Charles Ogden is the pen name used by a collection of authors at Star Farm Productions for the Edgar & Ellen book series for children and young adults. The pen name is credited with nine books (with a tenth upcoming), published by both Tricycle Press, and more recently, Simon & Schuster.

Started out slightly dull but grew better. Cute, cute little thing. The drawings are scarce but fun in a gothic childish way. Think of Nightmare before Christmas kind of thing. I did laugh aloud a few times, humorous moments especially when things really got going. Easy to visualize what was going on from the writing style. The characters were fun and easy for adults and children alike to latch on to. The story was complex and complicated enough to be daring, original, and makes this fill up with substance. The ending was a little twisted with what happened with the plant, and ironic with the very end, but this fits into the bizarre gothic trend the author is going for. The end of the book has a code to unlock things on the site, where apparently there are games and other things. Will actually check it out. The only edition I have of the series but if I run into more, will pick it up. At 152 pages it is not a quick, light read for the young ones, but interesting for them and adults as well will appreciate the fun humor (especially the bees)

Seakan tak pernah merasa lelah ataupun puas, Edgar & Ellen kembali menyusun rencana yang tak kalah gelap dibanding semua kekacauan yang telah mereka timbulkan saat parade besar-besaran dilaksanakan di Nod’s Limbs beberapa waktu lalu. Mengandalkan Pemakaman Gadget, mereka selalu menemukan benda yang berguna yang dibutuhkan dalam merealisasikan ide-ide gila yang dituliskan Edgar dalam beberapa lembar kertas.

Rasa bersalah tak sekalipun muncul diwajah keduanya. Yang ada hanyalah senyum pertanda rasa puas ketika berhasil membuat orang –orang menggerutu. Sampai suatu hari tibalah giliran si kembar, yang selalu mengenakan piama kemanapun mereka pergi, merasakan hal yang sama. ide – ide kenakalan mereka telah diwujudkan oleh seseorang. Tak berhenti sampai disitu, rencana yang seharusnya hanya diketahui oleh Edgar dan Ellen ini juga membubuhkan nama Mason. Seakan digunakan untuk mematenkan semua kekacauan yang menyebabkan kemacetan luar biasa adalah miliknya seorang.

Belum juga sembuh dari kejutan menyakitkan dan rasa kesal karena belum juga mendapatkan orang dibalik sosok Mason, Edgar & Ellen harus menelan pil pahit ketika mengetahui bahwa rencana Walikota Knightleigh tetap menjalankan rencananya membangun Hotel di atas tanah Tempat Pembuangan Sampah.

Penyelidikan demi penyelidikan pun dimulai. Saluran pembuangan bawah tanah yang gelap dan kotor pun mereka susuri. Tak disangka, saluran – saluran yang berabad-abad lalu selalu bersih, terang dan terawat itu memiliki banyak cabang yang cukup membingungkan. Namun itu tak mematahkan semangat keduanya untuk mencari sang biang kerok yang berulang kali mencuri ide milik Edgar & Ellen.

Penyusuran mereka tak sia-sia. Beberapa barang bukti berhasil ditemukan. Sampai kesimpulan mengarah pada seseorang yang tak pernah mereka duka. Seseorang yang mereka takuti. Jebakan pun dibuat untuk menangkap sang pengkhianat. Namun pada saat mengetahui bahwa kekacauan lain terjadi. Mereka sadar bahwa orang yang mereka tangkap bukanlah Mason. Di luar sana Mason yang asli masih berkeliaran dan dengan bebas menjalankan satu lagi ide milik mereka.

Tak hanya Edgar dan Ellen, semua orang pun akan merasa geram jika mengalami hal yang sama. Pencurian ide oleh seseorang yang tidak bertanggung jawab merupakan gangguan pada semboyan Schadenfreude mereka. Gangguan yang lebih tepat disebut sebagai ancaman. Karena kini ada satu warga kota Nod’s Limbs yang mengetahui rahasia kelam mereka. Entah apakah ini akan menjadi hal yang mempengaruhi langkah mereka berikutnya. Semuanya hanya akan terjawab diseri Edgar & Ellen berikutnya.

Berbeda dengan buku – buku sebelumnya, buku ini terasa sedikit menyedihkan. Selain itu di buku ini terdapat misteri yang tidak kunjung terjawab sampai di akhir halaman.

