book started, she was talking about how she was such a novice, and then all of a sudden here she is this great powerful witch.
I wasn’t too convinced about the romance if there was any really, between her and Stu. I just think that it’s missing a lot. The random POVs with people that I don’t know were awkward and out of place. I’m assuming that there’s going to be a follow up book because we got no answers about Hadley. We got no answers about that random vampire that showed up looking for her. There were no answers about the random vampire that was kidnapping people and trying to save Sarah I guess and the werewolf chapters were kind of unnecessary. I mean I guess in the end they were essential in order to save Keltti from her captivity, but I don’t really get the point of the chapters other than to introduce them to the reader so that way they could be there to help her later, but it feels choppy. I don’t think I’m going to read the next book. I’m not interested enough to read anymore of this story, and there wasn’t any spice, even though apparently the whole mating bond was supposed to be so sexual. We just got some inappropriate (for the situation they were in) teenager level action.
I did however like Keltti and how strong she was. She didn’t shy away from danger or helping people in need. Her power was great even if it grew exponentially without any real explanation. I loved how caring she was with the kid vampires. I also liked the different take on vampires.
Random thoughts while I was reading :
These vampires better fly with this title or I’m calling false advertisement 😂
3rd person POV Dual POV Keltti-witch Stu-Vampire (eww to Stu tho😬)
7 vampires to enforce the Kings laws.
Set in Canada
Time jump was weird and I don’t understand the werewolf Chapter yet. Like why is she a friend of the pack? I get why she was offered it but like why is it relevant to the story?
Also half way thru and her and Stu 🤢 still haven’t gotten together.
Awkward time for a time jump but I guess it was in place for her to learn more powers? But we didn’t see that.
49% and we have an Arvid POV for the first time
66% who tf is Hadley and whyyyyyy does she have a POV so late in the book?
I am not a fan of these POVs from people I don’t know or care about.

First off I was to thank BookSirens for this arc, and giving me the opportunity to honestly review this book!
Trigger warnings? Nope.
Safety? FMC hasn’t dated anyone in a decade, so the first chapter is her attempting to go in a date with OM. The OM does not show up for the date. The FMC has not been with anyone since meeting the MMC. There are interested OM, and I think the FMC shows interest while the MMC is ignoring her (after the 5 year separation). MMC was not celibate after meeting the FMC. Actively ignores the connection to her, and uses blood-drinking houses where the vampires hook up with the hosts.
My thoughts? I absolutely love paranormal romances, so I was excited going into this. It was different than what I was expecting but was still a paranormal romance so I read the entire book. I will say for spice- there were some scenes of her giving him handjobs, but there are no penetrative sex scenes. Those scenes are closed door. To make this somewhat simple I’m going to list what I liked and what I didn’t like below!
Here’s what I liked: The bond between the FMC and the other vampire warriors. I love how she got along with everyone and they all liked her. The interactions with the kids introduced into the story- it made me happy that the FMC stepped into caretaker mode briefly. That the FMC walked away when the MMC was treating her like crap. The fact that while the FMC didn’t date during the 5 year separation, she was perfecting her witch magic. I absolutely love that.
Here are what I didn’t like: Felt like the MMC and FMC were fighting their attraction to each other for too long in the story. Was literally gosbsmacked when that 5 year separation came out of seemingly nowhere. The MMC was a bit of a horn-dog, which I usually don’t mind, but there was a scene where the FMC was seriously injured and the MMC “had to” strip her naked for skin to skin so she would warm up. That scene gave me the ick. The use of “Indian summer”. Considering I am Canadian and have never heard this term it definitely left me confused. When I looked it up it means a unusual warm spell between November 11th and November 20th. This term came to be when colonizer’s observed the indigenous people of the land hunting during a warm spell in November. With the origins, it felt outdated to use and it left me confused in the moment. There was one scene were it was assumed that the MMC fed from the FMC(before the 5 year separation), but it cut off. Like completely and then the topic wasn’t touched on for a bit. The FMC (later in the story) also phrased one of her thoughts as if the MMC hadn’t fed from her yet- so that left me confused.
Overall, I tried my best to enjoy this story. Paranormal romances are some of my favourite, but when the romance is lacking it’s hard for me to enjoy it as much. It felt like their romance was only relying on the fact that they bonded towards the end (on accident) rather than seeing the couple fall in love with each other. The epilogue was them moved into his room at the castle, so it seemed more like a HFN than a HEA.

“Because nobody messed with her flock.”
