At a barbecue reuniting the Class of ’68, Kate Jasper finds that Sid Semling, master prankster, is just as obnoxious as he was in school. He pinches the women, insults the men, and programs Kate’s pinball machine to spew offensive comments. But no one is laughing when Sid is suddenly electrocuted by Kate’s pinball machine. And as the owner of the deadly machine, Kate is first in the class of suspects…
Jaki Girdner lives, works, practices tai chi, and eats her vegetables in Marin County, California, along with her favourite computer peripheral, Famous Spouse Gregory Booi.
Wow! Class reunions ARE murder (Sorry Libby Klein!) Kate and Wayne go to her 25th Class Reunion and later to BBQ at a former classmate's house only to watch him get electrocuted with one of her pinball machines. Too bad the police didn't catch the culprit before Kate did - at her house!
You shouldn’t need to wait for the murderer’s confession to realize quite how despicable the victim was. Apart from that, my major objection was Kate’s fiancé, Wayne. Fine, he’s not gorgeous. Homely. Yeah, yeah, I got it. But we heard so much about his low eyebrows—“his eyes were lost under the cliff of his low brows”—that he started looking like a Neanderthal in my mind’s eye. Almost a surprise she never mentioned his knuckles dragging on the ground.
Scenario: high school reunion. Year of graduation: same as mine. Make me feel old? Only because it was a twenty-fifth reunion and the book is now twenty years old…

It was still very light but this was better than some of her past books.