Berbicara tentang terjemahan, ada penamaan yang berubah. Kuburan Perkakas, dua kata yang pada buku pertama dan kedua digunakan oleh Edgar dan Ellen untuk menyebut tempat pembuangan sampah kini berubah menjadi Pemakaman Gadget. Sesuatu yang mungkin luput dari perhatian penerjemah dan editor. Walaupun tidak mempengaruhi jalannya cerita, ada baiknya tidak ada perubahan apaun terhadap nama tempat.

This is the best one yet. There were more twists than I expected and I actually felt suspense, which so far as been something missing from the series to me.

Of course, it still bothers me when they torment Pet, so I'm thinking I'm going to have to go ahead and buy Pet's Revenge.

Also, I do really wish they would change out of those footie pajamas. Something about them tramping around in the sewers (albeit relatively clean ones) and not changing afterwords makes me itch a little. But I suppose that's one of the things Edgar and Ellen are known for.

Bukuku yang hilang, hiks.

Edgar dan Ellen, si kembar dengan ide jahat. Dan kali ini, mereka dibuat kesal oleh sosok misterius yang menamai dirinya Mason, karena dia selalu saja mencuri ide mereka dan berhasil mendahuluinya! Belum selesai urusan dengan Mason, Walikota pun ikut-ikutan mencari masalah dengan si kembar. Ia bersikukuh mau membangun hotel di atas tempat pembuangan yang mana adalah tempat penuh harta karun favorit si kembar. Mereka pun turun ke bawah tanah, mencoba mencari jejak Mason. Tapi yang ditemui mereka adalah sesuatu yang sangat berbeda!

These books are definitely getting better as they go on. I also really like how the events from the previous book affect this one. It's not something you see often in chapter books. This entry not only shows the twins working with a partner (it's nice to see what their interactions are like with people when they're not pranking them), but also gives us quite an emotional moment.

This book is about a new woman copycat prankster named "The Mason" and she is copying Edgar and Ellen's plan to make the town, Nod's Limb miserable. My opinion in this book is that it is a great book because it is not that hard to understand the details and you can predict what will happen next. In addition, there are a lot of actions and good descriptions in the book that makes the book amazing. The genre for this book is fantasy fiction mixed with adventure. I like reading these types of books because they make me get happy sometimes and won't get bored. I sometimes think that everyday life in my world is very tiring, so reading these types of books also can cheer me up. I like reading fantasy fiction books because they help me calm down and relax. A theme that I found in this book is that there has to be some kind of reason why someone is copying you. I can personally relate to this theme because there was a copycat in my elementary school and he always tried to copy what I was doing. I then figured out that he wants to make fun of me and tried to be smart. The character that stood out to me is "The Mason" because she is a very good copycat prankster and she really made Edgar and Ellen suspicious of her. "The Mason" copied Edgar and Ellen's plans and ideas very well, but she improved them. "The Mason's" real name is Eugiuene. She is also the evil character that appears in the book often and causing problems to Nod's Limb. I would recommend this book to people who likes Edgar and Ellen's books and are young readers.

I read the book Edgar and Ellen Under Town by Charles Ogden. The book is about twins named Edgar and Ellen and they live in a ten story house alone because their parents left them and haven't returned back.

I loved this book because of all of the adventure they have with no parents. I also loved this book because I can relate to Edgar and Ellen for some reason probably because they are so adventurous and funny. I also I loved when they made a catapult and they never gave up until they exceeded.

I would recommend this book to people who love adventurous kinds of books. I would also recommend this book to people who love to read and want something that is adventurous and funny at the same time. I would rate this book a 5 out of 5 stars.

The twisted twins find out that their plans in “Tourist Trap” did not work out quite as well as they hoped. The hotel is still planned to be built on the junk yard lot! Edgar & Ellen need to make new plans to stop the construction and quick, but someone is already doing that. Who could this mysterious person be and why are they stealing all of Edgar & Ellen’s plans and gadgets? The only clue is hidden below ground Under Town!

The mayor wants to take over Edgar & Ellen's home...condemn it and turn it into a Community Redevelopment project.

Scheming against the town people (as always) Edgar & Ellen find a way to save their home and discredit the Mayor.
