Based primarily on the Book of Luke, this study is a careful examination of the life of Christ. You will be introduced to an intimate Savior as you get a close-up and personal portrait of the life of Jesus the Messiah.
You'll see Jesus come to a funeral and raise the dead, confront conniving religious leaders, teach on a hillside, and even walk on the waves.

Very moving read. I can't begin to say how many times this study made me just stop and think. To dwell on the message shared. It is a wonderful study. There are times or utter awe and moments tears sprung to my eyes. There is a lot of Bible searching to match this study. It is not a fast read. She is constantly referencing readers back to the Bible, never once asking you to just take her word on a lesson. Learn if for yourself. She asks for the readers thoughts, experiences and interpretation which I liked as it makes it more personal. Overall, a wonderful read and study. If you can get the dvd lessons to go with it great, but even doing the daily lessons are amazing! Each segment is perfectly broken off to not overwhelm the reader. Loved it!
Not only will you know your bible better after doing this study, it is such an intimate look into the scriptures and into the life of Jesus. Fascinating and leaves you wanting to read and do it all over again.
Having done a few other Beth Moore studies (James is still my favorite), I appreciate some of the changes she has made to the more current workbooks. There isn't much space for answering the questions asked in this workbook. The content was good for the most part. Some of the areas for personal reflection felt very generic and didn't leave me thinking about them long after like I have in previous studies. Overall, I felt like I learned a LOT more about Jesus through the study. So while there wasn't an overwheleming amount of personal application, I learned a lot of background - both to the Jewish faith and the life of Christ. All of that will help me continue to build my faith. I felt like the videos really helped drive the content home and helped give extra information for understanding what was read. (Learning about the meaning and tradition behind the Last Supper was extremely interesting.)
Another great Bible Study with Beth Moore. We have thoroughly enjoyed these 11 weeks as we have explored Jerusalem, Jesus, the Apostles. She continues to point out things to us that we have missed countless times. Definitely has increased my awareness of Jesus, what he came here to do and what was done to him. I had the added bonus of reading "The Commission of Christ", "The Helper" and "If You Want to Walk on Water ..." at the same time, during this study. Getting to know more about Peter and John was a reward. Studying Luke and then the rest of the Gospels (filling in gaps) was great. I'm always happy to have completed another study ... but sad that it's over. Will be heading into "James: Mercy Triumphs" next ;-)
Love learning from Beth Moore. Many people have criticized her because of her lack of formal theological training, but I learned so much and it helped me to see that no, I don't have to have a major in religion or a seminary degree to know the Bible. Anyone can study and know Jesus and God's Word. Love her writing style and the questions she asks.
This was an amazingly awesome study. I did this as my first Bible study with the women's group. In addition to reading each chapter the coordinating Scripture and answering thought provoking questions at the end of each chapter...we also were blessed to watch video's of Beth teaching the series on location.
This is a fabulous bible literacy study that uses almost all five senses to make the times and book of Luke come alive. Cross references with O.T. and Matthew and Mark. Another indepth critical thinking study from Beth.
What a wonderful 10 weeks with Christ in the book of Luke! Beth Moore did it again! She brought it to life through scriptures all over the Bible to back up what we were learning! Thank you Beth Moore for letting God use you to impact lives!
I had never looked at Jesus this closely and carefully before. When I did, I decided that He "had it going on" like I never even imagined He could. Changed my life forever!
This is the first Beth Moore study I took. You will get to know Jesus personally. You can't take this study without growing closer to Him. This study changed my life.
I did this study almost ten years ago, but i can not forget how much it impacted me. The study made my relationship feel more personal. It also made me realize how powerful Jesus is. Amazing.
Wonderful Bible study. In the past year my two favorite studies have been by Beth Moore. (Luke & Galatians).
Entirely by coincidence we watched The Passion of the Christ the day before Jesus reaches Jerusalem in Luke. Watching the movie (which I had not ever watched before because of the R rating) was an absolutely transforming experience as I spent this week studying the final chapters of Luke. When Beth had us turn to Acts 2:24 as I studied the Resurrection (God raised him up, loosing the pangs of death, because it was not possible for him to be held by it). I was speaking out loud in my quiet little house with JOY! Amen!!!
This was a beautiful, evolutionary study. I have never experienced Jesus like this. Thank you Beth Moore!
Combining the intellectual pursuit of a greater knowledge of God’s Word with a greater spiritual pursuit of a personal relationship with Christ is Moore’s unique gifting. Be ready with multiple Bibles on hand - scriptural research is a requirement for both pursuits! COVID interrupted this Bible study & I am thankful for pushing to complete it.
