Al igual que el primero de la serie, me ha parecido muy entretenido. El detective Katayama y su gata Holmes son una pareja entrañable y ahora se suma Harumi, la hermana del detective, que en esta segunda entrega tiene mucho mucho más protagonismo y que se ha convertido en mi personaje favorito. Como la vez anterior espero con ganas el próximo libro, que espero y deseo que la editorial continúe publicando.

I think that there is not a best way to celebrate Saint Valentin that I write a review in this case about a novel that I read in the of December. the old man in the corner was created by the baroness Orczy) Chemist (Sherlock Holmes it is unnecessary to say the author) journalist (Rouletabille was created by Gaston Leroux), paranormal detectives (Flaxman Low, and Odd Thomas were created by Kate O`Brien&Hesketh Pritchall, and Dean Koontz) Prince (Zaleski was created by M.P. I`ve seen things you would never believe, but I`ve have never seen detectives’ cats. However, “The cat`s mansion: A mystery of the cat Holmes” likes me more than the first novel “The mystery of the cat Holmes”.
This book keep the ingredients of the previous book, a lot of humor. I have not read a humor detective novel since I heard to speak about “The last Trent`s case” was written by E.C. Bentley, and the stories of the nondescript Gervase Fen overall “The moving toyshop”, in this list we can include the stories of the nice catholic priest Ronald Knox.
Big part of the humor cocktail is thanked to the combination of a clumsy detective; besides he is not very manly Katayama, he is nicknamed by his copmates with the nickname of little princess. He has authentic fear to the blood, and he has a nice calico cat. To this conjunction or pandemonium, we must include the other detective Ishidzu, who appear in the second novel, who is fallen in love of the Katayama`s sister (Harumi). He is the buddy of Katayama. Although he looks more competent, and professional than Katayama like a good manga`s character (this is a novel) he has an odd phobia. He can`t stand the cats. Another handicap to the cat Holmes. Besides we have Harumi the sister of Katayama another amateur detective.
To the menu was more delicious we have a devil plot, how Jiro Akagawa purposes to the readers is based in the Japanese folklore. He used the presences of Bekenekos a ghost cat, which reclaim a revenge for the murder of her owner, she was murdered for deny selling his flat to the real estate company. This made like in the best G.K. Chesterton`s short story, or the novels of S.S. Van Dine, or Natsuhiko Kyogoku “The summer of the Ubume” (it was also published by Quaterni) it looks has a supernatural plot, but after like a good detection novel has a rational explanation.
Other strong point of the novel a part of the surrealistic dialogues, which offer confuse situations, is the structure of the novel. Every part close in false the case. I have not seen anything similar, only I can compare this structure with in my opinion best Dashiell Hammet`s novel “The Dain Curse”.
This thing added it an interest to the novel. And this thing allow that the plot of the novel did not decline.
The main characters of this story concluded to steal the heart of the readers, though Katayama was a detective with defaults. I agree with her sisters he inherited the detection in the blood. But his capacity is minuscule if we compare with here master the cat Holmes. Other success of the novel is that I could not guess who was the murderer of the novel until his discovering. The supernatural plot is believable, besides the neurosis of the town.
We speak briefly about the mistakes. We have not an explanation that why one of the characters escaped of the hospital, and she behaved like a cat. Other wrong like in his previous novel there are a lot of corpses. One of the possible reasons, maybe the limitation to the cat Holmes, despite the intelligence she being an animal and the men languages is not allowed. Katayama and Ishidzu are not assisted, and the reader has this impression.
I have a theory except in case that the detective incorporates to the investigation late, or the criminal was a serial killer, who kills without following a method. I have the idea that if there are more than four murders the detective is an authentic useless. We must avoid the case of Jardiel Poncela (in this case the idea is make laugh to the reader he can be forgiven), and S.S. Van Dine, where at finally only remains the murderer and the detective, and then he discovers who is the murderer.
Despite this small mistakes we find in a sublime novel, with a exciting beginning in a train Kyushu to Tokyo and the amuse ending suitable with the register of the novel.
I cheer up to the readers who get fond to the lovely cat, who enter my articular feline pantheon with Doraemon, and the Natsume Soseki`s cat (in the case of Natsume Soseki I do not like his novel ).
To conclude I must say congratulations to the publishing Quaterni, not only for the cat Holmes, but also for the unpaid service to the detection novel`s fans. They have discovered jewels like Nakamura Fuminori, Okamato Kido, Natsuhiko Kyogoku, Go Osaka, Edogawa Rampo, Byomkesh Bakshi (although he was from India ), Seishi Yokomizo they have rescued a classic like Van Gulik the creator of the Judge Ti, however for me the best is Miyuki Miyabe. To this name, although it had not been discovered by Quaterni we should add it the names of Keigo Higashino, and Natsuo Kirino.
I have the impression, that if the Asian detection novels had the broadcast, and the mass media overall the Japanese detection novels. They will finish with the prestige of Norse boom, and the south American magic realism. The throne of the detection novel is empty and the novels of Japan are worth to seat in this position. I wish that Quaterni continue bringing treasures of the sun rising country, until the stars fell of the sky Aslan dixit.

