This is a tale of fantasy, complete with a central character who is an old, almost naked man who roams freely throughout the world. To all outer appearances he looks and acts crazy. His words are baffling to ordinary men. The tale of Jestus is told through a narrator who comes into contact with the mad man and finds him to be full of fantasy and imagination. Soon things become topsy-turvy as the so-called fantasies of the mad man begin to impinge on real events. The narrator presents the crazy doings of the mad old man, whose name could be anything from Jestus to Bagus to Bagendotcom. Suddenly, the narrator stops differentiating between reality and fantasy, as a self-protective mechanism, and is unable to unravel either the mad man's sayings or the crazy things happening around him. This unusual story is written in a style mixing humour and irrational joy, as the narrator advises the characters that, to keep their sanity, they should use "fuzzy-dizzy" logic to happily sail through life. Jestus, the fantastic, the impossible, the incredible, the unbelievable, is a man filled with compassion, wisdom, humour and apparent craziness as a mask for all that is good. Consider, if you delete the T in Jestus, you have Jesus. Or perhaps Jestus really stands for it's a jest on us. V.S. Sury is a retired electrical engineer who used to work for the government. He lives in Karnataka, India.

The dilemma between being a hero and being an anti-hero and yet being a hero... lead character in the novel, who has many names, goes popularly by the name of Jestus and he keeps doing things which surprise most of the people around him. He is a scholar, intellectual and almost agnostic... still, there are the things about him which make people, who get along with him, insecure. You will certainly like this tale of funny instances with tattered dips in philosophy...

An unpleasant tale of an imaginative hero with weird works. This is not a usual fantasy book. It has something more to offer to the readers. It has a deep sense of emotions and ideas attached to them. A different kind of narrative has been presented by the author to re-establish the norms of fantasy literature.

The novel by V.S Sury is simple but elegant. The central character in this novel is all in all. There is a narrator who tells the story about the hero of the novel Jestus. He is a weird kind of hero who always makes funny arguments never settles with anything always looks for something else. His style, look and talks are way different than an ordinary person. The author has tried to create a different environment and a different setting for the rest of his series of this novel.
I just love reading the novel because of it appeals me to do so. I have been reading different kinds of novels but this one is a pretty new experiment in an Indian environment. So, to everyone who loves to read something new the novel is for them.

This book is an approach towards making writing a better place. In recent days we witness those kinds of book those are not good in the language aspects. And hardy we can find the real language of novels in those novels. But V.S Sury has maintained the classic and dignity of language in his novel.
Coming to the point of theme, the novel has a new theme than an ordinary one. This is the journey to the unknown where it's hard to differentiate between imagination and reality. The more you will read this novel you will come up with new ideas.

There are many reasons that enhance the taste of readers day by day. Surely these kinds of a novel is a new creation that will attract the readers to read this. Because it provides a different kind of narrative and a different setting of the story.
The novel seems to be a quite amazing piece of literature. Exalted in the language and constant in his ideas. Though the dialogues of Jestus can make you laugh later you will understand the gravity of his arguments. A genuine fiction that explores all the dimension of imagination, deeds and reality.

The hero in this book starts off as a college professor who's thinking goes against the grain.

Surely, a different kind of novel that explains the ecstasy in a pretty elusive approach. The central character called Jestus seeks the joy in doing some unusual works and he talks unusual too. He has mastery over many languages and many more weird things he used to do.
The setting of the novel is different than the ordinary one. A Good work at all.

Interestingly unique

Sury pens a very interesting and intriguing story in Jestus. I have read anything from this author before, and I really enjoyed it. There was something very different about this fantastical story, and first, it was in first person. I know, not unique, but in this story, this makes it complex and unique because our main character has different aliases, and puts himself in different situations, where somehow, he makes it out the other end. It's a cross between reality and fantasy, and even in between. The writing style and technique is unlike I've seen before, and that's saying a lot. It's unusual, humorous, and even almost satiric, but all in all, extremely unique (or beyond unique). Sury has a very interesting storytelling style, and I hope it continues to create more stories. It's a great story to follow and try to figure out what will happen next. This author's characters develop and interacts well with the other characters. I look forward to reading many more stories by this author. Jestus is a definite recommendation by Amy's Bookshelf Reviews.

Jestus is a fictional tale about a person who is different in his existence, goes by various names and somehow survives every ordeal he deals with. The protagonist’s story is narrated in the first person and constantly keeps you wondering how complex his personality is.
There are many mysteries, humour, and even, sometimes, philosophical debates embodied in the literature. The book is modern and lengthy. I particularly enjoyed how the narrator changed between reality and fantasy, constantly making the reader speculate what was happening. This may not be suitable for everyone tastes. Logic may not always work when reading this book but what existed was interesting to read.

Jestus is always seeking joy in doing something unusual, which matches with the encounters he experiences.

I recommend this book to anyone who likes to read contemporary style literature.

Can you imagine this kind of book in this area? If you ask me honestly I would probably say no. But when you will read this surely you gonna enjoy this wonderful work of art. finding pathos in modern days novels are rare but you will find in this. The strength of the argument is pretty heavyweight.
The plot construction and the narration of the story are wonderful. The role of the central character and the way he organises his life is really a nice kind of work done by the author.
At last, this is a wonderful book and you must enjoy reading this special kind of work.

What an incredible idea presented in this book. The name of the central character is Jestus and if you remove the letter 't you will end up with Jesus. That's why he ensure such kind of activity to ensure the funny and wonderful things. The idea behind this book is really massive and constructive. The real message behind those funny acts by jesuts teaches us many things. He is not differentiating between imagination and reality. Enjoying his life the way he likes.
Really a high-class book in a sound and lucid language.

There are many things in this book to be like. Such as exalted language, fun, enjoyment of reading, a great idea, a wonderful teaching, a different kind of fantasy. The only thing that seems to me odd is the theme, these kind of themes are not relevant in recent days. But it's the not the fault of the author.

Rarity is strange but when it comes with a diplomatic approach seems a bit familiar. The novel written by V.S. Sury is different than the ordinary novels of recent days. there is a different plot where a man is somewhat naked and living his life on his will and thoughts. It makes it quite interesting and informative as well. Very strange kind of environment is presented in this book or a kind of imagination.

If you want to read this book then kept your logic aside. Then you will be not able to enjoy the book at its best. The all crazy doing of madman sometimes happens like real to that person who is listening to the story of Jestus in this novel. I enjoyed reading this book. I love to read these kinds of book that are different than the common themes of ordinary fictions like love and romance. Love is also presented in this novel but this one is weird. An unpleasant kind of character called Jestus explores the joy in irrational doing.

A hero with certain faults and a commitment to change the way of thinking of an ordinary layman.
