Who do you call when you wake up on the side of a mountain, in a hole that you dug yourself, completely naked? And you know… a newly revealed Omega.
There was only one choice. The only people I knew who wouldn’t ask too many questions. The Yale Triplets. They’d been my best friends when I was a kid, but they’d disappeared overnight when I was eighteen, and I hadn’t heard from them since. Not a text. Not a single like on my socials. Nothing.
But they were back in my hometown, and I was going to have to swallow my pride so they could rescue me. There was no one else. However, when they turn up, sexy blasts from my past, my relief turns to outrage when I realize they’re Alphas, and they’d never said a word.
As my Omega makes herself known, I oscillate wildly between wanting to punch them in the dick, and ride the aforementioned appendage into the sunset.
When I was nine, my grandmother and her friends used to read and swap Harlequin Mills and Boons novels. When I was busted reading one, they started sneaking me boxes full of strong heroines and rugged men. Thus started a long love affair with the romance genre. Then I discovered urban fantasy, and fell in love with broody Alphas and sexy paranormals, and combining them together was a no brainer. Then I discovered Reverse Harem.... Oh my. Why choose, am I right?
the Hs abandoned her without a word when they were younger, after years of them being best friends. one of them even slept with her before disappearing. then they meet again, and she forgives them soo easily. THEY even pushed HER away, kept their distance, and acted hot and cold, while she seemed like she was desperate to be with them. it really put me off. they should have groveled and begged for her – a rare omega they supposedly love – to give them a chance.

“I promise to worship you for hours later, baby. Days. Years, however long you’ll let me.”
4⭐️All I have to say is triplets. Triplets. TRIPLETS! That’s it. That’s my whole review and why you should read it! Nothing else matters.
This is a great novella in the omega lottery universe. Zaley is everything you want out of a feisty FMC, her dialogue and banter is on point. I would’ve liked this to be full length if anything but loved the short sharpness of the read.
Did I mention the triplets? Yeah well, twins are my thing but now I can add triple threat treats to the mix! Great quick read for Novella November.
Haha that was a great little short story. I love when the story is able to cover all the bases but not be 400 pages long to do it. It gave me the giggles and made me blush. Loved it.
This was a short, sweet, and very predictable omegaverse novella. I enjoyed it. The weird thing about it was that it started out with a bit of a mystery that was never solved. It was like a mysterious draw into the story at the beginning that had nothing to do with anything and wasn’t really mentioned again. That was so odd. But it didn’t bother me that much. I go into novellas not expecting much - and really not even expecting to like them, so I’m just happy I enjoyed this.
This was a short Lottery Novella that is a standalone. Zaley learns that she is an Omega and changes everything. With a long separation from the Yale brothers Will, Vic and Xander she finds they are the three she calls to help her.
Just the right amount of spice with plot. I always love McGinty Omega books.
4 stars - I really liked this! It was only 84 pages, so basically a super condensed omegaverse MFMM romance that hit all the right plot points. Sure, a few things were glossed over with limited word count, but I honestly didn’t mind because it was such a quick read.
This book hit me right in the feels, okay? My poor heart is still recovering. The whole situation was messy, angsty, and so addictive. Vic, Xander and Will...whew. 😮💨 They had a lot of explaining to do—and not nearly enough groveling, if you ask me. I wanted to shake them, hug them, and maybe throw a book at their heads. A wild, emotional ride I didn’t know I needed. Loved it. Also, this line? Pure gold: "I scrambled over to it on my hands and feet like Smeagol, raising it in the air as if it were the One Ring." I cackled! Would 100% let Grace McGinty ruin my peace again. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ HEA? yes 3rd act break-up? no 🌶🌶🌶/5
This is a pretty successful novella. But it leaves me feeling pretty bad for the FMC.
There’s just a lot about her life that kind of sucks. Like the fact that her foster parents didn’t bother to adopt her, despite the fact that it would cause citizenship issues for her. Or that her first family was going to traffic her. Or that her best friends abandoned her without a word. Or that she isn’t able to finish her degree or practice law like she dreamed. Or that she didn’t really want to come back to this small town.
At the end of the story, she’s happy because she’s an Omega… but when you really think about it, this isn’t really a happy ending for Zaley.
Forgettable, too short, conflicts set up but not resolved. Problematic.
Grace McGinty is a brilliant author and I was surprised at all of the unused potential in this story. She should have made it a full-length novel and showed us more instead of telling us almost everything.
The only way we know the difference between the MMCs is that she tells us that Will is the golden retriever, Xander is the one who doesn't like anyone, and Victor is the one who experimented with punk. We get told the childhood memories instead of giving us flashbacks of action.
The FMC wakes up hours away from her home - in Canada even and not the US where she's attending law school - naked with no memory of how she got there. That was never explained. Was it a byproduct of transitioning into an Omega?
