Alvin Alexander is one of the most well-known authors in the Scala programming field, having written over 3,000 pages of highly-rated Scala books, including the 1st and 2nd Editions of the Scala Cookbook , and Functional Programming, Simplified , all of which are rated 4.5 stars and higher. He also wrote the Scala Book for the official Scala website, and co-wrote the Scala 3 Book .

His personal mission is to make it as simple and inexpensive as possible to learn Scala, so while he could easily charge $30 or more for this book, it’s his desire to make it only $10.

In this new book — Learn Scala 3 The Fast Way! — he makes the process of learning Scala 3 as simple as possible — it’s like a classroom in a book. As you can see in the table of contents in the Kindle preview, the book contains over 80 lessons, and it’s also over 270 pages long. Here’s what makes the book Studies show that reading alone isn’t enough for human beings to learn, and even highlighting and underlining text doesn’t help as much as you’d expect. The only way to truly remember what you have read is to use it. Through small lessons, source code examples, and online exercises, this book’s goal is to make it as easy as possible to remember and use what you just read.

As an added bonus, if you happen to get away from Scala and then come back to it, you’ll find that the online exercises are a great way to test your memory, and help you recall the most important points of each lesson.

In summary, this book provides the best way to learn Scala 3, from one of the Scala industry’s most-acclaimed teachers, who also wants to make it as inexpensive as possible to learn Scala!

The title says it all, it's a very good book for beginners in Scala. The topics are presented in a very succinct way in short chapters with optional online exercises. I wish I had this book when l had to work with Play framework.