El caso está interesante, tiene suficientes sospechosos y red herrings.
Aparte por lo de los gatos, agarra como un mito japones del Bakeneko, gatos que se convierte en personas, y juaga con si cierto personaje pudiera ser.

This could have been much more fun to read, but the constant sexist jokes really ruin it for me. It's an old book, and many parts really show, so I guess that can't be helped. Although, even without that I find it to be lackluster in term of how the mysteries are represented and how they are solved. It was still fun to read though. If you like cats you probably like the series.

Al inicio tuve un poco de conflicto con la traducción porque no lo sentia tanto en contexto japonés, después perdió notoriedad ese detalle y me involucre con la historia.
Me encanta porque sigue ilustrando como es la vida en Japón.
El misterio también me agrada y la participación " sutil" pero importante de "Holmes".
Me gusta que se tratan temas distintos, místicos y culturales en torno a los felinos.
Es el tipo de libro que recomiendo para una tarde en casa o en un café, quiero seguir leyendo la aventuras de la intrépida detective:D

Rarísimo, un misterio que, en mi opinión, tiene demasiados muertos! Pero terminó siendo una historia interesante. Muchos gatos, no muy predecible, y con cierta gracia.

La mansión de los gatos de Jirō Akagawa es el segundo volumen de la saga protagonizada por la gata Holmes.
El detective Katayama viaja junto a su hermana Harumi a una pequeña ciudad residencial a las afueras de Tokyo para conocer el nuevo apartamento de su colega Ishidzu, un policía que quiere casarse con Harumi.
Cuando la dueña de unos terrenos cercanos a la vivienda de Ishidzu aparece brutalmente asesinada junto a varios de sus gatos, los dos policías se ven envueltos en una complicada investigación, ya que aparecen más cadáveres y parece ser que están siendo cometidos por bakeneko, gatos fantasmas capaces de tomar forma humana...
Katayama e Ishidzu forman un dúo de investigadores bastante particular. El primero con fobia a la sangre y el segundo con fobia a los gatos. Ambas peculiaridades dan lugar a situaciones muy curiosas y divertidas a lo largo de toda la historia. Especialmente teniendo en cuenta que los crímenes a los que se enfrentan son bastante sanguinolentos y que la sagaz gata Holmes forma parte del peculiar equipo de investigación al que también se une Harumi.
¿Qué decir de la gata Holmes? Una sagaz felina gracias a la cual nuestros protagonistas encuentran pistas claves para resolver la complicada investigación. Y con mucho carácter, como todo buen gato.
Un libro que me ha sorprendido mucho. Por la cuidada ambientación, por las pinceladas de la cultura japonesa que podemos encontrar a lo largo de toda la historia, por lo buena que es la trama policíaca (hasta el final no he sabido quién era el asesino) y por el humor que salpica todo el libro.
Si os gusta el thriller y os apetece leer algo diferente, alejando de los “cánones” de la literatura policíaca, no os perdáis este libro.