The MMCs are brothers she was in love with and were her best friends for her entire childhood, and they loved her too. Except they just disappeared one day, with no word to her and no contact after that, for four years. Does she make them grovel? No. A brief (as in one sentence) explanation that they ran because their Alphas wanted them to make her theirs and to mate her and they didn't want to take away her choice. Oh, thanks for deciding her future for her without her input.
Then they return to her home town (she's away to law school) and buy the local bar and fix it up. They have clearly been there a while because the renovations are complete and the bar is open. Were they ever going to approach her again? Email her? See if she was still interested in them? They were still in love with her, so were they celibate for those four years? Or were they just going to pine after her forever, secure in their manly knowledge that they had "set her free" to explore her life?
And, what is the purpose of the feral cat who adopted her in her digout at the book opening? I thought it was going to be an animal bond but it just seems there.
And what is she going to do with her career? In the very beginning as she realizes she's become an Omega she states that Omegas and Alphas aren't allowed to be police or lawyers. So what's her backup plan? We never know.
As I said - there is a lot of potential here that if fleshed out could make a really solid full-length novel. If you want a short story (it's not even 100 pages) with a little sexual tension and one sex scene, this is your tale. It's disappointing because McGinty is usually an author that is an automatic read, and she is really good, so I expected more from this even knowing it was a short story / novella.
This little novella is 🔥🔥!! I loved everything about it!!!
We meet Zaley right away. Waking up naked, with some serious questionable vibes knowing that her entire life has changed and having literally almost no one to call. She decides the men from her past are her only option.
When Zander, Victor and Will show up, a blast from her past, she quickly discovers, she’s not the only one who has designated and all pheromones break loose! She is thrusted back into her past, but now everyone is an adult and she’d very much like nothing more then to do adult things! 😉
When the guys are respectful and try to help Zaley finish up her dream, she is quickly put into a compromising position where she needs their help once again. Will Zaley be able to forgive the guys for abandoning her when she needed them most? Will this new designation of hers change everything? What will happen if the guys reject her, yet again?
I loved this short story. It was funny, it was sexy and I definitely couldn’t put it down and read it all in one session. I loved all the characters and everything about it. Definitely a great, short, sexy, must read!!
”…I’d almost told him to pull over at least six times so we could do it on the hood of his car. But my vagina was feeling like a UFC fighter after going ten rounds, so I resisted.”
*Overall 5/5 *Heat? 5/5 *Med/Fast Burn *First person POV (Zaley only) *MFMM Romance *Brothers (Triplets🥵) *Ends on HFN
I liked the second chance element of this book, but was hoping for a little more spice. For a novella, the self-control of all the characters got on my nerves. Just do it already!
Zaley wakes up naked in the forest to the realization that she is an Omega. She calls the only people she can think of that will help her. They are all then forced to deal with their hidden attractions and Zaley's new Omega designation.
The FMC & MMCs had all been best friends in high school. The triplet brothers had always looked out for Zaley and loved her - at first like a friend, and then as more, but they didn't know they were Alphas. Once they found out, they had to leave their nearly-all Beta town. Their reasoning sort makes sense in an 18-year old male brain way, but it isn't very satisfying since Zaley was so hurt by their actions.
Zaley is independent, smart, strong, and takes no bullsh*t. I liked that she didn't immediately forgive them. I'm not sure that triplets would have such disparate personalities IRL, but an RH books kinda needs that so I'll accept the artistic license.
Not gonna lie, I'm skeptical whenever I start such a short book, the few shorter books I've read (from other authors) fell really short on plot and/or spice. I've heard great things about this author though, so I decided to give it a chance and I loved it! Last Chance Omega struck a nice balance between plot, character dev, and heat. The opening had me laughing out loud at Zaley's internal monologue and the dynamic between the MCs was believable if bittersweet, given their backstory. The feelings and budding relationship were so sweet. I thoroughly enjoyed this little story and was sorry to see it end. It is perfect in its own right, but could also be a good 'palate' cleanser if a super dark novel left you feeling dismal/despair-y. I'm looking forward to reading the other books set in this series!
Went into this thinking it was a novel, so I was surprised at how few pages there were. Didn’t expect it to be a novella. It was definitely a quick read. I’m not quite sure what to think because I wanted a lot more to happen, but since it’s a novella, that’s understandably unlikely—so I can’t really place my thoughts. I do wish there had been more groveling on their part, though, and Zaley felt a little too quick to forgive and welcome them back with open arms despite everything in their past. Then again, being a novella, I get the need to move things along faster. All things considered, it was still a nice read, but I think I would’ve enjoyed it more as a full novel, given the promising premise. 2.5 ⭐
I patted his hand and tried to school my expression, so he didn’t realize being hefted around by a strong man was definitely one of my kinks. (girl me too 🤣)
Okay, don't get me wrong, I've been absolutely crying out for another Lottery book since Tryst in the Dark, which is likely my favorite omegaverse novel. So when I saw this book had been released I bought it without even seeing it was a novella. (I didn't even realize it was a novella until the end).
