Arggh, this is just so bad. You just can't 'woke' Deadpool, it just doesn't work. It's like trying to make The Shining a rom-com! A trans girl friend and a Carnage-dog-child, wow, an ideas' snooze fest. The three of them plus Yuriko (awful use of Lady Deathstrike) find themselves primary targets of an Assassins creed called the Atelier. Can Wade's love life and fatherhood survive the experience? Well, I did not care. Even worse than the opening volume this is wall-2-wall unplotted violence with very predictable trite 'twists', but better art from Luigi Zagaria. The fact that Wade makes a number of 'dick' jokes about his Trans partner shows just how much this doesn't work on any level. Once again however, annoyingly this is a must-read with key additions to Wade's life. A One Star, 2 out of 12, and that's me being generous read!

"Many great philosophers have written about love. Simone De Beavoir. Jean-Paul Sartre. Taylor Swift. And you know what? I think they're all correct . . . especially Taylor Swift. I just feel like she gets me. Anyway . . . " -- Wade Wilson, a.k.a. Deadpool, waxing romantic while squiring a lady

Maybe it was because I read it too soon in the aftermath of Vol. 1, but the follow-up edition seemed to strain to achieve the same level of humor or zaniness, and just felt like it all ran out of gas before reaching the conclusion. When our title character was taking on the various members of the Atelier (that assassin's guild he failed to join in said initial volume) - who were out the avenge the death of their feared leader - it at least fulfilled the quota of expected squicky and silly action scenes. As for the romance part of the plot . . . well, that seemed rather negligible and sort of tiresome by the end.

(slightly) more restrained Deadpool here.,and that's a good thing..here

10issues/2 Volumes doesn't really cut it for a main character..but what comes next?

Romance and hilarity are in the air in this next Volume for Deadpool!
Still with Valentine Vuong, and still on the run from the assassins of the Atelier, his ace-in-the-hole is his symbiote dog Princess. LOL (I swear, the people who get to write Deadpool must have so much fun coming up with all the bullshit he gets into!) Eventually, they are captured and brought before the Horned Emperor, leader of the Atelier.... until, of course, he is overthrown....
Happy ending? yes I think so.

A good Volume overall, but not extremely memorable in the long run, or at least I don't think it will be. Still fun. Recommend.

I'm not entirely sure why this Deadpool run was in Krakoan livery when, bar the faintest parallels, it had nothing to do with that, concentrating on assassin versus assassin shenanigans in New York. And arguably editorial should have done something about two of the less conventionally handsome Marvel heroes acquiring dogs called Princess so close together. But they are both precious babies (even if this one is a ravening symbiote-hound - "PAPA SAYS I AM A STAR. HE SAYS I AM A BEAUTIFUL MENACE. AND THAT I AM A GROWING GIRL WHO NEEDS HER VITAMINS. ARE BONES VITAMINS?"), and this series was mostly quite entertaining and intermittently very sweet, so I'll let them off.

Decently satisfying sequel to my "favorite" Deadpool read (I'm generally not a fan of Deadpool comics). Deadpool and his beloved are still on the run from the Atelier, so this volume is really a series of running battles before the big confrontation with the leader of the Atelier ().

Action-packed and quip-heavy, the best character is easily Princess, the Carnage-infused dog-thing that refers to Deadpool as PAPA.

I really enjoyed this Deadpool run. I like Wade and Valentine together and the symbiote pet is actually kind of cute and a great addition. Excited to see what Deadpool brings to the table with the Fall of X storyline. How much comedy can be brought to such a serious story. Even with high stakes at time this kept so much comedy and that level of serious/unserious that Deadpool brings.

This was a pretty good read. I enjoy Wong's Deadpool voice more than some of the edgier ones. There are some entendres, but they're not ham-fisted. The art is fun and the story is absurd. Not essential, but fun.

This series was excellent. Wong did a great job of actually character developing a character like Deadpool. Very well done with the balance of storytelling and wackiness. They should have kept her on the book longer.

Wade Wilson is flying pretty high right now. He's got a non-binary lover, Valentine Vuong, who's also a mutant that can produce a number of poisons and antidotes with her crystalline arms. He's the owner of a massive puppy dog, Princess, who is a hybrid of Deadpool and the symbiote Spider-Man villain Carnage. He's got the world's best dog-sitter, the deadly Lady Deathstroke. And there's a really pissed off league of assassins called the Atelier out to kill him, Valentine and Princess. Things just couldn't be better for the Merc With a Mouth!

Volume 2 of Alyssa Wong's take on Deadpool isn't bad. The first segment where Wade and Valentine go on their first date was rather hilarious. Wong pushes the envelope with Wade's obsession with sex and gross humor. Though I did miss a couple of the jokes, like when Deadpool is trying to find out if were-foxes do similar things like werewolves do. I also have thought that the character of Princess was very well written and I thought the growing relationship between the hybrid pooch and Lady (Auntie) Deathstrike was so sweet and so funny.

However, I felt like Alyssa Wong's take on this corner of the Marvel Comics Universe was more in her image and not the all encompassing world of diverse characters developed originally by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. Wong is a queer writer and identifies as non-binary like her creation, Valentine Vuong. I support that she created an all-new character that she identifies with. One of the biggest arguments in comics these days is that comic creators keep retconning legacy characters into being queer instead of making new, diverse characters. With Wong creating a new character who is queer is instead of altering a beloved character's established sexuality is something I applaud. But then it seems like every character Alyssa Wong created, especially in this volume was a part of the LGBTQIA community.

