Novel set in the former Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe) centring on a very racist English family caught in the crosshairs of rebel Mugabe factions, a scathing, violent, and talky piece that captures a bleak period at the fag end of the British Empire with similar brittle humour as Anthony Burgess’s Malayan Trilogy.