And then I was CRUSHED. I could see an entire story that could've unfolded from what this novella offered us, and I was so disappointed we didn't get that...because the omega lottery concept was totally an idea so ripe for so many tropes and feelings and types of characters!
So I guess this review is more of a plea for MORE OMEGA LOTTERY BOOKS and less of a thorough review of this novella. Because a crudite is nice, but a meal is so much more filling. Am I right?
Quick (Temporary?) Review: This was a good read for it being a novella (I’m referring to the quality content challenges that books with shorter lengths face).
Rating- 3 Heat-4 Tropes- omegaverse, MFMM, second chance romance, small town
This is a short novella that is pretty good but the point of it is confusing. It takes place in McGinty’s dystopian omegaverse series, Omega Lottery, but it doesn’t successfully set up that world. It comes across more as a small town, second chance romance story that is forced into a series it doesn’t belong in. Zaley’s story of becoming an omega and reuniting with the childhood friends she had been in love with could have stood on its own. Instead we get glimpses of the Omega Lottery world from outside of it without that setting every really affecting the story.
Taken on its own, it’s a sweet and quick romance worth reading. Just don’t read it as if it is a prequel to the Omega Lottery series.
Hmm...don't really think the relationships in this one were well thought out. One of the guys takes her virginity and then all three disappear, not answering her calls or responding to messages for years...until she calls them for help 5 years later after discovering she's an omega.
She's not mad about it, and they don't really seem all that sorry for abandoning her (she was a foster kid, and suffered a lot of abandonment in her youth so it's doubly tragic) but it rubbed me the wrong way.
I had a hard time buying into the romance with them after that.

Kind of wish it was longer because there was not enough grovel and development in their relationship.
However, reading this after Tryst in the Dark, G.M. seems to put out heavy issues in the omegaverse, specifically the unfair treatment among Omegas but never really resolve them. In this one, I do understand since it is only a novella, but it kind of sucks that Zaley didn’t get to achieve her dreams and it seemed like she just settled. I mean she still has bucket loads of student loan.
Book one picks up with the FMC in a self dug hole in the ground and a new Omega. The problem with this is that omegas have no rights in the US and is raffled off in some kind of lottery, with no opinions from the omega being given. At first I was like no way! The US would never do something like that, to take female rights away. Then I remember the RoeVWade stuff and change my mind. With the wrong ppl in office and the right circumstance this would happen. I was so glad that this had such a nice HEA! I would rec to anyone who likes omegaverse no-shifter books.
I love the Omega Lottery novel, so I was happy to discover a novella I had missed. Zaley and her triplets have such a sweet story. They were best friends as children until the triplets left town one day with no warning.
When she found herself stranded, she called the only person she could think of to come and get her. Their whirlwind journey to HEA hit all the right notes for me.
If you like sweet omegaverse, but also like your fmc’s with spine, and all the possessive alpha goodness, give this story a read.
This is a quick easy read! I loved the chemistry between Za and the triplets!
Za is feisty and strong, I love her! The banter in this novella is top tier! The humour in this, I was laughing throughout the book.
It is a sweet, second chance, childhood friends to lovers/ bond mates. I’m not normally a fan of the friends to lovers type tropes but I did really enjoy this!
I also loved the f u to the DoDA at the end, it made me very happy 🤣
Just a quick novella based in a previously created Omegaverse world by Grace McGinty. Zaley and her Alphas (triplets!!!) are amazing! The Yale boys and Zaley grew up as best friends, until one day they disappeared without a word. Years later, Zaley presents as an Omega and finds herself in a dark hole, literally. This was so cute and sweet. Would love more in this world. 💜
What do you do when you wake up naked in a hole in the mountains? You call the only people you trust even though they ghosted you years before. Turns out they had their reasons and their reasons were so you could grow to be your own person.
This was funny and sweet. The attraction was there and you could feel the tension. I don’t know how Grave did it with such a short book but it was perfect.
Really funny writing at times but idk about the characters…
The excuse for the three boys (who were basically her chosen family/entire support group) leaving in the past with no context and zero contact wasn’t good enough for me…
Nothing was fleshed out enough (why she blacked out and ran and dug herself into a hole??, the college/lawyer exam plot, the cat??)
Peppered with McGinty’s signature humour, this is a great little Omega romp in the backwoods of Canada. Ze has unexpectedly revealed as an Omega, finding herself in a weird place and the only solution is dialing some old friends for help. This is a rh, non shifter omegaverse with lots of heart and great steam
This was the perfect short and spicy omega book, so much so, I want more! This Omegaverse is about childhood friends who reconnect as young adults when 3 brothers turn out to be Alphas and the lone girl in the group turns out to be an omega.
Great story and spice. I highly recommend if you’re looking for something short and sweet!
