The Worths of Red Ridge #1

Carrying the Rancher's Heir

The passionate, impulsive evening Tagg Worth had spent in the arms of brown-eyed beauty Callie Sullivan was madness. Visions of their tryst still haunted him, but their one-night stand was a mistake the wealthy rancher swore he would not repeat. Hawk Sullivan's daughter was strictly off-limits—especially since Hawk's main goal in life was to put Tagg out of business.

Then, suddenly, there was a baby on the way. His baby. Tagg vowed to do the right thing, no matter what it cost him. But his inconvenient new bride tempted his solitary heart down a path a Worth didn't dare follow….

Hero proposes marriage to the daughter of his business enemy for the sake of their unborn baby. His pregnant wife died in a plane crash so he is a lonely soul. He also has many trust issues but Callie with her love and patience wins his heart. I was sad for her because she was torn between her love for her father and her love for her husband. Very sweet and emotional love story. All it needed was an epilogue! I want to know if they had a boy or a girl! :(

The hero Tagg and the heroine Callie spent an unforgettable night together a few weeks back, that in Tagg's opinion should never have happened. Callie is the daughter of his family's biggest rival, and they could never be together - for that reason and the fact that Tagg will never love another woman, after his late wife died. Although he has tried to forget her he has found it difficult and it gets even more difficult when Callie begins working at his family's ranch. Callie has always been a little bit in love with Tagg, but her father's over-protectiveness and plain dislike for Tagg and his family has always stopped her from approaching. Her one wild night with Tagg has left her pregnant and she decides to go after what she wants - her, Tagg, and their baby as a family. Tagg can't deny his fierce desire for Callie and they soon reignite their affair. But when Tagg finds out about the baby he insists they marry but makes it clear that he will never give Callie his heart.

I enjoyed this book, there is plenty of chemistry between the hero and heroine, as well as an interesting, well written story. The hero's grief for his late wife is very poignant and handled well, but I do feel that he hadn't fully gotten over it and this took a little bit of shine away from the central relationship. The heroine is a nice character; very gentle and reasonable.
I loved the setting, it is very vividly described and I felt a real sense of place.

This is a nice story.

I have to admit that this is a well written story of a love that grows slowly on the H’s side. On the h’s side, we know she has been attracted to the H for years. But I can only give it two stars because I don’t find this a very romantic story. Although at the end the author tells us the H was against falling in love or loving any woman because of his disappointment at his first marriage experience, the truth is that he simply has sex with the heroine in a one-night stand because he needs it as a release. Afterwards, he pays no real attention to the heroine, although their night together was wonderful. He only changes his mind when he learns that the h is pregnant with his child.
Well from there, the relationship develops rather well but we must take into account that the h is at hand, etc. And in spite of the mistrust he feels, they slowly make it work together, but I find this not romantic, but rather adapting oneself to the circumstancies and learning to appreciate the other, not a deep passion, in spite of their passionate sex together.

This book has one of my favorite themes involved. Secret Pregnancy/baby. There's also a generational feud involved.

This was good. It does leave off with an unresolved issue, but I'm sure it will be in the other books in this series.

Tagg is a widow and doing a business deal in Reno. Callie is there visiting cousins, and sees him alone in the bar and decides that, since she has had a crush on him for a long time, wants to try to make him happy that night. Things happen, he says it was a mistake, and the next thing you know, she's pregnant. Her father, an overbearing ass, decides to try to buy him off to stay away from the baby. It doesn't work, and they get married. Her father keeps undermining all Tagg's business deals as well, and has no idea why her father hates his family so much. It has been going on for decades.

This was an emotional story that pulled at my heart strings. Callie Halk had grown up knowing that any of the worth family was off limits. The two families were enemies, and rivals. One night after she had come home from Boston she met Tagg Worth in a bar, and one thing led to another. Callie found out she, and Tagg conceived a baby that night. Tagg was the one man Callie had always fantasized about. She waits to tell him, hoping she can build a relationship with him. She would never want anyone to feel trapped. Well… He finds out against her wishes. They do get married, and they both try to make it work. At times Callie feels she is doing all the work. She wonders if her love alone will be enough to hold them together. This was a sweet book. I do wished it had one more chapter. I would have liked to see Callie’s father make amends with the Worth family for Callie’s sake. I also would have like to see Tagg really love his wife. Yes he did proclaim his love at the end, but it would have been nice to see his actions. All in all a good book!

Callie's father Hawk, hates the Worth's family. Callie and Tagg spent the one night in reno together and Callie was pregnant. Tagg married Callie but doesn't trust her and things get confusing but finally Tagg agrees that love is more important

Really nice read but some just an underlying sense of events that showed a weak nexus. Thankfully, the secondary characters were able to add some of the missing links.

I loved the romance between Tag and Callie Worth. What started out as a marriage of convenience with explosive chemistry turned into something deeper and incredible. Taggert Worth was sex on a stick and definitely hesitant to get involved with the daughter of his business rival. Fate would have their way and Callie and Tag would marry for the sake of their baby. Slowly Callie inched her way in Tag's heart but he fought every step of the way. I loved Tag's brothers Clay and Jackson who are just as yummy as Tag and very supportive brothers. The Worth family are definitely worth the read! I am going to read Clay's story and Jackson's too. Enjoy!

This was a nice little quick read. Rich widowed rancher. The daughter of his biggest competitor.
She finds him in a honky tonk in Reno drowning his trouble She's had a big fight with her controlling father who hates Taggart Worth so she seduced him with very little effort and they spent the night together and rest is pretty standard They marry because he wants to do the right thing. She loves him but he has terrible guilt for the way his first wife died. I enjoyed the story and it was fun to read.

The book was great at first i though Tagg was such a jerk. Then he stopped being a jerk and realized he loved her no matter she was the enemy's daughter. I loved Callie she was a total sweet heart.

Wow, I read this for a joke and it was literally a joke. The sex wasn't even remotely interesting and Tagg was just an asshole. Probably the first and last Harlequin novel I will ever read
