A light-hearted fun read. This book will make you happy no matter what. It's a story about following your heart. Chloe Rogers is set to marry a hard-working, handsome banker. He's smart, a go-getter, and will provide her a comfortable lifestyle. But she cannot forget her first love, Josh Goldman, who returns to town to open a surf shop.

Meanwhile Chloe finds a set of old love letters written to her bossy, control-freak mother. Chloe investigates and finds the man her mother jilted 40 years ago. While meddling with her mother's happiness, Chloe is torn between her fiance, the rational choice, and Josh, the man who speaks to her heart.

I enjoyed this book because it was an easy read, not filled with angst, and had a lot of humorous moments. Even though the ending was easy to foretell, it was still fun to follow the characters through their ups and downs while getting a flavor of all that good food. The minor characters were delightful, as was the sparring between Chloe's mother and her fiance's mother, all while her fiance's father asks for another piece of pie.

Josh was such a sweet and loving man, I knew he would sweep Chloe off her feet. The only person I was annoyed with was Chloe. Girl can't seem to make up her mind! I wished someone would slap her, but everyone knew she had to make her own decision. Even her best friend and mother stepped back and let her find her own feelings. There were a lot of sweet moments and I recommend this book to anyone who wants a cheerful read. I loved how many slices of chocolate cake with fudge cream they had. All the food was deliciously described as well as the fun surfing lesson and the lovely wedding details.

So, if other books have you depressed or mad at the world, read this one to lift your spirits and leave you warm and fuzzy. True love is worth waiting for, and there are fairy tale endings!

If you want a contemporary adult romance, light and easy to read, with a happy ending, then look no further, for this is a fine example, from an author who is new to the genre.

As the plot begins to unfold, the outcome is all but inevitable, but the journey to get there is full of romance, heartbreak, whimsy and a little humour.

It is a story of second chances; about the rekindling, repairing and ending of relationships; but ultimately, of following your heart.

At the start, we see Chloe as a very confused young woman. The calming influence and unconditional love of her father, during her formative teenage years, has been cruelly curtailed by death, leaving Chloe in the clutches of her possessive, domineering and over-bearing mother, until the situation has become just too much for her to bear and now they are estranged.

Chloe now seeks some renewed security and stability, but is beginning to realise that her life may be running in parallel with that of her mother, and that she may be making the unthinkable mistake of swapping her possessive mother, for an equally controlling husband.

The confusion of Chloe's own feelings, is only further tested, when documents are revealed, showing that her mother had chosen security in her own marriage, to the detriment of her true feelings, thus making her the bitter, resentful and unhappy person that she had become.

Chloe now starts to `come of age', as she considers not only her own future, but that of her mother. With heightened perception, she realises the sacrifices and heartbreak that her mother has endured, in order to give her a stable upbringing and she resolves to heal the rift with her mother, by working to give her a second chance at happiness, but should she follow a similar course with her own life and allow her heart to rule her head, in the pursuit of true love and lasting happiness?

The transformation in her mother, with her new found love and happiness, is amazing and Chloe now realises that it is time to make a similar decision of her own, before it is to late ......

A fantastic debut novel, full of characters who are nurtured and changed throughout the emerging storyline, written with great perception and a little humour.

An author we are sure to hear lots more of in the future, Geraldine is already working on her next novel in the genre, `Chocolicious', the title alone is sure to make this a popular choice for all you romantics out there.

Chloe is set to marry Richard, but her former boyfriend, Josh, moves back into town and throws a kink into Chloe's plans. She realizes that she still has feelings for Josh, and is torn between the two men she loves.

Richard is self-involved, money-oriented, and not very kind or supportive to Chloe. He really irritated me because he treated Chloe so poorly at times. Josh is free-spririted, and he encourages Chloe to follow her dreams and passions. The two men are like night and day.

This story became even more interesting as Chloe worked through her feelings towards Richard and Josh, and figured out whether it was better to follow her head or her heart when it came to love. There were several difficult situations that occured in the book, and I could sympathize and feel the emotions of each character.

I also really enjoyed the search for Suzanne's(Chloe's mother) long lost love. I liked how that ended up. I won't go into that any further because I don't want to spoil it!

One thing that irritated me was that I thought the story would have made a bit more sense if the main characters were a bit older. I think the emotional connection between Chloe and Josh would have been more realistic if they had dated in their later teen years and reunited in their later twenties.

That being said, I thought Love Letters was very enjoyable, and a sweet romance story. I am going to pass on my copy to my mom and sister who I know will love to read it too!

I had the pleasure of corresponding with Ms. Solon, and found her to be just as charming as her characters. Love Letters is truly a story of second chances. Love lingers on every page. The story is sweet and realistic--I could see the characters playing out before me as I read. This is a book for anyone who feels love in the blood that rushes through them with every fiber of their being. Anyone who has thought about their first love and wondered, "What if". If you're ready for an easy read that will carry you from one page to the next, rooting for love to win, then this is your book.