Keltti is a witch, just trying to live her life. She is slowly trying to ease herself into the dating pool, but it’s not going well. Stu is a vampire, a warrior for the king, just trying to survive. He doesn’t have time to think about life mates, love, or romance. He has to stay alive and help keep his brothers alive.
This was an interesting take on mythical lore. I enjoyed how things were explained and how each supernatural group was represented.
Keltti was such a fun character. She was so brave, caring, and fierce. I enjoyed her growth throughout the book. She is a force to be reckoned with. I liked Stu and his darkness. He was very mission-oriented, and when his mission shifted- I loved how he embraced it.
There were many great characters, and I enjoyed all the vamps in the King's army and the wolf pack. I am intrigued by the other forces that are sure to come into play with this series.
This was nicely done as an introduction to the things that are coming. We are introduced to many characters, and I am guessing most will revisit in future books.
Overall, this was a nice balance of romance, action, and mystical storytelling. I think this series has a lot of potential, and I look forward to the next book.
This was a quick and action-packed read about a loner witch and a brotherhood of elite warrior vampires that she 'adopts' as her flock.
I loved the dynamic between the FMC Keltti and the MMC Stu- the slowburn build-up to their romance, the angst and broodiness were all on point! I also really enjoyed how the POV swapped between them.
There were a couple of little parts in the book that I found hard to follow, but overall I still enjoyed reading it.
The ending wasn't what I expected, and I'm hoping for another book (from what I can work out this is the first in a series), because while the couple have their HEA, there were quite a few unresolved things that I would love answered.
Recommend if you love reading urban paranormal books about vampires, shifters, and witches, with plenty of mystery and action.

☆I recieved an ARC of this book from the author. All thoughts are my own honest opinions.☆
The title if this book just drew me in and then when I saw it was an elite group of Vampire Warriors, I couldn’t resist. I really liked the premise for this story and Keltti the witch but Stu seriously pissed me off! He took so freaking long to just admit his feelings then finally does when she’s dancing with Alpha wolf at the local bar. I was like dude! Wake the hell up!!! Then Stu and Keltti finally get mated then she gets kidnapped, ugh!!!. I was so frustrated with Stu for most of the book and if a book gets me to react that way , it means I was connected to the characters and wanted to slap him! So the author did a good job creating characters you can connect with.
I received this ARC from BookSirens and I’m voluntarily leaving my review. My opinions are my own.

A Flock of Vampires had an interesting premise - warrior vampires, witches, fated mates. I enjoyed seeing the bonds that Keltti and her "flock" developed together.
The one thing that drove me crazy was how long the slow burn romance took to come to fruition. Keltti and Stu were a cute couple but at times I was left not understanding why they made some of the decisions that they did. It felt like there needed to be a little more of the thought processes of each character shown before some things occurred.
I really think overall the book had great potential and I did enjoy it. I would only prefer a little more smooth transitioning between events in future books. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This is a slow build romance about fated mates set in a world of magic and supernatural beings. It follows the story of An elite vampire warrior and a witch that starts working as a healer for the vampires. One of them understands they are fated and is fighting it and the other does not understand why they feel like they do. It is written from the pov of both the main characters which I found interesting although at times I wanted to slap one of the characters for the choices they made and the things they said I did like both characters and wanted a happy ending for them together lol
this story had layers to it in the back ground of this slow burn supernatural romance you definitely seem to have a bigger story playing out I don’t want to say it left you on cliffhanger because I was pleased with the conclusion for the two main characters and was not left with the frustrating feeling of a cliffhanger but the book definitely left me with a few questions about some of secondary characters that I am hoping will be answered in future books?
I found this an enjoyable read that I read in one sitting as once I started I lost track of time and before I knew it the book was finished and it was 3am in the morning lol

I managed to get an ARC of this book, my hopes were not that high but boy was I wrong.
This book is a first in a new series and has a lot of world building to do, while keeping the main story flowing. This is not an easy task and books can feel like they are overloaded with filler, distracting from the main story. I felt at times the chapters pulled you in too many directions, as the author tried to start threads we will see in further books. Normally this annoys me greatly, but I felt this time the balance was almost done right. Things felt a little rough as we are introduced to new people who will play a bigger role down the line.
I found our little witch healer to be very endearing and very likeable. Actually a breath of fresh air as we avoid the typical tropes of assholes who cause the plot to stumble at the worst times. It was brilliant to be introduced to these hard assed Vampire warriors. It reminded me of some of the vamps we meet in the Chicagoland Vampires series and I say this with high praise.
