Although I enjoyed this issue, I sort of feel like this series is starting to drag on in a way. I love Alfred too much to give this anything lower than a 3.5/4 star.
I would really like to read this straight through like I did with the others, I think. The drama is really lost when you have to wait a couple months between chapters!
That being said, I did enjoy the progression here. There are definitely a LOT of DC references, so if you're not familiar with ALL the DC universe some of it will be lost on you like it was on me. But it's still easy enough to get the gist, so it doesn't hugely interrupt the story.
Stakes are still nice and high but finally I think we're seeing a bit of a turnaround. I did immensely enjoy how this issue finished up so I'm ready for the good guys to finally regain the upper hand.
Dceased is finally wrapping up soon for it's final storyline and shit is going down. Another big twist, someone who dies was unexpected, and a new "hero" arrives. Things are spicing up again.
Lobo is enlisted to help save the universe. Kyle and Superman watch Kilowog’s destroyed world. Spectre faces off with the giant turned Mxyzptlk. The mother box held by Mr. Miracle is infected and the infected new gods make their way to the surviving heroes in a brutal and deadly clash seeing Leslie get taken out as well as some lanterns. Spectre and Mxyzptlk essentially take out each other while an infected Zuras pounds Damian Wayne forcing Alfred to accept the Spectre’s vengeance due to the loss of Leslie and all the prior people lost like Bruce, Dick and Jason.

So in previous numbers gods were zombified. Here one "died" and "resurrected"... Yep, all mu check marks/expectations from this series are been met and surpassed. Entertainment I enjoy.
Holy fucking shit I knew they were foreshadowing Alfred for something when they kept on repeating his rage but I thought that it would be him becoming a red lantern but THIS??? Oh my god
