What a great and beautiful read! The themes of this story are familiar, but Ryan Spell writes in such a smart and captivating way, it makes the story fresh. Characters are well-developed and grounded in reality. This was one of those books I just couldn't put down.
Twisty thriller! A unique take on a serial killer thriller. If there's anything that honestly grabs my attention instantly and keeps me glued, then it's nothing but spying tales in novels or films. The scheme is indeed different. I loved the thrill of the discoveries and the surprising twists. It felt very much like a con inside of a con inside of a con. There were lots of moving pieces, and the author executed the plot perfectly. While the plot was engaging and kept me turning pages.
This book got me researching topics I never thought I'd wander around, the brutal murder, uncovering secrets and what not. The plot and the storyline are plain fantastic. Ryan Spell maintains the readers interest in the novel by dropping hints and red herrings at the appropriate times throughout the suspenseful and mysterious plot. The pace is perfect, and the tale moves along without any problems.
Readers will remain on the edge of their seats the entire time they are reading "An Army of Lies" a gripping murder mystery thriller. Readers will be left thinking and second-guessing themselves because of how skillfully the plot is put together, with its many turns.
I personally adore Lewis Pollard's Character in this story. He was loyal, a little eccentric, and always willing to go the extra mile. He's what most people call a trust fund kid. He even had the look of a trust fund baby, with good looks and an air of confidence, but he has a heart of gold.
The story's environment is well portrayed and has a satisfying climax and features well-written character struggles and dialogue.
The combination of sci-fi, horror and mysterious scenes is to be appreciated. The language used is too classy and professional with a great taste of vocabulary. The book cover is attractive and theme based. I was absolutely floored by this book.

The people who rated this 5 stars have me confused. Did we read the same book? This certainly wasn’t a 5 star book.
It was incredibly short - less than 200 pages and that resulted in a plot that developed too fast with no real explanation for the majority of events.
It was fairly predictable as to who the killer was and at no point was I left surprised.
I can’t remember who recommended it to me but I certainly can’t trust their judgement.

i have a weird relationship to this book. in august, i was on a white water rafting trip in estes park, co with a family of four. the father mentioned he was an author early in the day and i kinda forgot about it for the rest of the day. in the drive back to our cars, the dad who was seated behind me airdrops something to me fully unprompted without speaking to me. it was the cover of this book and gives me the elevator pitch of this book as well as the upcoming sequel at the time. it was such a wild guerrilla marketing tactic i almost had to respect it and committed to the bit of getting the book and audiobook.
anyways, this is very formulaic, there’s no depth or dimensionality to any of the characters, it’s all plot and is so short things just kinda happen without a well deserved explanation

Firstly I was curious because of the title, so i picked this out then I fell in love with this book just after reading the first few lines and it turned out to be such a great and wonderful read.This book got me hooked right from start and you just can't stop reading it unless you have finished it.
This story was almost like watching a movie. Every scene was running inside my mind. The author's writing skill was the obvious reason behind this.Well written from start to end.This book is amazing and hard to believe the writing is excellent and plot will keep you absolutely hooked!!!
The author creating a suspenseful atmosphere throughout the novel. Mrs. Helen Mazer is found murdered and her husband, Craig Mazer, is arrested as the prime suspect because he has no alibi. Grant Dougan comes to Mr. Barsotti to investigate the case of his best friend, Craig Mazer, and get him out as quickly as he believes that Craig is innocent. Mr. Barsoti is a private investigator who is still grieving the death of his wife. To know what happened next. grab the book & give it a try.
While reading certain scenes in the story I actually felt like it was happening in reality. That is how the book deeply engages the readers. The author has a good storytelling style. However, it's the ending that was the most satisfying.
It's a thriller read which will keep you hooked till the end. A complete page turner from start to end! I am not an avid reader. Book was written in a very simple language and i just couldn’t keep it down. The story is thrilling with twists and turns in every chapter just keeping you wanting more.

Well damn, I didn't expect to be able to relate so strongly to a miserable, unhappily chaeacters which became a turner of the
Whole story. I'll tell you another funny fact: I never planned to stay in HPlandia for more than a few derisive laugh-inducing seconds. 🤡
Anyway, back to my favorite pastime: spilling tea, spoilers and shallow gossip.
All the delicious angst along with a fair amount of no less blessed groveling from the hero that had perpetuated this book culminated in the dramatic revelation of a simple fact:
the hero did not actually commit adultery (though some would say: hallo, bitch, emotional cheating still counts). 🤡
Did I enjoy the fact that author was being subjected to harsh treatment throughout the whole book and had to grovel hard to earn his audience ?
— Absolutely not. The word *enjoyed* is so irrelevant when I have another perfect verb to describe the bliss I experienced watching him suffer, beg and bulldoze —✨*savored*✨.

Crime thriller is my favourite genre in terms of reading.I love to read suspenseful story in which we have to guess for the ending.This is exactly what I want to read.This book takes readers on a journey of suspense,Thrill, mystery which keeps me hooked till the end.

The story's environment is well portrayed and has a satisfying climax and features well-written character struggles and dialogue.
It was like reading big Bollywood movies script which has emotions and uniqueness among the characters.The plot is crafted well and also fast pacing and engaging.The story build on the world is superb.I was beyond imagination.I was so thrilled and excited that I feel I am also part of the story. It simply awesome.

Angelo Barsotti and his best friend Lewis are tenacious and have unique resources between them for solving crimes.
Angelo’s heart isn’t in much since his wife was murdered. He’s been successfully completing investigations since elementary school, but is struggling with the one which would mean the most—his own wife’s murder. He’s reluctant to take on a new case, but Grant Dogon keeps coming back with a briefcase of cash. Dogon’s convinced the police have arrested the wrong guy for another murder.
While Angelo finally works the case like he does all the cases to which he commits, it soon becomes apparent that the guy with the money only wants one crime solved, and no more uncovered. Unfortunately for him, that’s not how Angelo and his crime-solving partner work.
Along the way, Angelo and Lewis are introduced to an attractive attorney who was also working for their client. It’s almost too much distraction when she leads Angelo to believe she may know more about his wife’s murder as well. But no one will know how that plays out until the next book in the Angelo Barsotti Novel series!
This engaging read offered quick chapters, fun and intelligent characters, and a mystery without an obvious solution. The ending could have gone a few different ways, any of which could have made sense. First of all, it is a fast read, got short chapters and no dull moment with this book. If you are on a reading slump, this is the book for you.
It is about a detective trying to solve the m*rder of his wife but then an ex-army tech tycoon approached him to solve the m*rder of his best friend’s wife, However, as the detective digs deeper to find the truth, he also begins to uncover lies upon lies.
The twist at the end shocked me at first because I had not predicted it. 🤯