I find it hard to get into new series, but for once I have come across a book that has drawn me in and I am desperate for the next book to come out ASAP.
Let me start by saying that while there are some definitely flaws in the story, which I'll explain, I finished this book in less than 12hrs.
I loved the slow burn between Stu and Keltti. They were so cute in their efforts to avoid what they were feeling.
The things that kept this book from being 5 stars for me was that it felt very disjointed at times. It felt very much like a individual situations strung together into a book. While some of it flowed well other parts didn't for me. The introduction of new characters was awkward at times.
Overall, the story has tons of potential and I would read the next in the series to see what happens next. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I cannot tell you how much I loved this. I’m obsessed with witch/vampire romances. Or just witch/vampire books in general. And this one was everything I wanted in a book.
There was character development, an amazing plot, a really good conflict and resolution. I really hope this series continues on!!
Loved every bit of this! Stan knew she was his one but was trying to deny it. Keltti found her purpose working with Stu and the other brothers and knew something was special about Stu. Their love was intense and passion super hot. Great plot kept the pages turning with some interesting twists. So good. I cannot wait for the next one!

I loved this little fun read. A good splash of action, some intrigue and a sweet little romance and some alpha arseholery, lol. Reminded me of twilight in parts, but I really liked the witch. She was a fiesty, strong willed character.
This book was an enticing blend of drama, emotion, suspense and action that very quickly grabbed my attention and kept me invested until the last page was turned.
I have read this book and giving my honest review. Oh my goodness what a book and story. Could not put this down. Had to find out what was happening. Full of tension, excitement, sexy it was awesome. Laughed in some parts as very funny. I loved the vampires, wolfs etc and you really got into the book. I hope another book 2 , as the people were amazing. I am not spoiling, you honestly have to read this book for yourself. I really hope you enjoy as much as I did.,
New author for me. Well-written with well-developed characters and an engaging storyline. The story flowed and kept my interest, enough that I'd like to see more from this cast of characters. Definitely recommend this book.
Vampire warriors saving the planet + fated mates + sexy alpha males! I loved the slow burn between Keltti and Stu. Very comparable to the black dagger brotherhood series.
This story is about a witch and a vampire falling for each other while fighting against evil. The vampire fights his hidden lust and the mating call until he can’t resist her any longer. This is a good YA book.
If you enjoy paranormal romance with lots of strong handsome vampires you’re in for a treat with “A Flock of Vampire’s” This novel has a great storyline giving us a perfect understanding of how vampires live amongst the humans, while continually protecting them from evil and supernatural beings who are continually trying to either expose themselves or live in the shadows or to simply try and take over the world and be the dominant species. The Bloddrikked are a special team of vampires who are trained to be warriors prepared to die for their king or die protecting those the king’s cares about, and that happens to be humanity. Suddenly after trying to catch those vampires who have turned feral, they suddenly finds themselves in a very dangerous situation, while attempting to take a group down they had to save a witch who was awed by the power and strength of these vampires, Kelti saw that one of the vampires was badly wounded and would not make it unless she did something to help. Stu had tried to keep the little witch safe. But this determined caring stubborn witch made it known that she was not answerable to them and she would use her powers to help the vampire who was injured. This then put Kelti in an amazing position because now she could help those warriors who got injured on site, giving them a better chance of living. Suddenly, one of these amazing Warriors found he couldn’t get Kelti out of his mind and wanted nothing more than to protect and care for her, which he believes is not good for either of them Ms Thompson has done a magnificent job of putting together a script full of heart-wrenching decisions, potentially explosive emotional situations, and a couple who don’t know if they hate or love each other 5 An extremely enticing book with individual characters that are easily found to be easy to care about and to believe in. Can a strong, sensitive witch deal with a moody arrogant vampire when they find themselves drawn to each other, this book will give us a detailed understanding of how they could possibly deal with it. A great read that I highly recommend you read.
Say please. What? Did she just tell him... Say. Please. His brothers were going to have to get used to seeing him in his skivvies, because it was official-he no longer wore the pants in this relationship. He probably never had-he just hadn't known it until now.

This was the first book I have read by Everlyn C Thompson, and I would read more by them. This was an interesting take on vampires, fated mates, and this paranormal world as a whole.
You have the main story between Stu, the Vampire Warriors, and Keltti.. Then you kinda have the story of Keltti’s background, and her trying to find herself, and her powers.. And then the war going on and.. While there is a lot going on, it is handled fairly well. There are times where I got a bit confused, but I think that might have been due to time jumps, or jumping places/characters, and not noting it right away.