This is a good story. It includes lost first-loves and second chances. I had a clear picture of each of the characters and felt that the author crafted them well. The novel has everything it needs; a strained mother/daughter relationship, a crazed, jilted lover, a wedding, and a sweet, little dog named Greta.

The story was fun. The author could have chosen different endings for this story. I like the one she chose to write. True love's power should never be underestimated.

I loved this book. It was so hard to put down. I read it in a day.

I loved how the writing style was easy to read and you got hooked from page 1.

I really felt for Chloe. She had to chose between 2 loves. Not everyone has that chance with their first love again.

I found myself wanting to yell a few times about the character Richard and the things he does.

I highly recommend it.

Chloe Rogers is getting ready to marry Richard in a few months. He might be a workaholic and always on his phone, but he's steady and secure. Everything is going okay until Chloe's first love Josh moves back to town. Now she's not sure if she should follow her heart, or her head. Things become even more complicated when she finds a set of love letters written to her mom that seem to indicate she chose her head over her heart. What is Chloe to do?

This is a romance novel in the true sense of the word. Sweet, romantic and like a fairy tale. Which seems to fit, since people keep telling Chloe she acts like she lives in a fairy tale.

I found myself emotionally involved in the story, at times wanting to shake Chloe and tell her to open her eyes. Without giving away the story, it's hard to explain all the reasons. But I will say that Richard is not a good guy. He may have a steady income and is good looking, but he's a jerk. An emotionally abusive, controlling jerk. My absolute dislike for him really reflects the great job the author did in bringing the characters to life.

Chloe is not the typical strong, independent heroine. She has a lot of self doubts, and lets herself be controlled and swept up by Richard. Having known people in those types of relationships, I think the author really hit her behaviour on the nail. And the behaviour of everyone who surrounds her. They tell her like it is, and then step back and support her decisions. Even when they disagree. Which is the way you want your support system to behave in real life.

Trying to find something to criticise, I had a hard time because I really enjoyed the story. I did find it a bit odd that Nicole's outfit was always described in detail. It didn't really fit with anything, and just seemed a little odd.

There was one thing that bothered me. The timing of everything. Supposedly, the story takes place when Chloe is 25, and her relationship with Josh happened when she was 12. I thought the force of the emotion just didn't fit these ages. It would have made more sense for the relationship to happen in high school, and the story to happen in their early 30s. Other than that, it was a great read.

Cover Thoughts: I love the balled up paper with "I love you" written on it. I love it because it's cute and because I think it fits the story well. A balled up piece of paper usually means it's thrown away, forgotten. Those love letters were forgotten as well.

First off, I really enjoyed Solon's writing and I look forward to reading more by her. I enjoyed Chloe, Josh, Suzanne, and even Richard. They were all well developed. I would have to say that Suzanne was my favorite character. She's funny and witty. Even though she made mistakes and to many people in our day and age, didn't make the right decisions, she always put her family first. She is definitely a memorable character for me.

I also loved Josh. He was sweet and the things he remember and kept were just adorable. I admire Chloe, especially through the latter half of the book. Her job was something that she loved doing. She was always a good friend, easy going, and tried to do the right things. Also, you will just love Greta. Greta is Chloe's dog.

I liked how there were so many things that popped up, changed Chloe's perspective, and then something else would happen. I liked that because life is like that. It's full of changes and turning of events. I could also see Chloe's conflict and thought it was pretty reasonable. But, at the same time, I was like "good grief! Give the girl a break!" Or "oh c'mon! You know who you should pick!"

Addict's Last Words: A story of love over sercurity, Solon allows you to enjoy the characters and the twists and turns of life.

To Buy or To Borrow: I would be happy with this on my shelf.

Love Letters was a DNF for me. I only read about 30% into it before I decided that it wasn’t for me. The book starts out fairly strong, though from the beginning I did not like the main character of Chloe. Her indecision between a guy that treats her like dirt and her old flame was really annoying. Her fiance acted that she wasn’t there half the time and when he did acknowledge her, he does so with disdain. Chloe’s interest in him seems to be solely based on the fact that he has money and that rubbed me the wrong way. She is also a late twenty something woman who not only keeps a teddy bear from her old flame, Josh, but she is constantly cuddling it. Huh? Chloe just seemed immature and opportunistically engaged to a jerk. Her inner dialogue also seemed the same. There was a ton of “I don’t know, do I like Josh or Richard”. I guess it might be because by the time I was her age I had two kids, had been married a handful of years and was way past all that immaturity.

Josh is the long lost love who happens to be back in the tiny town he moved from years ago. He was cute in the boy next door type of way. While by the time I put the book down we didn’t know much about him yet, I liked him up to that point. His ex-girlfriend was a huge beotch but I’m sure she was meant to be troublesome.

I think had I connected with Chloe, I would have liked Love Letters more. As it was, I didn’t. Geraldine Solon’s writing is well polished though, so perhaps those with a love for contemporary romance will try it and love it

I have a hard time with the whole 11-12 year olds falling in love thing. I mean. . . it just seems so strange. It would have made better sense if it was high school at the least.