De los tres libros este fue el que más me ha gustado. Aunque no es una joya en la investigación y la resolución de los hechos fue muy apresurado (aunque menos que enos otros dos), me encantó la atmósfera de miedo que el autor añadió en este volumen.
El misterio es más complicado que el de los otros libros, fue complicado hacerse una idea de los culpables (menos uno de ellos), los hechos eran cada vez más confusos y parecía que todo estaba desordenado y sin un final. Me gustó ese misterio que, en este libro, el autor logró escribir y que le faltó en los anteriores.
Por otro lado me gustó todo el folklore japonés sobre leyendas urbanas de terror y la alusión de gatos poseídos, fantasmas o vengativos. Todos los escenarios donde los gatos eran los protagonistas me gustaron mucho y que atemorizaran a las personas con sus mauillidos, fue excepcional.
Me encantó la participación de Holmes en este caso, ya que siento que en el anterior estuvo de sobra, pero en este y, al estar rodeada de los de su misma especie, logró hacer un equipo interesante que me agradó bastante.
Aunque sentí que la explicación de los responsables llegó apresurado, no lo fue tanto como en sus otras entregas. En esta historia les dio más tiempo, les dio más suspenso y, por supuesto, sembró dudas sobre espíritus gatunos en el lector.
Si el autor tiene más libros de esta serie, espero que siga mejorando cada vez más en su narración. Tiene mucho potencial.
De los tres libros este fue el que más me ha gustado. Aunque no es una joya en la investigación y la resolución de los hechos fue muy apresurado (aunque menos que enos otros dos), me encantó la atmósfera de miedo que el autor añadió en este volumen.
El misterio es más complicado que el de los otros libros, fue complicado hacerse una idea de los culpables (menos uno de ellos), los hechos eran cada vez más confusos y parecía que todo estaba desordenado y sin un final. Me gustó ese misterio que, en este libro, el autor logró escribir y que le faltó en los anteriores.

Una lectura muy divertida combinado con misterio.
Aunque se me complico leerlo con su traducción española. Pero de ahí en adelante fue interesante e entretenido, el MC y los compañeros de MC los sentí tan lindos, mas el tipo gigante que le tiene miedo a los gatos, ese hombre no le tiene miedo al peligro andante que esta a su lado, se supone que tiene que ganarse al cuñado, no hacer que lo quiera matar 😂
También me había encariñado con la "pareja", tremendo golpe que me dio al leer que al final ella desapareció y el MC ahí todo perro mojado, con un montón de gatos al cual cuidar <( _ _ )>
¿Me leeré los demás libros? Claro que si
¿Tengo dinero para eso? Por supuesto que no, pero tengo dos riñones \(￣︶￣*\))

Disfruté este mucho más que el anterior, pero...
... en definitiva se siente que falta algo entre los dos libros. En la misma introducción, la editorial reconoce que éste es el 3r libro de la saga, y se explica de forma atropellada la aparición de un personaje en el 2o libro que será prominente en este 3o que se está empezando. Luego nos damos cuenta que es más de un personaje.
No solo esto, se puede notar que el detective Katayama ha cambiado como profesional de manera drástica y que su hermana ha pasado por alguna otra experiencia fuerte además de lo sucedido en el 1r libro, por lo que se siente aún más la ausencia del 2o.
Muy mal por parte de EDITORIAL al no publicar de manera adecuada una saga de libros.

A pesar de tener millones de fallos estructurales, de sacarse de la manga la resolución de los casos y de exponer argumentaciones inverosímiles, la mezcla de humor y de intriga de estas novelas hacen que vuelvas a ellas con cada nueva entrega.
Los amantes de los buenos casos policiales sin recovecos: abstenerse. Pero si decidís leerla con la mente abierta y con la intención de pasar un buen rato, esta es vuestra novela.
Quizá su mayor contra sea la edición de Quaterni. A pesar de su exterior atractivo el texto deja mucho que desear: más de 30 erratas he encontrado entre letras ausentes, fallos tipográficos y ausencia de tildes. Un verdadero despropósito.