As I'm writing this review, I'm starting to wonder if the Atelier was a community of queer assassins. I mean now that I think about it, all of the new characters, with exception of Princess, are members of the Atelier. They do all seem to be gay, lesbian, queer or non-binary. If that's the case, then bravo to Alyssa Wong on managing this in one of Marvel's flagship titles. And it would fit with Deadpool who does crush hard in an omnisexual way. However, if I'm totally wrong on this sudden epiphany, and Wong is just writing what they know and refusing to utilize straight Marvel characters in her stories, then we've got a problem on par with straight writers slipping into homophobia by refusing to use gay and queer characters in their stories.

Also, I need to rant a tiny bit at Marvel. I know that a happy Deadpool isn't quite as fun as a sad, lonely Deadpool. But I really hope his relationship with Valentine and his beloved Princess stick around for a long time. I'm starting to get a little annoyed with every new Deadpool series basically rewriting the character and his storyline. It's also very confusing. Where in the heck did Wade's daughter Ellie go?

I get it. People change. Change is inevitable whether you want it or not. I'm just feeling like a very fresh and exciting character like Deadpool is starting to get stale because it seems like every time we get a Deadpool #1, his entire life is toppled over and the same old rebuilding process starts all over again.

Deadpool seems to be having a rough time at Marvel lately, because his last two series have only run for 10 issues a piece before being cut short, which has been a shame because this run and the preceding King Of Monsters book were excellent.

Alyssa Wong's crazy tale of assassins, symbiote dogs, and making assassins walk your symbiote dog comes to a close in these last few issues, which see Deadpool and his new love Valentine face off against the Atelier for all the marbles. It's surprisingly sweet, as gorey as you'd hope, and laugh out loud funny at times too - exactly what a Deadpool book should be.

Alas poor Wade Wilson, we knew ye well. I know it won't be long before he's back in the spotlight, but it's always a shame to say goodbye to a series you enjoy.

Dear Marvel,

What's the difference between continuing a series and changing writing teams and cancelling a series only to create it anew with a totally different team? Deadpool has gone through several short series runs instead of something longer.

This run? He had a Carnage sample grafted onto him and ultimately gave birth to a symbiote dog named, 'Princess'. He's also been trying to get a position in the Atelier group. (A group of....marginal assassins that look to be much cannon fodder). Oh.....and Deadpool is looking for love again. This time it's a woman with glass arms and needle fingertips.

Sounds like another fun trip through chaos with Deadpool.

If this is it for Alyssa Wong's run on Deadpool I'd say she nailed it. While this did feel a little rushed at times, in my opinion, I thought this was a nicely done finale for this series. I really wish this run went on longer, as I was really enjoying it and I thought there was so much more that could be done with the cast available. I think it was a mistake to group it with the Krakoa titles, because it literally has nothing to do with anything else, and that's frustrating when the pretense is that it's inherently involved. Nonetheless, the last issue is able to wrap things up in a fairly satisfying way. Thinking about these past 10 issues, my biggest complaint of the series is that we didn't get more.

A lost less gooey and even more fun than the first volume. After the initial fallout with Harrower, Doc Ock, and Atelier, Deadpool has a new romance, a loyal if terrifying dog, and even an awkwardly adopted angry aunt. But the previous conflict left a lot of loose ends still to be dealt with, and so Wong, Pina, and Zagaria take us on another wild, funny, and often violent romp through Deadpool's often intertwined love life and professional feuds. The merc with a mouth still has a heart, and somehow after all this time, he's still finding himself in the unlikeliest of situations.

Deadpool's gotta make a living so he auditions for a membership in this super secret and weird group of assassins where he finds something unexpected: love. Bit first, his mission: he and lady Deathstrike must kill doc Otto. Pretty easy, right?
Except the Harrower has her own plans for Wade and they're pretty grouse, let's just leave it at that. Can Wade fulfil his mission, escape alive from multiple assassination attempts and overcome his fear of vulnerability in order to fight for the love he deserves? Well...his Deadpool, so probably yeah.

I wish this book could go on forever. And this is odd because, I’ve never liked Deadpool so far, but Wong writes him in such an unprecedented way that I just can’t stop reading and the whole thing is such a delight. Everything, from Valentine, to Princess, to Lady Desthstrike… they make such a beautiful and sick family.
I think I’d read anything written by Alyssa Wong, I can’t believe me she made me like this psycho…

Such a shame that this is the end of Wong's time with Deadpool. This series has been imaginative, violent, weird, and funny, which is everything that I like to see with this character. It's really sad that issue ten feels like it could be setting up some hilariously gory hijinks that we'll never get to see.

More Deadpool fun and jokes! I really liked this series as a complete volume detailing Deadpool’s pursuit of love with Valentine and his pursuit (for a time) of employment with The Atelier. Bummed that this one is done, but I hope they’ll begin a new Deadpool series soon.

I came to this after reading Cody Ziglar's new run on the title and...I guess I kind of enjoyed it? Just a bit too goofy on the whole for me. I think I'm more of a live-action Deadpool fan (and that is probably due to Ryan Reynolds) than a Deadpool comics reader.

Fun book. The Atelier are not the most effective assassins but their pairs are interesting and use their powers well together to a point. Princess is wild.

Deadpool's in love with a psycho and has a new symbiote dog in tow. Time to be attacked repeatedly by an assassin's guild. This was a lot of fun. I wish it had run more than 10 issues.