Overall, I enjoyed the plot and the character, and would read more about them, and this world as a whole.
If you are looking for spice, it does take a while to happen. When it does, it feels fairly natural for their characters at that point. So, don’t go into this thinking spicy times happen on the first pages.

I was totally surprised by this book, it was different from what I already have read. We are placed in the middle of the action and will understand the world in which the characters live throughout reading. It's not just another romance story, it has its own very well constructed and developed plot, with unique aspects that have taken a hold on myself. Vampire clan wars, werewolves, kidnappings, it doesn't give a rest, but that just means that we stay put on the page.
The book has a double perspective, which I love, so I can be aware of what they both are feeling. It makes everything cuter and funnier. Because they don't understand each other, or well, they understand, they just don't want to give in. They are two very strong willed characters, she has tons of determination and does not wait for anyone to get what she wants, he is an impeccable soldier with a tough personality, but he is so careful with her and possessive, that he is just adorable. And I loved all the characters in the clan, each one a crucial element and each one bringing something to the book. Just like the werewolf pack.
The book's writing is very clear and direct, which makes the moments of action very well constructed, but manages to surprise us with the discreet humor that is passed on to the reader.
I want to say thank you to the author Everlyn C Thompson and BookSirens for the ARC. Thank you so much.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Ripped this from the eager hands of staff members...I wanted to start this series and it was a great decision. The simple fact is that when you finish this work, you will be desperate for the next book. The next one may not even be written yet but that doesn't stop me from dreaming about this book.
Keltti is the most amazing character to walk out of a book in practically decades. Keltti could be as popular as a combo of Lara Craft and Hermione. I simply love Keltti and her journey is the gel for this fantastic book.
Stu is the brooding vamp that people who drool over brooding vamps will love. Simon does an admirable job of leading a den of werewolves. Yes, any fan of Twilight or True Blood will simply have to own this book.
The book is one of the most gripping and addictive reading experiences you can have. I cannot recommend this book hard enough. It is simply an incredible effort by a fantastic author. I was not familiar with Everlyn C. Thompson but now she is one of my fave authors.
Brilliant written, superbly described, action filled with great character development. The story is so all encompassing that a reader lucky enough to start this book won't want it to end. A truly incredible book that I think is one of the best vampire/witch books of this century.
Stu & Keltti: Sweet Couple But Not Enough Intimacy On Page
This book was referred by a Paranormal Facebook group I’m in and I really enjoyed the story. However, it just felt like it could have been… more.
This story puts me in the mind of the Black Dagger Brotherhood but instead you have soldiers in the Vampire King’s Army. These are seven vampires who have taken an oath not to only protect vampires but all supernatural beings. We have Stu, a hard as nails soldier who falls for a healer named Keltti, a witch who happens to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. They have an instant attraction to one another and Stu is determined to ignore the obvious attraction: Keltti is his mate.
I loved the back and forth between these two and the side characters (soldiers) makes me want to continue this series just to read their stories. However, even though Stu and Keltti had some hot scenes, I felt that it was a huge build up to nothing. There were many references to what they wanted to do sexually to each other in the book, but I felt like I was built up and the book failed to deliver the scene the author kept reading us would happen between the two only to fade ti black and the end and have them consummating their relationship off-page.
Bummer.
Nevertheless, the story will hold your attention and the plot is excellent. But don’t look for smut or dirty talk because you won’t find any. Still a good read.
I had the pleasure of meeting the author of this book and she was super sweet and approachable. Her writing style is easy to grasp and I really enjoyed the banter and that each character had a very distinct style and way of speaking.
The story itself was interesting and I enjoyed the little differences in the way that the vampires lived and governed. It gave the story something a little different. Keltti and Stu have great chemistry when they are together and I honestly wished they had more time to build on that attraction before the mating bond clicked into place.
I gave this book three stars because I found that switching between points of view was confusing at times, especially when a new POV was introduced. Also there are points where a scene ends very abruptly and they are in a completely different area with little to no explanation of the events that occurred in between.
This story was well-written and I liked all of the characters, I just wish that it was expanded upon. I think this very easily could have been a duology or even a trilogy with all the different supernatural characters. I just wanted more overall and maybe a bit more sharing of emotional moments with Stu and Keltti just to really show that their true feelings weren’t mostly based on attraction and the pull of the mating bond.