Es curioso cómo el autor combina el misterio y lo truculento con el humor negro y los comentarios satíricos críticos con la sociedad japonesa del momento, haciendo un retrato particular de los personajes que pasan por la novela, y cómo trata al protagonista. Muy entretenido y con gatetes, no pedía nada más.

Muy entretenido, pero también muy japonés, por lo que no sé si será para todos los gustos. A mí se me hace muy simpático, la trama me ha parecido interesante y bien llevada. Hay muchísimos diálogos, lo que la hace muy ágil y fácil de seguir. Los personajes me hacen gracia y en más de una ocasión me he visto leyendo con una sonrisa. Perfecta para leer después de otros libros más durillos.

Una novela súper liviana, la traducción es impecable, si bien es de misterio yo diría que lo que impera en el estilo del autor es el humor y la comedia de las equivocaciones aunque efectivamente también la historia central tiene todos los elementos clásicos de la novela negra.
Vale la pena para quienes desean lecturas entretenidas con historias bien escritas y tramas más livianas.

Lectura fácil, rápida y muy entretenida. Me ha gustado más que el primero de la serie, lo he encontrado más dinámico y divertido; el personaje de Ishidzu da mucho juego y se complementa muy bien con el de Katayama.

Tiene gatos, ya es un win... Ahora la de collejas que me hubiera gustado dar a dos de los personajes principales, solo se salvan Holmes, Harumi y Koto.

Continúa la fórmula del primer libro, y quién disfrutó con ella con este libro también lo hará.
Me sigue resultando curioso como el autor es capaz de ir relatando una historia que hasta cierto punto puede parecer "inocente" y de golpe dar un giro o introducir algún factor que te hace recordar lo terrible que pueden llegar a ser las personas, rompiendo los esquemas que te podías ir haciendo mentalmente.
Va hilando varias tramas hasta el final, donde nos deja pequeñas pistas para que el lector pueda elaborar sus propias teorías, que en general son erróneas (o como mínimo en mi caso), para sorprendernos con la resolución del caso.
Lo que no acabo de entender muy bien es idea de la editorial de saltar la publicación del segundo libro para traer este tercero. Como la propia editorial dice, no afecta a la propia historia del libro pero quizá si que tengo la sensación que los personajes han tenido cierta evolución y encuentro un vacío. Pero es un mal menor.

มันเป็นหนังสืออ่านนอกเวลาจริงๆ อ่ะ สนุกนะ มันน่าติดตามในสไตล์นิยายสอบสวนเลย ทำให้อยากรู้ได้ทุกตอนว่าใครคือคนร้ายและฆ่าคนตายได้ยังไง
เล่มนี้ตัวละครเยอะมากเหมือนเดิม แต่ไม่ใช่ทุกคนมาแล้วตายหมดเหมือนตอนที่แล้ว ชอบตอนสองมากกว่าตอนสาม เพราะตอนสามตำรวจเดินทางไกล รู้สึกว่าเหนื่อยแทน และเราไม่เก็ตการฆ่ากันเพราะเจ้าของที่ไม่ยอมขายที่ ก็มันที่เค้า! อันนี้ไม่ได้สปอยล์นะ

This was one of the most interesting books I have ever read. It has mystery and suspense. Though some of the scenes were a bit gruesome, I think the story was well written. I would never have expected some of the things that happened in the book. It was very interesting.

Kisah penyiasatan yang sangat menarik.. Kemalangan-kemalangan kecil yang tidak membahayakan, pembunuhan manusia dan juga kucing.. Kucing berwana merah dan juga peristiwa-peristiwa pelik.. Dibantu oleh kucing yang bijak.. Memang seronok..