Some things did not make sense - the iPhone snapping shut, checking out of a hotel when they were at a cabin, whitewater rafting before breakfast? I really didn't follow that whole weekend very well. The time line was confusing. Did they ever have their couples massage? I don't even know!

"horsing down food"?? I own a horse. He eats slower than I do! Who says that????

I'm indecisive but Chloe has knocked that out of the ballpark. OMG. The whole book was Richard or Josh??? She went back and forth. There was NO connection with Richard. Did they ever really kiss? On the LIPS?! I don't know. It was horrible At least lets make it seem like they were a true couple and she actually FELT something for him. That relationship was terribly boring and dry.

Do 24 year olds play spin the bottle?! That's like a 13 year old game. That was just plain weird and awkward.

The acknowledgement at the end said there was an editor and I was stunned. Like I read that part twice.

I think the author has potential, but this just did not grab me. I read it in less than 24 hours cause I was painfully bored. I never quit a book before I finish it but I wanted to quit this one. There was true potential with this, but I think it fell flat.

Solon is the next hot writer in romance! I absolutely fell in love with this contemporary romance, Love Letters. Chloe Rogers thought she had the perfect life and the boyfriend, Richard. After all, he just proposed to her.. well that is until she bumps into her childhood sweetheart, Josh whom she hasn’t seen in years. Old memories and feelings start to come back to Chloe. Only adding to the fire is these love letters she finds that belonged to her mother that she received from a love of hers in 1968. Chloe confused by her own feelings sets off to help rekindle her mothers old flame and Josh is willing to help to. Although as they continue to puzzle the mystery behind her mothers old flame, both Chloe and Josh start to feel more towards each other. Everything Chloe thought was perfect was Richard is all now coming to light.. maybe he isn’t as perfect as she thought he was. Will Chloe choose Josh (her hearts desire) or will she go to Richard (out of comfort)? You will just have to find out! This is such a beautiful novella talking about life’s choices and how love for others never really seems to leave us. Solon’s characters are truly put to the test in this book and as a reader its something that they will enjoy because your kept guessing. Be sure to pick this gem of a book up, you won’t be disappointed!

A sweet story of Chloe a young girl who is just months away from her wedding. the story takes us through the ups and downs she meets as she personally struggles with who should she marry. Richard the staple, secure and driven man or Josh, her first love who just returned to town. In the midst of all her drama, Chloe comes across an envelope of love letters her mother had recieved from a man before her mother married her father. The letters show great passion and Chloe worries about making the wrong choice in regards to her own heart. Should she make the sensible one, the one that would gaurantee her future or should she follow her heart and pursue the man that makes her heart do flip flops as much today as he did when she recieved her first kiss when she was just 13 years old. This book shows our daughters that a woman can have love and still be independent, a message that I feel is so very important today.

First of all this is really more of a 3.5. I really liked the idea of the Love Letters. Spoilers: Placing the love letters in the attic from Chloe's mother's past love was a nice hook to the future. My only issue with the book was the love triangle. It's a personal thing. If you're into love triangles this book might be more for you. Richard and Chloe were all set to be married when a love from her past arrives. I kept waiting for Richard to have some really bad qualities, turns out his main problem was he worked to hard. Overall a good read.

This book was a contemporary romance that quickly captured my attention. I didn't want to stop reading even when I had other things to do, like sleep! I laughed and cried and found myself hoping that Chloe would wake up before it was too late and ditch Richard to be with Josh. I felt a connection to the characters - especially Chloe and Nicole and could see the storyline continuing into a series (not that I'm aware of any plans to do so). I would recommend Love Letters and would read other books by Geraldine Solon.

I loved this book, we meet Chloe Rogers who is a bridal shop manager who's engaged to Richard who seems a bit materialistic, always on the phone putting Chloe on the back burner. As she is planning her wedding her first love Josh comes back into town. All Chloe can think is why is he back? Has he finally returned to a long ago promise to marry her, that he told her when they were 11? This book I found was great cause as Chloe is making these big decisions she also helps her mother reunited with a flame from her past. Definitely a great romantic story.

THis book was pretty decent. It was a little cheesy. You could predict the ending but it was still fun to read. Its about a girl named Chloe who is engaged to a man named Richard, they have dated for two years. Her young lover from Jr. High showed up and they ran into each other. His name is Hosh . He moved back from Oregon to California just to get Chloe back. Chloe doesnt know that. She ends up having to choose Richard or Josh.

I recommend this book to girls who enjoy a love story. It was pretty good. I liked it for the most part, not my favorite though.

Love Letters, Geraldine Solon (my dear friend, a remarkably talented lady who can produce page turners like I’ve never seen…will be seeing her rise to the top*-you go GIRL!)

I kept turning the pages...like i kept turning the pages in Nicholas Sparks's "The Notebook". Routing for Chloe to marry Josh. Great twist n turns, keeping us guessing on the edge of our seats.

I really liked this book. It sent me through many emotions. A few of the characters were annoying, for example, Richard's mother. Suzanne was a little over the top at first, but she definitely grew on me throughout the book. This book is a perfect example that it is never too late to fall in love, and sometimes people deserve second chances. Very enjoyable!