Overall an enjoyable read, just wanted a little more expansion on the story.
This author is new to me so I had no expectations but I was pleased.
The story is told from multiple POVs which allows the reader to get to know both main protagonists and secondary characters alike and this adds a layer of richness to the tale. The authors style of writing is enjoyable and flows very well, keeping the action moving at a steady pace.
The author has done a reasonable job of world- building but there were some large gaps that could have been expanded or at the very least filled in so that the reader isn’t left wondering. Some minor grammar mistakes but nothing that detracts from the enjoyment of the story. What was more distracting to me was in the formatting of the pages….many times the story jumped from one POV to another without any significant break in the layout of the page but as mentioned, this is a formatting thing.
The chemistry between the two leads was nice and had enough sizzle to keep the reader interested although I personally could have used just a little more heat but that’s just me. There were times I wanted to smack the male lead for being so “macho” but in a weird way it suited his overall character and the female lead turned out not to be some damsel in distress and I really appreciated that.
Overall, I ended up caring what happens to these characters and was invested in their story. It’s enjoyable and entertaining and will thoroughly suit fans of the paranormal genre.
I went into this story blind, and I’m so glad I did because this one was engaging with all kinds of twists and turns. Keltti is a healer witch recruited by the Vampire King’s elite warriors. This is where she meets a delightful group of vampire personalities, including her mate. She is a witch and doesn’t know he’s her mate. But he does. She ALSO meets an Alpha wolf shifter. when she saves his sister. He also has his romantic gaze directed at Keltti.
The point of view jumps around, but the narration of the story managed to keep me on track with what was happening. Keltti, the healer, has a sense of authentic naïveté to her voice, and even though the Author uses an omniscient third person voice, it is clearly contrasted with Stu, the grumpy, broody vampire warrior.
Let’s talk about the setting, because it’s one that I’m so familiar with: (For once!) Calgary, Alberta. This added an extra level of enjoyment as I read about places I was familiar with, instead of a vague sense of NYC, or trying to figure out where Chipping Norton is.
Overall I enjoyed this one, it’s engaging, exciting, with slow burn romance and an amazing array of characters. The plot is exciting and it reads like you are binging a show on Netflix with all the twists and turns.
Thank you to Book Sirens for providing a copy of this book. My review and opinions are my own.
Thank you, BookSirens, for a copy of this ARC in exchange for an honest review ✌️✨️
In this book, we've got •Dual POV ✌️ •Dominant Male/Independent Female 👀 •Vampires, Witches, Wolf Shifters & More 🧚♀️ •Fated Mates ❤️ •Light Spice 🌶 •Slow Burn 🔥
This book involves the riveting story of a strong, generally loner vamp male, who accidently ends up running into his fated mate while on a mission. She's a witch healer just trying to live her life; unaware that she's found her "flock" in this new life she's living. ✨️📚
My complaints with this one: •In some areas of this book, we need more description. These scenes do not flow. At times, I found myself, not confused, but wondering where other characters were or what the scenery was. •These characters deserve better banter, chemistry, character development, and so much more. I felt such a lack of connection with these characters simply because they were so lacking as far as writing style. These characters deserve better. •Please tone down the "sh*t on a stick" and the exclamation points. There's too many. Absolutely too many.
That's all I got this time, guys. Overall, an enjoyable book, especially for the time it took to read through. Solid ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Check it out!
Flock of Vampires follows a group of elite vampire warriors. While on a mission, Stu, a loner, meets his mate, Keltti, a witch healer. This is Stu and Keltti's story.
I love some paranormal romance or mayhem, with vampires, witches, werewolves, oh my! This has the making of a great book, but fell flat for me.
The book has great world-building and action scenes. The writing is stolid, but lacks detail, and the flow could be better throughout. I found myself confused at times, because the flow/pacing is off or ideas are not complete enough to make sense.
There's many interesting side characters I'd love reading about, but I loathed Stu. I enjoy a slow-burn romance, but find the pace of the relationship excruciating painful. Stu is a complete asshole. He's a rude, cruel, controlling, and abusive mate. I like couples to be well matched. Keltti outshines Stu in every way. She's smart, kind, courageous, and compassionate. This couple lacks chemistry, banter and depth, and I didn't feel connected to Stu at all. Nor did I want to root for their HEA. I was rooting for everyone else's.
Overall, a pretty solid read. I enjoyed myself, but my dislike of our male lead is STRONG! I'd prefer my books to be less frustrating reads.
